  • Patent number: 6923084
Abstract: A device for increasing a selection force is integrated into a support arrangement of a shift lever. The device is pivotable around a pivot axis and also around a tilt axis aligned transversely to the pivot axis. The selection force upon pivoting movements of the shift lever around the tilt axis is produced by at least one lever that is movable against a spring and a runoff roller placed in operative connection with the lever (24, 38). The device is integrated into a support arrangement for pivotable support of the shift lever by a casing in a housing. The support arrangement supports the shift lever pivotably with respect to the casing around the pivot axis and also supports the shift lever with the casing pivotably with respect to the housing around the tilt axis aligned transversely to the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 6857335
Abstract: A manipulation lever can be manipulated to select a first mode for automatically changing the drive range of an automatic transmission or a second mode for changing the drive range by manually manipulating the manipulation lever. The manipulation lever is shifted between the first mode in which a control lever moves mechanically with the manipulation lever and the second mode in which the control lever does not move with the manipulation lever. Abstract: A motorized beach vehicle has a gear lever clutching structure for prevention of gear slip. The gear lever, the linking arm and the swing arm are connected to form a substantially “h”-shaped structure. The gear lever may be pivoted to combine the combination stud of the swing arm with the combination hole of the combination arm, so that the gear lever may be moved to shift the universal connector of the crank so as to change the speed. After the gear lever accomplishes the gear shifting work, the combination stud is detached from the combination hole of the combination arm. • Patent number: 6761084
Abstract: A gate-type shift lever device in which a pin is formed at a mounting piece formed at a back wall portion of a base, which pin axially supports a plate switch. Two levers are formed at the plate switch. A shift lever abuts and presses one of the levers during a shift operation from a “D” position to a “4” position. The shift lever abuts and presses another of the levers, during a shift operation from a “2” position to an “L” position. In accordance with rotation of the plate switch due to the pressing forces received by the levers, a holder contact moves transversely. Thus, the shift operations from the “D” position to the “4” position and from the “2” position to the “L” position can be detected.

Abstract: A selection system for an automatic motor vehicle transmission has a manual selector element which is locked or released by an oblique locking surface as a function of operating conditions. The oblique locking surface divides the manual forces of the selector element into a force component directed in the operating direction of the selector element and into a force component directed transversely thereto. Only this transversely directed force component can act upon additional locking surfaces if their surfaces have not yet been disengaged by an actuator arrangement before a manual operating force is exercised on the selector element.

Abstract: A shift lever device includes a shift lever which allows selection of an arbitrary shift range by shift operation and which is rotatably supported by a structure that breaks when an axial impact force above a preselected magnitude is applied to the shift lever. The breakage of the supporting structure allows safer absorption of an impact force applied to the shift lever. The breakable supporting structure may take the form of a portion of a thin portion of a circular wall forming a bearing that rotatably supports the shift lever, or a frangible pin or bracket that pivotably supports the shift lever.

In the first shift gate, automatic positions of the transmission can be selected using the selector lever, while gear ratios can be selected sequentially by the selector lever in the second shift gate. For that purpose, switches are provided in the second shift gate for detecting the sequential selection processes.

  • Patent number: 6247378
Abstract: A control device for an infinitely variable transmission includes a control lever that is movable along a guide slot and whose position within the slot indicates the commanded speed and direction. The control lever is moved forward from a zero speed position to a maximum forward speed position. Between the zero speed position and maximum forward speed position is a set point position corresponding to a set point speed. A set speed adjuster, such as a potentiometer, enables the operator to adjust the set point speed that is commanded when the control lever is placed in the set point position. The speed for positions of the control lever between the zero and the set point positions varies proportionally between zero and the set point speed. Likewise, the speed for positions of the control lever between the set point position and the maximum forward speed position varies proportionally between the set point speed and the maximum forward speed.
