  • Patent number: 6357266
Abstract: A latch cover is secured over a latch to be protected by the lock which locks the latch, and the latch cover restricts access to the latch to reduce the chance of tampering with the latch. The latch cover includes a cover plate sized to cover a substantial portion of the latch and lock when held in a position in front of the latch. Holding plates extend from the cover plate over the sides of the latch where a lock member of a lock locking the latch extend. Such lock member extends from the opposite sides of the latch and through holes in the holding plates to secure the cover in place. Side plates preferably extend between the holding plates to form a box structure to more fully cover the latch. Notches in the side plates receive items extending into or from the latch and help position the cover. The cover allows access to the lock so the lock and latch can be opened when desired and the cover removed.

Abstract: A portable bar attaches tangentially and locks to a vehicle steering wheel, preferably at the uppermost section of the rim, and extends to where it is fully visible from outside of the vehicle. The bar is a holllow tube in which a pair of clamping members, one being a fixed section of the tube and the other part hinged thereto, surrounds and is locked about the steering wheel rim. A cavity in the tube protectively encloses, along with anti-saw-through bars, alarm circuitry and the batteries therefor. Light and sound annunciators on the bar and a flashing LED armed-condition indicator are provided. A panic button on the outside of the tube to manually trigger the alarm, and push button selectors enclosed in the tube and accessible only when the device is unlocked to arm and disarm the alarm and to activate the light to serve as a flashlight or emergency flasher.

  • Patent number: 5042754
Abstract: A locking device made of two interfitting parts that holds the throttle control levers of an aircraft in their closed position when the parts are interfit. A key activated locking mechanism holds the two parts together. The throttle control levers are sandwiched between an upper transverse bar and the locking mechanism that secures the two parts to one another. An inclined surface formed mid-length of the upper transverse bar is inclined at the same angle as the throttle control levers when in their throttle closed position to confine the levers to the smallest possible space. A hemispherical-in-configuration cutaway is formed in the lower transverse bar and accommodates the yoke of the aircraft and restricts its movement.

  • Patent number: 4993248
Abstract: The anti-theft device comprises a strong steel plate (1) having a flat, substantially horizontal section (1a) combined in one piece with fork-shaped, bent section (1b). At the rear end of the plate (1) is an attachment boss (2) which in locking position cooperates with the rear region of a gearbox (9). A lock (4) is welded to the plate (1) between the boss (2) and the slit (7) of the fork arrangement (3), said lock being a double locking cylinder (5) which is applied in the channell (10) of the gearbox (9) and is turned to a position below the upper limiting wall of the gearbox (9) when the key is turned. In locking position the end edge (6) of the slit (7) in the fork arrangement (3) is in the immediate vicinity of the gear lever (8) and locks this in parking position. The anti-theft device is simple to install and can easily be removed from the vehicle.
