Abstract: Household appliances, such as for laundry treatment, can be configured with a sump and an outlet having a barrier for foreign objects. Foreign objects such as pocket items can inadvertently be added to the appliance along with the wash items. A barrier secured in the opening of the outlet can prevent pocket items from entering the drain.

Abstract: A windshield wiper system (WWS) is provided and includes a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor with a motor output shaft gear, a gear train and an internally cut sector gear. The gear train includes a first gear, which has a first diameter and engages with the motor output shaft gear, and a second gear, which has a second diameter that is shorter than the first diameter and rotates with the first gear. The internally cut sector gear is coupled with an output shaft and formed to define an internal geared groove that engages with the second gear.
Abstract: A dumping system for a kiln floor having a pnematic cylinder to cause a plurality of rows of tray assemblies to move between a closed postion and an open position. A harmonizing bar assembly is connected to the rows of tray assemblies and acts to synchronize movement of the tray assemblies and locks the tray assemblies in a fully clsoed or open position. The linkage between the pneumatic cylinder and the rows of tray assemblies includes a device to adjust the connection with the shaft supporting the tray assemblies.
Abstract: A sprinkler (2) includes a rotary nozzle (6) mounted on a body (4). A reversible drive (12) includes an internal gear (14) connected to the nozzle (6), a motor (16) having a unidirectional output shaft (18), and an oscillating gear train (20) having two final drive gears (27) or (29) which rotate reversely relative to one another and are engageable with driven gear (14) for reversing the direction of nozzle rotation. The first and second final drive gears (27) and (29) are mounted on first and second pivot arms (22a) and (22b) and are part of two gear sets (26) or (28). The numbers of gears in each gear set (26) or (28) is selected in conjunction with the direction of the pivoting motion of the pivoting arms (22a) or (22b) so that the additional rotation induced on the final drive gears as they rotate above the stationary part of the gear train (20) will always be counter to the normal direction of rotation thereof.
Abstract: A copying apparatus includes device for reciprocally driving an original scanning device having a drive source movable in a predetermined direction, a movement converting device for converting the movement of the drive source into a reciprocal movement in which the time required for backward movement is shorter than the time required for forward movement, output device connected to the movement converting device to put out a reciprocal movement for driving the scanning device, and speed control device for controlling the speed of the forward movement of the movable member so as not to exceed a predetermined speed.
