Patent number: 8146472Abstract: A paper cutting device, for cutting multiple sheets of paper stacked in layers on a table, comprises a paper retainer (2) descending from an upper side along a guide and a cutter (3) diagonally ascending from the lower side. A receiving part (18) is mounted on the lower surface of a paper retaining frame (20). The receiving part (18) is formed by joining a base plate (36) with a large elastic modulus such as a metal to a resin receiving plate (37). A slip prevention structure is installed on the junction surfaces of the base plate (36) and the receiving plate (37) to suppress the extension/retraction of the receiving part of the paper retainer so as to prevent wrinkles from occurring in the paper near a blade receiving surface when the paper is cut off.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Daido Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuo Nishimura, Toshiyuki Majima

Patent number: 7819045Abstract: The invention provides a hole punch structure. More particularly, one end of an exposed longitudinal handle is moved together with a slide rod in a hole-punching mechanism covered by a casing. Thus, when the other end of the handle is pressed down, the slide rod is also moved transversely, a push rod connected to the slide rod is also moved, and a tool shelf is pressed vertically downward to achieve a hole-punching operation of a punching post. This hole punch structure works according to the principle of lever of the longitudinal handle.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2007Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Inventor: Chun-Yuan Chang

Patent number: 7469622Abstract: A paper cutting machine is provided for cutting a plurality of sheets of paper stacked one upon another on a table, including a paper support (2) that moves down from above along longitudinal beams (19, 19) and a cutter (3) that moves up from below in an oblique direction. The paper support (2) has a rest (18) for receiving a cutting edge of the cutter. The rest (18) is moved in a predetermined pitch whenever the number of strokes of the cutter (3) reaches a predetermined number. Accordingly, even when the cutting edge of the cutter cuts into the rest and becomes deteriorated, the cutter need not be exchanged immediately, the life of the rest can be lengthened and the number of sheets cut before exchange is necessary can be drastically improved.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2005Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Daido Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuo Nishimura, Toshiyuki Majima

Patent number: 7013783Abstract: A slide cam die including a slide cam base, a wedge-shaped slide cam sliding on a guide surface of the slide cam base and mounting a press tool such as a punch or a trimming blade thereon, and an actuating cam driving the slide cam in contact therewith. A press tool is mounted on the slide cam with an adapter plate interposed therebetween. With this configuration, when a pierce punch, or a flange block, or the like, needs to be removed for reasons such as the adjustment, the pierce punch or the flange block can be individually demounted without removing the entire slide cam. This results in reduced working time. In addition, since only the adapter plate is replaced, cost savings can be achieved by reusing the slide cam. Furthermore, a given slide cam can be used while still maintaining flexibility in design and use of the slide cam die.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2003Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Assignee: Umix Co., LTDInventor: Mitsuo Matsuoka

Patent number: 5195412Abstract: A cutoff system for exterior siding which includes a flying punch and shear. The system includes a main carriage which is adapted to reciprocate and, in one direction of travel, move at the same speed as the siding to be cut. A pair of punches are then actuated to form the hanger and butt notches at the lateral edges of the siding. Upon withdrawal of the punches, the travel of the main cylinder is slowed such that the siding travels away from the punching area. Upon sensing the notched areas, the main carriage is again moved to travel at the same speed as the siding. The speed is timed such that the center of the notches is located below a shear. This shear is then actuated to form a single parting line across the siding. The carriage is then retracted to await the next cycle of the system. As such, with each cycle of the system, the notches are formed in the trailing and leading edges of adjacent panel segments, and the leading panel segment cut from the continuous siding.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1991Date of Patent: March 23, 1993Assignee: Plastics Extrusion MachineryInventors: Peter D. Patent number: 5016505Abstract: A spring return mechanism for returning the movable blade and connected slide plate to their at rest position in a flying shear. The device is positioned outboard of the movable and fixed blades, each of which has mating and alignable apertures through which long lengths of stock material to be sheared into shorter segments are continuously fed. Each device includes an upright elongated spring housing, a compression spring acting within the housing, and a guide button which moves up and down within the housing to return the slide plate and connected movable blade back to their at rest position immediately after each shearing. The guide button has an upper end which allows the slide plate to move or slide diagonally downward against the guide buttons following the diagonal motion of the movable blade during each cutting cycle.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1989Date of Patent: May 21, 1991Inventor: Ward W. Patent number: 4981060Abstract: A roll forming apparatus disclosed has a series of roll forming stations with a first group of stations having rollers that are adjustable to different width settings using the same rollers to form more than one width of ogee type gutter. A cutter uses interchangeable cutting blades and die plates for shearing different gutter sizes to selected lengths. The cutter uses a rotary drive member to move the blade in a path having a relatively short stroke that performs a scissor-like cutting action to successively cut the walls of the formed gutters for each revolution of the rotary drive member. A crank member for manually moving the cutter blade is collapsible and the crank handle is demountable for transport purposes.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1989Date of Patent: January 1, 1991Inventor: Gary A.
