Abstract: The present invention provides an exhaust gas analyzing system having a function of navigating an adjusting procedure of a gas analyzer, and the system includes an analyzer for analyzing exhaust gas and a manager for managing or controlling the analyzer, and the manager includes a procedure display part for selectively displaying adjustment items necessary for adjustment of the analyzer in a predetermined order in a predetermined area of one screen, and a detail input screen display part for displaying a detail input screen of the selected adjustment item.

Abstract: An electronic messaging system and method with reduced traceability. Separate displays are provided at a recipient user device for separately displaying via the user device header information of an electronic message and message content including a media component. The header information is displayed in a message list via a first display. The message content including a media component is displayed via a second display. The display of the message content occurs via the second display without displaying the header information. Methods, systems, and computer readable media with separation of the display of media component and header information in various implementations may provide for reduced traceability of an electronic message.

Abstract: A database management system stores data form a plurality of logical tables as independent copies in different format. In one specific example the system organizes tables into table groups and de-normalizes the table in each table group. It also organizes data in a second format including vertical column containers that store all the data for one attribute, there being one column container for each table and each attribute within that table. The receipt of a query causes the system to develop a query plan that can interact with either or both of the container sets.

The processor is configured to provide an indication to display the embedded intelligence applet window in a partially transparent mode in the event that an indication to activate a window other than the embedded intelligence applet window is received. The memory is coupled to the processor and is configured to provide the processor with instructions.

Abstract: A handheld electronic device includes a reduced QWERTY keyboard and is enabled with disambiguation software. The device provides output in the form of a default output and a number of variants. The output is based largely upon the frequency, i.e., the likelihood that a user intended a particular output, but various features of the device provide additional variants that are not based solely on frequency and rather are provided by various logic structures resident on the device. The device enables editing during text entry and also provides a learning function that allows the disambiguation function to adapt to provide a customized experience for the user. The disambiguation function can be selectively disabled and an alternate keystroke interpretation system provided. During text entry, a user is able to delimit a language entry session, such as the entering of a word, by actuating a multiple-axis input device or another input device.

Abstract: Embodiments prepare a markup language (ML) element for animation. A request to perform at least one animation on at least one ML element is intercepted or received. One or more animation preparation attribute values are defined based at least on the requested animation and current attribute values of the ML element. The ML element is altered to include the defined animation preparation attribute values, and an animation engine performs the animation of the altered ML element. The animation preparation attributes and values (e.g., style elements) may be reset, removed, or otherwise modified after animation. In some embodiments, a library of application programming interfaces (APIs) enable web browsers to request animations of legacy hypertext markup language (HTML) elements for consumption by animation engines based on JAVASCRIPT scripting or cascading style sheets (CSS).

Abstract: System and methods are provided for displaying objects at a treatment display screen coupled to an apparatus for performing a treatment. A first arrangement of the objects is presented at the treatment display screen. At least some objects of the first arrangement of the objects are in a fixed state on the treatment display screen. A rearrangement mode of operation of the treatment display screen is activated. The objects of the first arrangement of the objects are changed from the fixed state to a fluid state that allows for rearrangement of the objects of the first arrangement of the objects to a second arrangement of the objects that is different than the first arrangement of the objects. The treatment is prevented from being performed during operation in the rearrangement mode. The second arrangement of the objects is presented at the treatment display screen during operation in the rearrangement mode.

Abstract: Embodiments provide electronic spreadsheet viewing and interaction features and functionalities, but the embodiments are not so limited. In an embodiment, a computer-implemented method can be configured to provide a cell view launch indicator or interface that alerts a user that a selected cell includes additional content not being currently displayed. The cell view launch indicator can be activated and use a cell view mode to launch a separately controllable cell view window or portion. Other embodiments are included.

