  • Patent number: 4292870
Abstract: Multi-parallel channels of a guide plate support inset slidable tracks. A wood working tool is dependingly mounted to the tracks for translation past a workpiece temporarily fixedly secured to the guide plate and works the workpiece along a true line dictated by the sliding fit and translation of the tracks within the channels. In a variant, the wood working tool is positionally fixed to the guide plate and the workpiece, secured to tracks within the channels, is translated past the wood working tool to work a true line.

  • Patent number: 4206668
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting a block of foamed material to the size of a laminate adhered thereto includes a support table and a carrier frame pivotally attached to the table. The carrier frame carries an electrical resistance wire and maintains same constantly under tension. The frame is vertically swingable to pass the wire through the foamed material along a clearly delineated line with respect to which the block is precisely located. This line is in registry with a transverse groove in the table which divides its supporting surface into sections on either side thereof and at right angles to an upstanding guide member extending along one side edge of the table.

  • Patent number: 4170914
Abstract: A chewing gum dispenser is described wherein a rectangular box having a top, a bottom, two sides, a front and a rear end is dimensioned to contain a plurality of sticks of gum when the sticks of gum are stacked one upon another within the interior of the box. The front end of the box has a slot extending from one side of the box to the other side adjacent to the top of the box. The box has an elongated hole in its top surface and a spring attached to the bottom of the box and extending within the interior of the box toward the top surface. The spring urges sticks of gum within the box toward the top such that the uppermost stick of gum fits against the inside of the top of the box resulting in a portion of the top stick of gum being exposed through the elongated hole. By frictionally engaging the top stick of gum with a finger inserted through the elongated hole the top stick of gum can be partially pushed out of the box through the slot.

  • Patent number: 4148344
Abstract: A portable sawmill system comprising at least three wheeled, independently movable modules is disclosed. The modules are independently maneuverable to a land site having a ready source of logs to be processed and are arranged in a preselected geometrical configuration adjacent one another and the source of logs. A log from the source is received on the first module and debarked. The debarked log is moved axially and transversely off the first module and onto a second module. A plurality of saw means are carried by the second module to form boards from a log being processed. A third module is located at the output side of the second module and is adapted to receive and further process the boards formed on the second module.

  • Patent number: 4046045
Abstract: A device for preparing a flat multi-conductor ribbon cable, having a plurality of conductors of circular cross section, for termination into a flat cable connector. A pair of meshing cutters, at least one of which is movable, are engaged with the ribbon cable between them. The cutters shear the cable webs, joining the individual conductor insulating jackets for a predetermined lengthwise distance along the flat cable, the individual blades of the cutter being configured to shear webs between adjacent conductors or alternatively between the web separating groups of a predetermined number of conductors. Each blade of each cutter has at least one concave depression engaging the individual round conductors to stabilize them during the shearing operation. At least one of the meshing cutters has a convex curvature in a plane parallel to the lengthwise dimension of the ribbon cable to minimize the required shearing force and hazard of cable damage.
