Abstract: An image data serial signal output from the parallel-serial converting circuit 21 is converted into a differential amplitude signal by the LVDS transmitter 22 in such a manner that the amplitude of the differential voltage of the image data parallel signal varies depending on the value of the synchronization code serial signal. Accordingly, the signal values of the synchronization code serial signal and the image data serial signal are simultaneously transmitted. On the reception side, the differential amplitude signal in which the amplitude of the differential voltage of the image data serial signal varies depending on the value of the synchronization code serial signal is received by the LVDS receiver 31. The signal values of the synchronization code serial signal and the image data serial signal are separated and output based on a predetermined comparison processing.

When the data word is a desired data word, the data word is written to the memory. The mixed-signal circuit includes an analog circuit, memory electrically proximate to the analog circuit and connected to receive digital data words, and a memory controller connected to the memory. The memory controller is operable to cause the memory to write to the memory each of the data words that is a desired data word and additionally to perform a dummy write to memory for each of the data words that is not a desired data word.

  • Patent number: 7188196
Abstract: Method and apparatus for playing analog audio in an electronic audio system having multiple audio codecs, only one of which has a direct hardware connection to the analog audio source. First analog audio data is received from the analog audio source at a first audio codec, and converted to digital audio data using the first audio codec. The digital audio data is stored in a memory, and read back from the memory, transferred to a second audio codec. The digital audio data is then converted to second analog audio data using the second audio codec, and output from the second audio codec. An audio controller may be used to store the digital audio data in a loopback buffer within the memory, read the digital audio data from the loopback buffer, and may further be programmed to operate in a prepare loopback state, a loopback running state, and a recording state.

Abstract: A multi-processor arrangement having an interprocessor communication path between each of every possible pair of processors, in addition to I/O paths to and from the arrangement, having signal processing functions configurably embedded in series with the communication paths and/or the I/O paths. Each processor is provided with a local memory which can be accessed by the local processor as well as by the other processors via the communications paths. This allows for efficient data movement from one processor's local memory to another processor's local memory, such as commonly done during signal processing corner turning operations. The configurable signal processing logic may be configured to host one or more signal processing functions to allow data to be processed prior to its deposit into local memory.

  • Patent number: 7099965
Abstract: The present invention provides a network device interface and method for digitally connecting a plurality of data channels to a controller using a network bus. The network device interface interprets commands and data received from the controller and polls the data channels in accordance with these commands. Specifically, the network device interface receives digital commands and data from the controller, and based on these commands and data, communicates with the data channels to either retrieve data in the case of a sensor or send data to activate an actuator. In one embodiment, the bus controller transmits messages to the network device interface containing a plurality of bits having a value defined by a transition between first and second states in the bits. The network device interface determines timing of the data sequence of the message and uses the determined timing to communicate with the bus controller.

Abstract: A global architecture for a serial link connection between two cards which must transmit data across wired media is provided. The architecture comprises a transmitter portion and a receiver portion. The transmitter portion includes a structure and circuitry to take digital bits from a first bit register, such as for example, an eight-bit register or a ten-bit register, and convert these bits into serial analog transmission to the receiver portion. The receiver portion includes a structure and circuitry to sample the analog transmission of the original digital bits and reconvert the analog serial signal of the digital bits corresponding to the original digital bits and store them in a second bit register comparable to the data stored in the original register from which they were selected.

Abstract: A programmable driver/equalizer with an alterable FIR enables the equalization of serial links or other transmission systems to adapt to a variety of transmission media, specifically, intersymbol interference (ISI). Current mode differential drive circuits are coupled to a transmission media via a Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter operating in the Z transform mode. The FIR filter includes A and B coefficient setting circuit, and is coupled to the drivers. The driver circuit also includes A coefficient level driver compensation and B coefficient level driver compensation to reduce self-induced ISI from the driver while the filter coefficients are activated. The coefficient setting circuit receive a combination of control bits to select the appropriate response for the driver to the various transmission media parameters.
