The method includes the steps of locating the center of the window covering relative to a cutting station utilizing a half scale for removing a portion of the window covering from each of its ends.

Abstract: A work table for use with a chain saw comprises a flat-topped work surface having a slot defined therein through part of which an elongate member of a pivotal carrier unit extends uprightly and is movable longitudinally therein. The member has in vertical spaced relation to extend from the same side thereof, parallel to and above and below the remaining part of the slot respectively a chain saw guard and a chain saw mounting bracket. The outer end of a stationary link arrangement is to engage around the throttle of a chain saw. With a chain saw fitted with its cutter bar extending upwards through the slot parallel to the member and clamped in mounting bracket, the throttle ready to be engaged and chain saw energized, movement of a workpiece to be cut against the chain saw mill move the pivotal unit with the chain saw about its pivot to cause the throttle to be depressed to activate the blade of the cutter bar.
Abstract: High-speed spooling machines for yarn or thread are subject to the difficulty that, if the yarn or thread should break between a yarn cleaning, that is, size sensing and cutting apparatus and the takeup spool, stray remnant filamentary pieces may occur due to operation of the cutter apparatus since the thread size sensing apparatus may provide an erroneous "cut" signal upon absence of any thread in the sensing field. To prevent such operation, a thread sensing element is interposed in the path of the thread being spooled which, upon break of thread, will provide a "no tension" signal which will be below a predetermined threshold level. This signal is then used to inhibit operation of the cutter, regardless of the output of the thread size sensing element.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a roll paper cutting arrangement for use in mechanical equipment employing a roll of paper to be cut into predetermined length for use, and including cutter which is caused to function by switching members sequentially actuated in a predetermined relation with the feeding amount of the paper drawn from the roll at a predetermined transportation speed, with the cut length of the paper being made variable through selective use of the switching members. The cutting arrangement is provided with memory component to be actuated by the functioning of the selected switching members for maintaining predetermined memory state, and signal producing component for generating cutter actuation signal following the functioning of the memory component.
Abstract: A table-saw having dual guards, one being that for the saw to run the guard must always be in correct vertical and horizontal operating position covering the whirling saw blade, and the other being that the saw is automatically shut off after a waiting period in the event that the operator is not actually working at a sawing operation. There is a manual over-ride switch for hard-to-do jobs subject to the security of lock and key.
