Silencers Patents (Class 89/14.4)
  • Patent number: 11933567
Abstract: A firearm suppressor with an integral muzzle brake that combines elements of muzzle brake, which comprises a plurality of radial/lateral ports that divert the high pressure propellant gas at an angle approximately perpendicular to the travel of the projectile thus reducing the recoil, with elements of a suppressor, which employs a plurality of axial baffles, each of which reduces the pressure, velocity and temperature of the propellant gas and before the gas is exhausted thus reducing the noise. Each individual axial stage has multiple subsequent radial/lateral chambers such that each axial stage has elements of a complete suppressor. Multiple expansion chambers each have an orifice connecting one expansion chamber to the next, and eventually vents to the external atmosphere. The exhaust port vents to the atmosphere and is directed radially or can be directed rearward to even further reduce the recoil in a similar fashion to a muzzle brake.

  • Patent number: 11162754
Abstract: Disclosed is an integrally suppressed barrel which in an embodiment includes a firearm barrel, an outer sleeve, a front end cap, and a plurality of mesh layers. The firearm barrel has at least one set of hole groups to provide venting of propellant gas to a first space between the firearm barrel and the outer sleeve. At least one hole of at least one of the sets of hole groups is sized and threaded to mate with a removable socket head plug and are configurable by the user to vent, or to not vent, based both upon attributes of the ammunition desired for use and upon the desired degree of suppression. The holes of the at least one set of hole groups are elements of an open path for the gas, from behind a fired projectile, to outside the integrally suppressed barrel, as the projectile traverses the bore of the firearm barrel. Movement of the gas vented from forward holes dampens movement of the gas vented from rear holes. The plurality of mesh layers is located in the first space.

Abstract: A suppressor, an integrally suppressed barrel system, and a method for coupling a suppressor to a firearm barrel are provided. In an embodiment, a suppressor is configured to have two distinct fittings, each of which provides a point of contact for coupling with a firearm barrel. The suppressor or integrally suppressed barrel system may comprise an expansion chamber with an expansion chamber baffle and wire mesh to alter the sonic characteristics of a report associated with the discharging of a firearm. In some embodiments, the expansion chamber baffle may be movable, allowing for modification to the sonic properties of a cold bore shot vis-à-vis subsequent shots. The method for coupling the suppressor to the firearm barrel includes engaging first and second threaded portions of the firearm barrel with corresponding threaded inner surfaces of first and second suppressor fittings.

  • Patent number: 10794652
Abstract: An integrally suppressed firearm in one embodiment includes a rear firing portion defining an axial projectile bore and front suppressor portion. The suppressor portion includes a longitudinal stack of sound suppression baffles each defining a gas expansion chamber in fluid communication with the projectile bore. A mounting rod extends rearward from a front end cap of the suppressor portion and threadably engages a mounting adapter that removably couples the suppressor portion to the firing portion. A muzzle cap disposed inside a rearmost baffle removably couples the mounting adapter to the firing portion. When tightened, the rod axially compresses the baffle stack and forms a combustion gas tight enclosure without need for an additional external pressure retention tube or sleeve. The baffles are configured to form a press-fit frictional interlock with each other such that the baffle stack is self-supporting. An optional accessory rail may be coupled to the adapter.
