Shutter Spring Mechanism For Opening Or Closing Patents (Class 720/743)
  • Patent number: 8164891
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing, an expansion card holder, and a protective cover assembly. The housing defines an opening. The expansion card holder is located inside the housing. The protective cover assembly includes a rotary shaft unit, and a cover rotatably connected to the main body via the rotary shaft unit. The cover includes a main body made of soft material, and an elastic member embedded in the main body. The main body includes a cover portion covering the opening, a resisting portion resisting against the housing, and a connecting portion interconnecting the cover portion and the resisting portion. The elastic member includes a first elastic arm and a second elastic arm. The first and the second elastic arms are embedded in the cover portion and the resisting portion, respectively. The elastic member provides a resilient force to the cover portion to open or seal the opening automatically.

  • Patent number: 8108885
Abstract: A disk cartridge includes: a pair of disk housing portions, housing a disk entirely when put together; a supporting base member with a disk housing rotating and supporting portion for rotating and supporting the housing portions to open or shut a window to the disk such that the disk gets chucked externally, and a head can access the disk and read and write information from/on the storage layer thereof, though the window; and a locking unit including a pair of locking lever portions to keep the housing portions closed from rotating and a locking lever supporting portion supporting the lever portions rotatably and attached to the base member, wherein the pair of disk housing portions open the window wide enough to remove the disk while the lock unit is not inserted into the supporting base member, and contact with the lock unit and have their angle of rotation limited while the lock unit is inserted into the supporting base member, thereby controlling the size of the window such that the disk is unremovable.

  • Patent number: 7526783
Abstract: A disk cartridge is provided which includes an optical disk (2), a cartridge body (5) having formed therein a head opening (13) through which a part of the optical disk (2) is exposed to outside in a range between the inner and outer radii thereof, a shutter member (15) supported movably on the cartridge body (5) to uncover and cover the head opening (13), and a two-way forcing mechanism (38) to force the shutter member (15) toward any selected one of positions to cover and uncover the head opening (13). The two-way forcing mechanism (38) forces the shutter member (15) toward any selected one of the positions to cover and uncover the head opening (13) correspondingly to a position of the shutter member (15) relative to the head opening (13).

  • Patent number: 7512961
Abstract: A disk cartridge is provided which houses an optical disk rotatably. It includes a cartridge body having formed therein a head opening through which a part of the optical disk is exposed to outside, and a shutter member supported movably on the cartridge body to uncover and cover the head opening. A first concavity is formed on a side of the cartridge body over which the shutter member slides and in a region opposite to a region where the shutter member is moved, across the head opening, a bent portion is formed along one lateral side of the shutter member to close a gap resulted between the shutter member and first concavity when the shutter member has been moved to a position to cover the head opening, and a second concavity deeper than the first concavity is formed at a part of the first concavity, adjacent to the head opening.

  • Patent number: 7103902
Abstract: A recording medium cartridge includes a disc, an inner rotor and a shutter in a shell. Torque is applied to the inner rotor by a coil spring to drive the shutter so as to maintain the closed state of an opening part provided in the shell. When the recording medium cartridge is inserted into a disc device, the inner rotor is rotated against the resilient force of the coil spring by a shutter opening mechanism provided in the disc recording and reproducing device. Thus, the shutter is moved to a position where the opening part provided in the shell is opened. When the cartridge is ejected from the disc device, the inner rotor is rotated by the resilient force of the coil spring to close the shutter.

  • Patent number: 6977797
Abstract: Possibility/impossibility of recording onto a recording medium accommodated in a cartridge is switched by moving a plug for preventing accidental deletion of information recorded on the recording medium along a bottom plate of a lower case. A projecting portion is formed at the plug. A flexible pin projects from an upper case so as to form a detent structure together with the projecting portion. At the time of joining together the upper and lower cases, even when the plug is positioned between a position which express possibility of recording and a position which express impossibility of recording, as the upper and lower cases are joined together, the pin relatively slides along an inclined surface formed at a top end of the projecting portion, and the plug moves to the position which makes recording possible. In this way, assemblability is good.
