  • Patent number: 11754363
Abstract: The present disclosure incorporates a spinning rotor/mass, a single or multiple gimballed points on one gimballed axis and to the focus the power of precession to “physically” provide resistance against the movements of the device it is attached to. That is why this device is called a Gimballed Precession Stabilization System. A Gimballed Precession Motor(s) of the present disclosure can be placed in a single or in multiple positions on a Firearm to achieve resistance to an angular change. A Gimballed Precession Motor(s) may be used in one or more positions depending on the desired angular constraint. The motor can be self-contained and can be designed to rotate at a high speed and allow the pivoting of the device on its mounting Gimbal Pivot Axis.

  • Patent number: 11493300
Abstract: An aiming method for a weapon system including a weapon secured to a chassis, as well as an aiming device implementing such a method. The weapon system includes a computer having in an internal memory a nominal firing profile defined by the extreme elevation and relative bearing aiming instructions that are possible for the weapon, in the reference frame associated with the chassis, when the latter is in a firing position on a horizontal ground. The boundaries of the nominal firing profile are converted so as to determine a transformed firing profile which is delimited by the extreme directions of fire that are possible in the reference frame of the chassis when the latter is in the firing position on the field, and finally the operating firing profile is determined for the aiming, which is defined as the geometric intersection of the nominal firing profile and the transformed firing profile.

  • Patent number: 7600462
Abstract: A gimbaled weapon system (GWS) implements methods for identifying and tracking a target. In one aspect, the sighting system of the GWS moves independently in elevation from the weapon cradle and tracks a target while the weapon cradle and attached weapon are maintained in a non-hostile position, such as a stowed or vertical position. In another aspect, the method uses a system of networked sensors in communication with an observation unit for the GWS. The sighting system is elevated using a second elevation drive to acquire a target based on signals received the system of networked sensors. The network sensors provide coordinates of probable targets, which can trigger automatic tracking of the target or an alarm to notify the operator of a probable target.

  • Patent number: 7597041
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a weapon having an eccentrically-pivoted barrel (1) that is mounted on a movable base (2), and to a method of elevating and stabilizing such a barrel. A drive mechanism (3) acts between the barrel and the base to permit and enable the elevation of the barrel relative to the base to be selectively changed. A compensation device acts between the barrel and base to compensate for the unbalance of the barrel. The compensation device includes a gyroscope (13) mounted on the barrel and arranged to provide an output signal, a set point generator (12), a closed-loop control device (10) and an actuating element (16). The actual position of the barrel is sensed by the gyroscope, which supplies its output signal to the set point generator. The set point generator produces a set force value as a function of the gyroscope output signal.

  • Patent number: 6497171
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for the correction of dynamic gun errors. Dynamic gun errors are caused by the movement of a gun tube muzzle area (3) of a gun (1) in the course of continuous firing. To correct these errors, a measurement of the movement of a gun tube muzzle area (3) of a gun (1) is performed during continuous firing for obtaining measured signals. The measured signals are used for correcting the azimuth and elevation of the gun tube (2) in order to compensate the movement of a gun tube muzzle area (3).
