Network Computer Configuring Patents (Class 709/220)
  • Patent number: 10142349
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer programs for verifying permissioning rights to one or more data resources associated with a data processing platform are disclosed, performed using one or more processors. In an example method, the method comprises receiving, from a client device, an assertion statement identifying a user, a data resource and an operation performable with respect to the data resource. Another operation comprises applying the received assertion statement to a network database storing an access control list defining, for each of a plurality of data resources associated with the data processing platform, one or more users having permission to perform one or more operations on the respective data resource, wherein applying the assertion statement is effective to determine if the received assertion statement is true or false in relation to said data resource identified in the assertion statement. In the event that the assertion is false, an error message may be generated for output.

  • Patent number: 10135679
Abstract: A cloud system may create and support multiple network offerings for virtual machines in a cloud zone. Physical networks comprising sets of network elements, such as routers, gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and other network hardware, may be created and updated within a zone. Network offerings may be defined and associated, using tags or other techniques, with virtual machine networks, physical networks and/or network elements. Cloud end users may request specific network offerings when creating virtual machines, or may request to move existing virtual machines from one network offering to another. The cloud system may use the requested network offering to identify the virtual machine network, physical network, and/or network elements corresponding to the requested network offering. The cloud system may allocate a new virtual machine network and configure the network elements within the associated physical network to provide network services to the virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 10136377
Abstract: The invention is directed to optimization of a seamless transition of a mobile device from a 3G eHRPD network to a 4G network in a failure scenario. The mobile device is authenticated and attached to the 3G eHRPD network. Upon the mobile device initiating a first handoff attempt to access and access the 4G network, the subscriber profile database is accessed to determine whether a packet gateway identifier is stored on the database. If the identifier is not stored on the database, the first handoff attempt of the mobile device to access the 4G network is denied. Upon being denied, the packet gateway is triggered to communicate the packet gateway identifier in an authorization request so that the identifier can be stored in the subscriber profile database. A subsequent attempt of the mobile device to handoff to the 4G network is allowed, as the packet gateway identifier is now stored on the database.

  • Patent number: 10122626
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for processing data messages through an overlay network for a cluster of application instances operating on machines located across several datacenters. The method receives a data message, from a first application instance of the cluster operating on a first machine in a first datacenter, destined to a second application instance. When the second application instance operates on a machine in a different, second datacenter, the method (i) encapsulates the data message according to an overlay network defined for the cluster and (ii) forwards the encapsulated data message to a publicly accessible machine of the second datacenter. Only a subset of the application instances operating in the second datacenter operate on publicly accessible machines. When the second application instance operates on a machine in the first datacenter, the method forwards the data message directly to the machine on which the second application instance operates.

Abstract: A processor may receive an electronic message sent to a first device associated with a user. The electronic message may have a first format. The processor may receive usage information about the first device and a second device associated with the user. The processor may determine whether to send the electronic message to the second device based on the received usage information. The second device may be capable of receiving messages having a second format. The processor may determine, in response to determining to send the electronic message to the second device, whether to transform the electronic message from the first format to the second format. The processor may transform, in response to determining to transform the electronic message to the second format, the electronic message. The processor may transmit the transformed electronic message to the second device.

  • Patent number: 10084652
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein provide disaster recovery IP customization based on rules associated with virtual networks that virtual machines (VMs) are connected to. In one embodiment, the rules are applied to each recovered VM to dynamically derive new TCP/IP settings at a recovery site based on TCP/IP settings used at a protected site and the virtual networks that the VMs is connected to at the protected and recovery sites. In particular, the rules may be defined in IP mapper objects associated with mappings between protected site networks and recovery site networks. During disaster recovery, the protected-site-to-recovery-site network mapping for a vNIC of a recovered VM is determined and rules that are defined in the IP mapper object associated with such a network mapping are evaluated to generate new TCP/IP settings.

Abstract: For automatic updates to fabric alert definitions, a method monitors fabric alert definitions defined for a storage area network having a plurality of switches and a plurality of fabrics. The fabric alert definitions define alert conditions within the storage area network relevant to events occurring within one or more of the plurality of fabrics. The method further detects one or more changes to the plurality of fabrics by discovering relationships between each fabric and each switch within the storage area network and comparing current relationships against previous relationships. In addition, the method automatically modifies fabric alert definitions having a reference to changed fabrics responsive to detection of the one or more changes to the plurality of fabrics.

Abstract: A system and methods for correcting domain names in invalid email addresses are described herein. The method includes receiving email failure information including a bad domain name. The bad domain name is compared to valid domain names in a valid domain name database and a match distance of the bad domain name to valid domain names in the valid domain name database is evaluated. Confidence scores for the valid domain names are prepared based on the match distance. Valid domain names having confidence scores exceeding a domain match threshold are identified. A valid domain name with a confidence score exceeding the domain match threshold is selected. The method involves heuristics and machine learning. System administrator intervention may be received to assist in the selecting. An email note is sent to the corrected domain name.
