Abstract: A coupling for an elongated handle and a tool head is provided. The coupling may be positioned at the handle upper end after the handle upper end has passed through the tool head eye. The coupling is a frustoconical shape which engages the tool head in a manner of a slip eye coupling. However, because the lower end of the handle does not pass through the tool head eye, the lower end of the handle, i.e., the grip, may have any shape. Thus, the present invention allows for use of a slip eye coupling while also allowing the handle grip to be of any shape.

Abstract: A striking tool is disclosed that comprises a generally U-shaped or V-shaped handle constructed of a substantially resilient material and having a head fixed at one end thereof. A second end of the handle has a hand grip or gripping region adapted to be grasped by a human hand. The second end of the U-shaped or V-shaped handle includes a flange, or stop member, to inhibit the handle from slipping out of the grasping hand. The hand grip may include a lip at a lower end thereof, such that a pinky finger of the hand may be comfortably placed on either side of the lip while the hand grasps the hand grip. The resilient material construction of the handle permits a first end of the handle to flex slightly towards and away from the second end of the handle. • Patent number: 7537532
Abstract: An implement for swinging in one's hands has an implement body. A handle extends from the implement body. The handle consists of two elongate handle members that generally abut against the other along substantially the length of the handle members. The handle members have inwardly sloped, converging sidewalls along at least one side of the handle where the handle members abut to form a longitudinal groove along substantially the length of the at least one side of the handle. The converging sidewalls are at least one of convex arcuate or planar surfaces. A method of swinging the implement may be performed by gripping the handle with both hands so that the hands are in a closely adjacent or touching adjacent position with at least the tip of one or more fingers lie generally in or along the longitudinal groove. The implement is then swung while holding the implement in both hands.