Each input terminal includes a processor and a display screen configured to allow a user to perform handwriting input thereon and to display the data. The processor of each input terminal is configured to perform making a user to choose who acquires an access right, making a request to acquire the access right to the control apparatus, and transmitting handwriting data to the control apparatus. The processor of the control apparatus is configured to perform granting an access right of a part or whole of the area determined by the user, giving one of the input terminals a notice about the granted access right, transmitting the handwriting data to other input terminals and operating the display screen of each of the other input terminals to display the handwriting data.

In various embodiments, a modeless error viewer is provided that allows end users to view an errors list for any failed row at the same time as the user corrects these errors.

Abstract: A spreadsheet application associates data obtained from a captured image with a spreadsheet. For example, one or more images of physical data may be captured and translated into electronic data that is automatically associated with one or more spreadsheets. The formatting and underlying formulas of the data included within the captured image may be represented within a spreadsheet (e.g. highlighted data remains highlighted within the electronic spreadsheet). The data may also be compared with existing electronic data. For example, differences between the data in the captured image with the data in an existing spreadsheet may be used to update the existing spreadsheet. A display of a captured image may be also be augmented using data that is obtained from the captured image. For example, a chart may be created and displayed using data that is obtained from the captured image.

Abstract: The dependency graph spreadsheet system allows for the capture of a sequence of calculations or formulas as a function. The function is stored as a function definition in a spreadsheet application. The function definition provides the ability to call or select a name or code associated with the function or function definition in the spreadsheet application by placing the name in a cell of the spreadsheet application. If the form of the calculation needs to be verified or modified, the function is reviewed and/or modified in the function definition worksheet, eliminating the need to seek out each invocation of the function in the spreadsheet application. The dependency graph spreadsheet system also provides the ability to invoke a higher order function that uses a defined function as an input and generates an output from the higher order function on a range of data inputs for the defined function in the spreadsheet.

Abstract: Rendering common cell formatting for adjacent cells is disclosed. In some embodiments, when rendering cells, a set of adjacent cells that have at least one type of cell formatting in common is identified, and the at least one type of cell formatting is rendered as a single entity rather than individually for each cell in the set to prevent visual artifacts between adjacent cells from arising.

The pulled data is converted, by the extension, into a format compatible with a second accounting software application. The method further includes, in response to receiving the request, automatically displaying the graphical representation of the classification of the set of patent applications into the plurality of categories according to the attribute on a display device. The graphical representation includes a plurality of patent document icons. Each of the plurality of patent document icons corresponds to one of the set of patent applications. Each of the plurality of patent document icons graphically represents that the patent application associated with the patent document icon is classified in a category of the plurality of categories.

Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for displaying and managing spreadsheets on mobile devices. An optimized search can be performed. A selection is received from a user to open a spreadsheet. A find selection is received from the use along with keywords for which to the user wishes to search. Any matching keywords are found in the spreadsheet and the cell location of the keywords is retrieved. A results page is constructed that shows search result listings with the keywords along with data surrounding the one or more keywords. The results page is displayed. Navigation options are provided for allowing a user to navigate around the spreadsheet. Right, left, downward, and upward navigation options can be used to change the current view of the spreadsheet by a pre-defined number of cells. Techniques are described for optimizing the display of charts in the spreadsheet.

Abstract: Grouping a set of data is disclosed. In some embodiments, a set of data is grouped with respect to a column and/or a row associated with the set of data in response to receiving a selection of an option to group the set of data with respect to the column and/or the row. In some embodiments, the grouping of the set of data is based on real time values of the set of data and is automatically and dynamically updated in response to changes in the set of data.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to selecting and applying data-specific presentations, to adaptively selecting visual presentations based on historical data and to providing rendering hints for data presentations. In one scenario, a computer system receives an indication that a visual presentation is to be applied to a specified portion of data. The computer system analyzes the specified data to determine which of a plurality of data presentations is most relevant for the specified data. The relevance is based on relevancy factors including one or more of the following: end-user profile, structure of the specified data and patterns within the specified data. The computer system then applies the determined appropriate visual presentation to the specified data.

