Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method may be provided for controlling an operation of the mobile terminal. This may include displaying a first webpage on a display module, and if a second webpage is chosen to be displayed, determining whether the second webpage is provided by the same website that provides the first webpage. If the second webpage is provided by the same website that provides the first webpage, the first and second webpages may be merged into a third webpage and the third webpage may be displayed on the display module. Therefore, a plurality of webpages provided by a same webpage may be displayed at a same time by merging the webpages into a single webpage.

Abstract: A system and method that displays pages of an e-book on a display of a mobile device, according to a user's input information related to the pages is provided. The page display method of a mobile device with a touch screen, includes displaying at least one page of an e-book on the touch screen, detecting a touch in a first corner area of one of the at least one displayed page, deforming the first corner area to a second corner area in response to the touch, detecting a first touch moving from the second corner area, and folding the displayed page according to the movement of the first touch.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system for generating a presentation order from a document that has fixed presentation layout when rendered. Techniques include reconstructing structural information and logical ordering for fixed-layout documents. A document editor generates a presentation order, or a read order, for contents within a fixed-layout document. The document editor creates an initial sort order for areas of content within a document. The document editor then generates a presentation order based on graphical dimensions and graphical placement relationships among areas of content within a document. The resulting presentation order can be used to create a second document or second layout, or to add structural information to create reflowed or reflowable content.

In some embodiments of methods for print resource management print data comprising PDL data may be parsed to identify reusable resources in the print data. The reusable resources may be converted to a common internal format and stored. In some embodiments, reusable resources may be rendered to obtain a rendered version of the reusable resource, which may be stored. In some embodiments, the stored rendered version or a rendered form of the stored formatted version of the reusable resource may be used in a bitmap image for a page whenever the reusable resource is referenced during the creation of the bitmap image for the page.

Abstract: An input of a layout of one or more components in a container component is received and a new cross platform layout of the one or more components in the container component is generated. The cross platform layout includes at least one automatically sized autopad and/or container autopad that defines spacing to properly position the one or more components within the container component. The size of the autopad and/or container autopad is determined upon execution of the cross platform layout on a software platform using a visual guideline for that software platform. In some embodiments, some or all of the components are automatically positioned in the cross platform layout such that a contents of each of the components, such as text, is laid out within the container component along the same baseline.

Abstract: Various embodiments create a source image from a web page and then process the source image effective to remove left and/or right border areas so that a reduced-size web page image created from the source image has a better chance of capturing relevant content for a viewer. In at least some embodiments, image processing techniques are utilized to identify repeating patterns of pixels along left and/or right border areas of a source image. The image processing techniques can process individual rows of pixels looking for patterns of pixel color values. Identified patterns of pixel color values are noted and then subsequently used to remove regions of the source image in which repeating patterns occur. Having removed these regions from a source image, the source image can be reduced in a manner directed to improving information density contained in a reduced-size web page image created from the source image.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of e-book technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for loading an EPub e-book into a reading device. A method for loading an EPub e-book provided herein includes: resolving a directory file of the EPub e-book to obtain directory index information of each chapter of the EPub e-book, and displaying a directory of the EPub e-book; resolving a chapter selected in the EPub e-book, and displaying content of the resolved chapter and a page number of a current page relative to the selected chapter; and obtaining number of pages of every other chapter in the EPub e-book, and displaying page number information according to the obtained number of pages of each chapter. The corresponding reading device and a system for sharing loading data of all chapters of an EPub e-book are also disclosed.

The rating value may be selected from a set of pre-determined rating values.

The business application generates a packet that is transmitted to the distribution utility. Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a dynamic re-configuration with a DFE imager and caching modules to optimize RIP performance by analyzing pages within the job that collect page with job heuristics and statistics. Enabling the functionality to assess the information, thereby re-configuring a digital printer's imager and caching module dynamically during the job RIP to achieve improved overall RIP performance. Accordingly, a system collects and assesses job statistics across multiple jobs to enable optimum performance over time.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for automatically classifying images of pages of a source, such as a book, into classifications such as front cover, copyright page, table of contents, text, index, etc. In one embodiment, three phases are provided in the classification process. During a first phase of the classification process, a first classifier may be used to determine a preliminary classification of a page image based on single-page criteria. During a second phase of the classification process, a second classifier may be used to determine a final classification for the page image based on multiple-page and/or global criteria. During an optional third phase of classification, a verifier may be used to verify the final classification of the page image based on verification criteria. If automatic classification fails, the page image may be passed on to a human operator for manual classification.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, techniques are described herein to assist a publisher to create fixed layout pages of an electronic publication. The techniques are useful for creating cookbooks, travel books, photography books, children's books, other “illustrated books”, or any other electronic publication where a fixed layout for at least some of the pages of the electronic publication is desirable. With the techniques, the publisher may embed fonts, select particular fonts and font sizes, assign visual content to fixed layout pages, and precisely position visual content at fixed positions on fixed layout pages. A scaling mechanism for an electronic reader device is also disclosed for scaling fixed layout pages to fit the size of a display screen of the reader device while maintaining the aspect ratio and assignment of visual content to fixed layout pages specified by the publisher.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for resolving inter-page nodes in flow diagrams is presented. In one embodiment, an inter-page node in a flow diagram is identified. An inter-page node is a node laid out on a page break in a multi-page flow diagram. A set of candidate pages is formed. A bid for each page in a set of candidate pages is requested from each policy in a set of page break policies. A page is selected from the set of candidate pages based on bids received from the set of page break policies. A value of each bid indicates a level of suitability of each page in the set of candidate pages. The inter-page node located on the page break is moved to a new location on the selected page. The new location on the selected page is located off of all page breaks for the flow diagram.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically assigning items to printable media are disclosed. A computer readable medium is in communication with a computing device and includes programming instructions for electronically obtaining a first template that includes a plurality of first content items, each including a first content area. For each first content item, first content area properties and first content item properties are identified. A second template including a plurality of second content areas is electronically obtained. For each second content area, second content area properties, second content item properties and content rules are automatically identified. For each first content item, it may be determined whether a first content item corresponds to a second content area based on the rules. The first content item may be automatically assigned to the second content area. A representation of each assigned content item may be printed.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for displaying content on an electronic book having a plurality of physically distinct displays configured to be turned by a user. A content page may be calculated for display on a display page with number Dm, different from the currently opened display page number Dn. The content page may be calculated based at least in part on a ratio between Dd and Dr, where Dd is a difference between Dm and Dn, and Dr is a number of display pages between the currently opened display page and a beginning or end of the available display pages formed by the plurality of displays of the electronic book.

Abstract: The printer successively stores the objects contained in the PDF file as they are transmitted from the PC, and conducts the printing process for said specific page when it judges that all the objects necessary for displaying said page are stored. Each incoming document includes at least one section of textual content and is provided in an electronic form or as a paper-based document that is converted into an electronic form. Since many categories of documents, such as legal and accounting documents, often include one or more common text sections with similar textual content, the document processing system compares the documents to identify and classify the common text sections. In that manner the converter system converts the first format file to a second format file. The page transition indicators in the second format file enable an electronic book reading device to paginate an electronic book in accordance with page numbers of the printed book version.
