A plurality of advertisements are determined that are qualified for display at a location in the page. When an advertiser has stores located at a plurality of geographic sites, only one advertisement for a store located at a first geographic site may be displayed. Thereafter, the advertisement for a store located at a second geographic site different from the first geographic site may be displayed.

Abstract: A menu user interface providing device and a method thereof are disclosed. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the method of providing a menu user interface by a portable apparatus, including determining whether a main menu icon displayed on a touch screen is selected; determining whether a menu mode is an activation mode or an inactivation mode if the main menu icon is selected; and changing the menu mode into the activation mode if the menu mode is determined as the inactivation mode and forming an expanded menu by radically arranging a submenu of n hierarchies, n being a natural number, corresponding to the main menu icon and displaying the formed expanded menu through a touch screen. Accordingly, with the present invention, a user interface capable of inputting various data with easy manipulation and minimized multi-points can be provided.

The laundry appliance includes a controller device configured to direct operation of at least one operational component associated with the laundry appliance in response to at least one user selection via a touchscreen user interface in communication with the controller device. The touchscreen user interface has a display screen for displaying a series of main laundry cycle icons, each main laundry cycle icon being associated with a respective main laundry cycle capable of being implemented via the controller device. The series of main laundry cycle icons are scrollable across the display screen in opposing first and second scrolling directions, and each main laundry cycle icon is individually selectable as one of the at least one user selection via user touch interaction with the touchscreen user interface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a user interface in an image processor. In the method, at least one Region of Interest (ROI) is set on an image displayed on a screen. Location information of a renewed ROI and an image processing result based on to a location of the corresponding ROI are outputted whenever the location of the at least one ROI is renewed. An image of the at least one ROI is stored according to the image processing result. In the apparatus, a control unit extracts ROI information when the ROI is set on an image displayed on a screen, and displays location information of a renewed ROI whenever the location information of the ROI is renewed. An image signal processing unit converts the location information of the ROI extracted from the control unit into graphical data and performs image signal processing on the image of the ROI.

An area or region displayed on a screen of the device in the idle mode is contacted or activated to reveal at least one application icon associated with an active/unlocked state of the device. The region is moved, expanded or dragged to an edge of the device to change a state of the device to an active/unlocked mode and activate the revealed application.

The method includes: selecting a particular piece of music and a particular musical instrument from the portable terminal, according to a user request, and executing a music performance mode corresponding to the selected musical instrument; detecting a first input signal input to a screen according to the selected musical instrument in the musical performance mode; determining, if the first input signal is detected, whether a second input signal for executing audio source data is detected; analyzing the first and second input signals, in association with each other; and outputting audio source data of the selected music, according to the analyzed result, via audio signals.

Abstract: Optical storage media often contain data structures for a menu suitable for selection of a title,, a chapter, a parameter or others. Such menus usually comprise a number of buttons to be displayed, with each button having a state. Possible states of buttons are “unselected”, “selected” or “activated”. According to the invention, the representation of a menu button may vary, depending on its state. An image or an image sequence, e.g. cartoon, may be associated to a buttons state, providing user animation. Further, a sound or sound sequence, e.g. melody or click, may be associated to a buttons state, and may be played back when the button enters this state. A data structure is disclosed which allows storage of such menu data e.g. on a Blu-ray disc.

When the pointing position is on empty space between the objects, an appropriate one of the plurality of objects is highlighted (160). The parameter used to determine the object to be highlighted is at least the distance from the pointing position to the objects.

Abstract: A system for identifying prior selection of specific display information on an EPG. In one embodiment, a user selects an object on a screen, and upon selection of the object, an attribute of the object (e.g., color, transparency, etc.) is modified. The modified value is saved into memory so the user may later identify that the specific object was selected. Each subsequent selection will modify the attribute further, allowing the user to identity that the object was selected a number of times. In one embodiment, the attribute will continue to be modified until a specific expiration limit has been reached.