Abstract: A networked version of a spreadsheet application can be automatically created from an existing “conventional” spreadsheet. In one implementation, a server may obtain a data file, where the data file represents a networked version of a spreadsheet application that was converted from the “conventional” application and the data file defines characteristics of the networked version of the spreadsheet application including logic and interactivity attributes of cells in the networked version of the spreadsheet application. A remote request may be received from a client to access the networked version of the spreadsheet application. In response, the server may transmit a document to the client that represents a portion of the networked version of the spreadsheet application that the interactivity attributes specify as being displayable to the client.

Abstract: Cross-tabular reports may be automatically created by a computer from received source data. After receiving the source data, the computer may determine different information types associated with fields contained in the source data. The computer may then score each field based on the information types. A score describes a suitable placement of each field as a cross-tabular report row, a cross-tabular report column or a cross-tabular report value field. The computer may then select the fields having the highest score for placement as cross-tabular report rows, cross-tabular report columns or cross-tabular report value fields in a cross-tabular report. Finally, the computer may build the cross-tabular report with the selected fields.

Abstract: Specifying rules for processing data included in fields of elements of a dataset includes rendering user interface elements associated with a respective condition. The user interface elements include: first subsets of user interface elements, at least some of which are associated with an input value derived from at least one field, and second subsets of user interface elements, each configured to receive user input associated with a respective condition. Conditions are applied to at least a first element of the dataset based on user input received from at least some of the user interface elements, in response to receiving user input for a first user interface element associated with a first field. Instructions are generated for applying one or more selected conditions associated with fewer than all of the user interface elements, the selected conditions including at least a condition associated with the first user interface element.

Abstract: This disclosure provides examples of computerized methods and software for performing analytical procedures by interacting with visual representations of datasets. In one aspect, a visualization of a first dataset is displayed in a first portion of a GUI, where that visualization is associated with a set of criteria applied to the first dataset. A visualization of a second dataset is displayed in a second portion of the GUI. A selection of at least a portion of the data from the visualization of the first dataset is received, the selection associated with at least one set of set of criteria from the first dataset. A request to apply the selection to the second dataset is received, and, based thereon, the set of criteria from the first dataset is applied to the second dataset to generate a third dataset. A visual representation of the third dataset is then displayed in the GUI.

Abstract: In various embodiments, methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable media are disclosed that allow developers to provide automatic column resizing in spreadsheet software using a desktop integration framework. The width of a column usually can only be set at or to hard-wired widths or manually adjusted to fit (even with a manually triggered auto adjustment function). This feature adds the ability to control column widths in tables at run time.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide a solution for reducing cycle time of automatically created spreadsheets. Specifically, an embodiment of the present invention provides a way to create a spreadsheet from data that is in a native format more quickly and/or efficiently. To do so, the invention accesses a control file using optimized settings to create the spreadsheet. Then, after creation of the spreadsheet, the invention uses a second control file having the final settings to modify the spreadsheet in preparation for output. The invention may use agents to perform all or a portion of these activities.

Abstract: In various embodiments, methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable media are disclosed that allow developers to place tooltips on components and columns headers using a desktop integration framework. The tooltips can be tied to translatable resources or model metadata. In one aspect, the tool tip metadata is provided separately from the document to which the tool tip will eventually be tied.

Abstract: A system for automatically detecting relationships in spreadsheet data is disclosed. The system may be configured to analyze data items in the spreadsheet to determine whether two or more data items are unrelated. If the two or more data items are unrelated, then the system may notify a user of a need to define the relationship, and automatically defines the relationship for the two or more data items, or suggests the relationship to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining mutation regions for a spreadsheet. Mutation regions are iteratively assigned to a first region of cells in the spreadsheet. To assign a mutation region, a column is selected from the first region. A first row in the first region of cells is associated with the selected column that is not assigned to a mutation region and that is not included in a second region of the spreadsheet is determined. A largest region contained within the first region that does not overlap with the second region for which the cell in the selected column and the first row is in a designated position is determined. The largest region is assigned as a mutation region for the spreadsheet.

