The widget engine may display a graphical representation of the analytics in a manner that compliments the workflow of a trader. The graphical representation may be automatically updated based on real-time market data.

More specifically, the present invention layers Web browsing in a system where a Web page is first displayed in an overview mode at a predetermined magnification. From a Web page displayed in overview mode, the user may issue adaptive viewing commands that cause relevant content to be displayed using additional screen space.

The unique identifiers allow the service to track the success of directing users to the sponsored service centers based on their participation in the information service. The unique identifiers also allow for implementing pay per search payment schemes and for generating reports based on the sponsor's participation in the information service.

The patient's medical record, standards of care for the condition, prescribed treatments, and patient input are applied to a generalized health model of a disease to generate a personalized health model of the patient. The personalized health model comprises an HTML file encoding an image map of a body. The body image illustrates the health condition of the individual patient. Preferably, data is collected from health provider sources and stored in a database on a server at a service provider site. The data is processed at the server, and is displayed in the patient's home using a TV connected to a multimedia processor. The multimedia processor connects the television set to a communications network such as the Internet. Applications include preventive care of chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma.

Once converted to normalized decimal equivalent unit, the test results can be stored in a mass storage device for later reporting. Abstract: A system and method for integrating command shell into a graphical user interface (GUI) in order to provide a single user interface (UI), so that a user need not work in different environments for different tasks are provided. An output response from the command shell is typically one or more lines of text from an output stream such as standard error or standard output. To accomplish the integration, a user is enabled to enter shell commands from the GUI. Output responses from the commands are interpreted to determine how to represent objects in the responses. The interpretation may be by pattern matching with regular expressions. If a shell command produces lines of command output, which when interpreted (e.g. indicating a file or folder), map to some other object model (e.g. a file subsystem) in the GUI, appropriate model objects (e.g., a file or folder icon) are created and rendered into the GUI as a response to the shell command.

In one aspect, a method for establishing a session with a server during an on-line transaction session is provided. Abstract: The invention provides graphically representing time dependent information or data objects in a sequential manner using a dynamic time strip having implicit or explicit indications of time. The dynamic time strip is a linear graphical strip comprising graphical representations of time dependent information elements or data objects which may or may not include text or markers to indicate the time (i.e. second, minute, hour, day and/or date) along the length of the strip. As time passes, and data objects are changed, added or removed from the time strip, the time strip is automatically and dynamically updated to reflect these changes along with showing the passage of time. The period of time represented by the dynamic time strip is preferably one day, with the dynamic time strip automatically scrolling forward as time passes. However, in one embodiment, the period of time represented by the dynamic time strip is user configurable.

Abstract: Localizing software applications into target languages such as French, Chinese, etc. is time consuming, expensive and error prone. End users often need to install and operate multiple copies of the same software applications localized into different languages if they need to work in multiple languages. By providing a localization engine with access to information about resources used in a user interface and translations of those resources, on the fly localization of software applications is possible. Context information is stored in the localization database and used to identify appropriate translations of the resources. Run-time context information is obtained from the user interface and/or software application and optionally a context information store. In some examples, target language resource results are presented in tooltip like displays.

Abstract: A method and device for executing multiple operations on different files displayed on a graphical user interface. A pre-defined combination of keys is assigned a particular operation, such as “Delete,” “Copy,” “Move,” etc. As a first combination of keys is engaged, one or more files are selected, using a pointing device such as a mouse. The selected files are color-coded, indicating a first operation to be performed on the selected files. A second combination of keys is then engaged, and a second operation is assigned to other selected files. When satisfied that the selected operations are correct for all of the selected files, a user then executes the operations by depressing the “Enter” or similar key. By viewing different operations for different files before the operations are executed, a user is given an overview of all operations to be applied to all selected files, thus improving file management.

Abstract: Embodiments are described for capturing, displaying, and navigating text annotations in a non-modifiable document. In some embodiments, a determination is made that a text annotation is to be created and a system determines the file position of the selected object. The file position of the selected object can be stored along with the created text annotation in another file or a non-read only portion of a file storing the document. Using the file position, the text annotation may be identified with the selected object without modifying the non-modifiable document. In some embodiments, once a text annotation is displayed a user may easily navigate among the captured annotations.

Abstract: Mobile devices are described, along with related services, systems, and methods. These devices include displays with pixel dimensions and pixel densities in ranges that are chosen to allow users to enjoy a more intuitive and more “desktop-like” Web or multi-media experience compared to other devices, while still enabling the devices to be pocketsize. Also described are devices with touch sensitive areas on the edges or back that let users efficiently and intuitively control some behaviors of the devices by touching the touch sensitive areas in certain ways. Embodiments of the present invention reduces the need for mechanical controls, which enables keeping the frame around the device's display unusually narrow, thereby permitting larger displays without increasing the overall sizes of the devices.
