Bill Distribution Or Payment Patents (Class 705/40)
  • Patent number: 9749391
Abstract: In a bill payment and presentation system, a method for electronically routing billing information over a communications network is provided, using an open financial exchange communication protocol. The method provides for a centrally located mainframe system and a switching system for coordinating the routing of messages between customer service providers and biller service providers. In particular, the method collects at the CSPs and at the BSPs mainframe application files comprising the messages, forwards these files in batch mode to the mainframe system and converts with a switching system these mainframe files into web-enabled addresses, allowing for the effective transmission of financial billing information in flat-file and/or Internet-based form.

  • Patent number: 9705672
Abstract: Disclosed are a key management method and system. A master key is remotely downloaded to avoid the problem that the master key is not issued to a merchant until the master key needs be downloaded on a POS terminal, so as to reduce logistics costs and maintenance costs. When a key is remotely downloaded, a KMS system uses a symmetric algorithm to encrypt the key to be transmitted to ensure that the encrypted key can only be decrypted by a corresponding POS terminal, thereby ensuring the security of data transmission. During bidirectional authentication, an application program of the POS terminal can only contact an encrypted text form of the key instead of a plain text key needing to be remotely downloaded to the POS terminal, thereby ensuring security in reproduction.

  • Patent number: 9508057
Abstract: A method of one embodiment facilitates the updating of account information. First account information associated with a payment account of a user is received by an interface, and the first account information is stored by a memory. Payee system information associated with a payee system, wherein the payee system stores one or more portions of the first account information, is also received by the interface and stored by the memory. A processor automatically determines that an update event has occurred, the update event associated with updated information comprising one or more updated values for one or more respective portions of the first account information, wherein at least a portion of the first account information stored on the payee system changes based on the update event. In response to automatically determining that the update event has occurred, the interface automatically communicates a payee update message comprising the updated account information.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a communication path are disclosed. Information can be received via a first communication session based on a first messaging protocol. The first communication session can be terminated at a virtual machine of a group of virtual machines. A dynamically bound communication path to a resource can be selected based on a dynamically reconfigurable routing table for the group of virtual machines. A second communication session can be initiated, at the virtual machine, via the selected dynamically bound communication path. The information can be transmitted to the resource via the second communication session based on a second messaging protocol.

Abstract: A domain name may be transferred from a donor account to a recipient account at a registrar using a donor mobile device and a recipient mobile device that may be in close proximity to each other. An application on the donor mobile device may send a donor request to an application on the recipient mobile device identifying the domain name. The application on the recipient mobile device may send either an accept or a reject of the donor request to the application on the donor mobile device. If accepted by the application on the recipient mobile device, the application on the donor mobile device may send a request to the registrar to move the domain name from the donor account to the recipient account. The registrar, after verifying or confirming the domain name transfer request, may transfer the domain name from the donor account to the recipient account.

  • Patent number: 9477995
Abstract: A system and method allow a customer to perform self-checkout at a real-world non-virtual store or restaurant or other business establishment that the customer is visiting. The customer pre-defines an electronic payment method. The customer visits the business establishment, and the system generates a unique user-specific code that is a function of the time, the location, and the specific customer. The code is displayed on the mobile device of the customer, which is then shown to an employee of the business establishment, which then enters the unique code into a Point of Sale terminal; thereby generating an association between an ongoing open tab of the customer, and the mobile device of the customer. The customer is able to perform self checkout of the open tab, without requiring action on behalf of the business establishment.

  • Patent number: 9436938
Abstract: A payment service is configured to support purchase transactions generated by merchant point-of-sale (POS) devices, wherein each purchase transaction may comprise multiple transaction requests such as authorization requests and capture requests. Each transaction request may be sent to a different one of multiple data centers of the payment service. Upon successfully receiving an acknowledgement from one of the data centers for a transaction request, the POS device designates that data center as the primary data center. Subsequently, all transaction requests for that transaction identify the primary data center, even when the transaction requests are sent to other data centers. At the payment service, the data centers synchronize requests such that the primary data center is informed of all authorizations and is made responsible for performing the capture of the transaction. This allows the primary data center to detect duplicate authorizations and to prevent duplicate captures.