Abstract: A method and computer-executable program code for displaying data in a table having columns, rows and a plurality of cells defined by the columns and rows. The method involves the steps of creating a first and a second sub-tables positioned one above another or side-by-side. The top sub-table defines a non-scrollable, fixed header, while the bottom table defines a scrollable data table. The top table has a visible part and a hidden part, which contains records copied, without re-positioning or re-ordering, from a maximum width cell in the top or bottom table corresponding to each individual column. To form a fixed sidebar, the code computer-executable program code adjusts the height of the rows based on the parameters of a maximum height cell in the row.

Abstract: A system and method of extracting information from electronic data sources that includes generating a list of file names containing the information to be extracted. Each file name in the list is read into memory, the file that corresponds to the file name is read into memory, and the information is extracted from the file by executing a series of programming instructions. The information is saved to an extracted file, and one or more file names in the list is identified to correspond to an extracted file.

Abstract: A solution is provided that allows a user to provide an alternate set of metadata for any number of data points within a report, while in a report design environment. They may lay down a grid on the work area and specify the data by placing the relevant dimensional metadata, extracted from the source, in the grid as row headings and column headings. The user may then select either a column or a row from the grid and upon doing so may be provided with a mechanism to define alternate metadata that can describe all data points that are in the column or row in the target system. This allows for a much more user-friendly environment in which to specify metadata mappings between internal sources and external sources.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for providing drill-through information. User input of locations of one or more target documents and values of parameters for those one or more target documents is received. A user is allowed to move a drill-through lens window across a source document, wherein the drill-through lens window displays a floating, transparent target document. In response to the drill-through lens window floating over the data in the source document, in real time: the data is selected in the source document, the selected data is identified as a parameter for a target document, the parameter is used to obtain further details from the target document, and the drill-through lens window is displayed showing the further details.

Abstract: A method to create and to permit multilingual cell formulas to be written and translated concurrently into any human language within Microsoft Excel, including those that are not representable in ANSI. This method enables multiple ad-hoc concurrent semantically complete and extensible non-Roman and non-English natural language function sets and function names available for presentation and execution within cell formulas within MS Excel and to provide real-time translation of presentation and execution between nominated language function sets.

Abstract: An electronic device having a display and a touch-sensitive surface, displays a table having a plurality of rows, a plurality of columns, and a plurality of cells. The device detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface that includes movement of one or more of a first contact and a second contact. When the detected gesture is a pinch gesture at a location that corresponds to one or more respective columns in the table and has a component that is perpendicular to the one or more respective columns, the device decreases the width of the one or more respective columns. When the detected gesture is a de-pinch gesture at a location that corresponds to one or more respective columns in the table and has a component that is perpendicular to the one or more respective columns, the device increases the width of the one or more respective columns.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is executed on a server having one or more processors and memory storing one or more programs to be executed by the one or more processors. The method includes receiving document editing commands, for editing a respective document, from one or more users in a document editing session, and editing the respective document in accordance with the commands received from the users. The received commands including document text for the document. The method further includes detecting, within the respective document text, an embedded request to invite a specified user to access the respective document, and responding by sending an invitation to the specified user, and, if needed, adding the specified user to an access control list of the respective document to enable the specified user to access the document in response to detecting the embedded request.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and system for grouping columns of data into different levels for subsequent multiple level operations. The method comprises the steps of providing sub-columns within a single table column, said table columns and each of the sub-columns having an associated header; and using multiple dummy tables and displaying them separately on different locations, one of the dummy tables including one or more of the associated headers. The preferred embodiment of the invention uses a tool, referred to as the Jtable class, which is used to display and edit regular two-dimensional tables of cells. The present invention is able to support multilevel headers and column spanning by using multiple tables and displaying them separately. Preferably, this is done using another tool, GridBagLayout, which is associated with Jpanel tool.
