  • Patent number: 11100155
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-program products are described for determining current location information which includes determining whether an object is moving by comparing the current location information with previous location information. Future location information is calculated and a point of interest is filtered using the future location information. A media asset is then matched to the filtered point of interest and a current score is determined for the matched media asset. Determining a current score includes determining a window in which the matched media asset is geographically relevant to the future location information, and updating the matched media asset score when the future location information changes. An ordered playlist is dynamically generated according to the future location information by repeatedly prioritizing and sequencing matched media assets according to the current score for each matched media asset, and matched media assets are played or displayed in the ordered playlist.

  • Patent number: 11042827
Abstract: Methods and systems to dynamically and optimally sequence routes based on historical and real-time traffic conditions, and to predict anticipated traffic conditions along the dynamically generated route are disclosed. Route sequencing may be based on a set of predefined constraints, e.g., distance, time, time with traffic, or any objective cost function. The system of the present invention may be implemented in a vehicle fleet comprising one or more vehicles with one or more depots, or with no depots. An optimization server obtains real-time, historical and/or predicted future traffic, weather, hazard, and avoidance-zone data on road segments to generate a route, while staying within parameters and constraints set by an automatic machine learning process, an artificial intelligence program, or a human administrator. The platform may be coupled to sensors positioned on roads, e.g., speed radar or camera, and sensors positioned in vehicles, e.g., GPS system or on-board diagnostic sensor.

For example, if the user of the mobile device is at home, then the location context information indicates that the user is at home instead of merely indicating latitude/longitude information corresponding to the location of the home. The mobile device displays the location context information in order to convey the location of the mobile device in a manner that is meaningful without the need for a map. Alternatively, or additionally, the mobile device provides the location context information to at least one other device. Abstract: A method of enabling a first wireless information device to access absolute location data in which the first wireless information device does not possess its own absolute location finding system but is instead able to receive, over a wireless network, absolute location data from a second wireless information device that does have its own absolute location finding system. The present invention hence enables wireless information devices to share absolute location data: for example, a mobile telephone with GPS capability can be used as a local “beacon” to broadcast its absolute location to any nearby devices over a personal area wireless network (e.g. a Bluetooth network) so that those nearby devices can use that location data. Hence, a camera with no location finding system of its own could obtain location data from a nearby GPS equipped mobile telephone over a Bluetooth PAN and watermark its images with location data.

Abstract: A driving analysis server may be configured to receive vehicle location data and/or operation data from one or more vehicle systems, identify driving trips and/or driving patterns based on the vehicle data, determine risk assessment values corresponding to the driving trips and driving patterns, and calculate driver scores based on the analyzed driving trip and driving pattern data. Destination locations may be identified for a vehicle's driving trips, and information relating to the destination locations may be retrieved and analyzed to determine risk factors and risk assessment values associated with driving to and from the destination, as well as parking at the destination. Specific driving trip types or purposes may be identified, and driving scores may be calculated based on the vehicle location and time data, including the risk factors, risk assessment values, and the determined trip types or purposes.

  • Patent number: 10541959
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-implemented process is programmed or configured to allow a first mobile device to generate and send enriched pin data to a geographical messaging system. Enriched pin data may include latitude and longitude data, a timestamp, and a media element. Media elements may include image data, video data, text data, drawing data that defines a geographic location, route data that defines a geographic travel path, and/or pin expiration data. The geographical messaging system may then broadcast the enriched pin data to a second mobile device belonging to a team member in the same geographical region as the first mobile device. The second mobile device may then use the enriched pin data to display, on a geographical map, a map pin that corresponds to the enriched pin data. In one embodiment, the second mobile device may also use the enriched pin data to display, in a message chain, a message related to the enriched pin data.

  • Patent number: 10514260
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for controlling the integrity of the value of a piece of navigation information delivered by a merging/consolidation device including a plurality of processing modules. Each module generates a navigation solution from measurements coming from one or a plurality of separate navigation devices, which involves defining, for each processing module, a radius of protection, corresponding to a given probability of failure. The method includes defining at least one consolidated area that encompasses protection areas centered on the solution values that are output from the processing modules and that correspond to the radii of protection defined for these modules. The radius of protection of the merging/consolidation device for the probability of failure itself is defined to correspond to the consolidated area.

Abstract: A method of authentication in ride hailing situations may include transmitting, to a server by a first device of a passenger, a request for a ride to a destination, receiving an indication that a second device of a driver accepted the ride, and communicating first location data of each respective device to the other respective device. The method may also include determining a first distance between the first and second device based on the first location data of the first and second device. Responsive to determining that the first distance satisfies a threshold condition, the method may also include communicating, via a first point-to-point communication between the first and second device, second location data of each respective device to the other respective device. Further, the method may include presenting, based on the second location data, directions for the first and second device to reach each other.

  • Patent number: 10386194
Abstract: A route-biased search in a mobile navigation system locates points of interest (POI) on or convenient to a mobile user's current travel. The route-biased search operates in two modes, navigation and non-navigation. The navigation mode identifies the most convenient POIs that honor the mobile user's route to their destination. The non-navigation mode identifies the most convenient POIs that are located ahead of the user based on the user's inferred direction of travel. The route-biased search determines the best possible routes to the identified POIs taking into account the impact of the detour costs of traveling to the POI along with other ranking factors.
