Abstract: A device for cutting a sub-finished assembly (1) of plastic lens (10) includes a cutting member (2) and a holding member (3). The cutting member has a base (20), an upper plate (21), an upper cutter (23) mounted on the upper plate, a lower plate (22), a lower cutter (24) mounted on the lower plate, guiding posts (25) mounted on the base and guiding the movement of the upper and the lower plates, and a stopper (26). The upper plate moves toward the lens before the lower plate and until the upper cutter contacts the cutting point beside the lens. The stopper stops the upper plate from further moving after the upper cutter contacts the cutting point beside the lens. The lower cutter is moved by the lower plate to cut the lens from the sub-finished assembly of the lens. The holding member holds the lens during cutting.

Abstract: The invention concerns a device for die-cutting a stack of sheet-like materials, particularly labels, whereby the stack is pressed into the die-cutter blade by a relative movement of a punching ram and a hollow cylindrical die-cutter blade. For such a device, it is proposed that the stack (8) to be punched be positioned between a limiting element (88) and a moveable slide-in unit 21 is positioned against a stop (89), and the limiting element (88) and the stop (89) are moveable. This type of construction of the die-cutting device ensures an optimal positioning of the stack in area of the pinching ram, independent of varying stack sizes.

Abstract: The cutting apparatus according to the present invention is adapted to cut off with a pair of cutting members a part to be cut off of each lateral seal portion of series-connected packaged bags in which packaged bags containing a material sealed therein by heat sealing a packaging film are continuously formed, the cutting members being formed of a rotatably provided rotary blade, and a receiving blade provided so as to face the rotary blade, the receiving blade being provided with a transfer mechanism adapted to be moved forward and rearward synchronously with a rotation of the rotary blade. Therefore, the series-connected packaged bags can be transferred with the portions swollen due to a packed material of the bags not contacting the receiving blade. This enables the cutting apparatus to transfer the series-connected packaged bags stably without hurting the packaging film.

The lower die has a hollow bore which is in confrontation with the projecting tip. When the upper die is moved toward the lower die on which the workpiece is laid, the pad holds the workpiece and the upper die drives the punch so that the projecting tip of the punch pierces the workpiece by being driven into the hollow bore. The elastic member is deformable and allows the punch to shift laterally so that the projecting tip and the hollow bore are in accurate coaxial alignment.

A series of press plates are mounted for vertical movement with the cutting blade to resiliently bear against the top of the food while being cut to prevent upward tilting of the pieces being severed.

Abstract: Dough which is to be formed into small volumes for later baking into bread, etc. is moved from a mass of dough in the lower portion of a hopper by a pair of helical screws, through a conduit, first to a metering means and then through a dispensing nozzle. A paddle reciprocates through an arc adjacent the dispensing nozzle and on its downward stroke is oscillated so that its lower edge abuts the dispensing nozzle to sever the dough moved through the dispensing nozzle away from the oncoming dough, and then oscillates away from the dispensing nozzle as it returns to its ready position. The downward severing movement of the paddle is initiated by the metering means.

  • Patent number: 4048885
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting a continuously moving sheet material in which a nozzle for directing a jet stream of fluid under high pressure is driven in predetermined directions along a closed track consisting of a pair of straight paths intersecting each other symmetrically at a predetermined angle relative to the cutting direction of the sheet material and a pair of curved paths connecting the associated ends of the straight paths. In the method and apparatus, the moving velocity of the jet nozzle is controlled as a function of the feeding velocity of the sheet material and the desired length of sheets cut from the sheet material, and the energy of the fluid under high pressure directed from the moving jet nozzle toward the sheet material is utilized to cut the sheet material into the sheets of desired length.

  • Patent number: 4022088
Abstract: Transformer core sheets are cut out by selectively intermittently advancing a metal strip and cutting off the ends at various angles by changing the cutting angle of a swivel-type cutting shear. Trapezoidal or parallelogram pieces are cut by cutting off the lengths of strip along shear lines alternately at 90.degree. to each other. Hexagonal pieces are formed by severing the strip with one oblique cut, spacing the stock and the cut-off piece lengthwise from each other, and then cutting off a tip on each piece by a single cut that bridges the gap between the pieces, at 90.degree. to the previous cut. For this purpose, the cut-off piece may be advanced or the stock retracted, or both, to space apart the stock and the cut-off piece. A further cutter, at right angles to strip travel, may be provided for cutting off tips of the workpieces previously obliquely cut, at right angles to the direction of strip movement.
