The filter exhibits low resistance or a low pressure drop and resists fluid flow, whereby the higher than ambient pressure is not substantially diminished and generates a fluid flow in the fluid flow path tending to carry smoke to and through the filter.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: JLJ Medical Devices International, LLCInventors: Leonard S. Patent number: 7252704Abstract: A filter arrangement includes a first filter element having opposite first and second ends; an axial length between the first and second ends; and a plurality of flutes. Each of the flutes has a first end portion adjacent to the first filter element first end, and a second end portion adjacent to the first filter element second end. Selected ones of the flutes are open at the first end portion and closed at the second end portion; and selected ones of the flutes are closed at the first end portion and open at the second end portion. A sleeve member secured to and circumscribing the first filter element. The sleeve member is oriented relative the first filter element to extend at least 30% of the axial length of the first filter element. A seal member pressure flange at least partially circumscribes the sleeve member. The filter arrangement is particularly useful for gas turbine systems. Methods for operating and servicing filter arrangements preferably utilize constructions herein.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2006Date of Patent: August 7, 2007Assignee: Donaldson Company, Inc.Inventors: Joseph C. Patent number: 7223298Abstract: A filter assembly is disclosed for use in connection with the filtration of products transported via pipelines, including high pressure gas pipelines. The disclosed filter assembly is comprised of a plurality of filter modules, a series of valves, inlet and outlet ports, connective piping, and spool pieces. The filter assembly will temporarily redirect flow from the pipeline, through one or more filter assemblies, and back into the original pipeline a short distance downstream from the original takeout point. If flanged connections are not readily available for a particular section of pipeline, the filter assembly can be connected to virtually any section of pipe through “hot tapping” technology, which allows a valve to be placed on an active and pressurized section of pipeline.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2005Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: PGR Filters, L.L.C.Inventors: Keith Platt, Jon Carnell

Patent number: 7182799Abstract: A filter assembly having a plurality, preferably at least substantially vertically mounted, longitudinal elongated filter elements that are suitable for separating fluid from solid particles, having an open upper end sealed into a sealing device and a closed bottom end attached to a filter support that is mounted on a filter grid, in which the filter grid has a plurality of grid elements together forming a grid, wherein at least a portion of the cross-section of the grid elements between two adjacent filter elements is pointiform. The invention further pertains to a filter grid and a filter vessel containing at least one filter assembly.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2003Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Assignee: Shell Oil CompanyInventor: Hubertus Wilhelmus Albertus Dries

Patent number: 7160355Abstract: A method of regenerating at least one diesel particle filter, in which exhaust gas is introduced through a supply line into the at least one diesel particle filter and is discharged from it through a discharge line, while heating of the exhaust gas flowing through the at least one diesel particle filter takes place, a closed circulating air circuit being created through which exhaust gas emerging from the at least one diesel particle filter may be introduced back into the latter.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2002Date of Patent: January 9, 2007Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Dietmar Steiner

Patent number: 7122065Abstract: An adapter for use with a low volume PUF sampler is described. The adapter is affixed over the open end of a PUF (polyurethane foam) sample cartridge. Sample tubing is affixed to an aperture in the adapter, and the free end of the sample tubing is then positioned at a desired sample location such as within an aircraft interior. As a vacuum is applied to the PUF cartridge, the adapter allows air collected at the sample point to pass through the tubing and through the interior of the PUF cartridge while preventing air surrounding the PUF cartridge from being drawn into the PUF cartridge except through the sample tubing. In this manner the sample point of a desired air sample can be selected at a point remote from the PUF cartridge. Additionally, use of multiple PUF cartridges and adapters allows the simultaneous collection of separate air samples.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2004Date of Patent: October 17, 2006Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventor: Richard B. Patent number: 7074250Abstract: An air filtration unit for use in a work environment includes a housing disposed with an air filtration system and light source. The housing includes a handle and corner caps to prevent damage and provide stability. The air filtration system draws air into the housing, via a blower, through a first and second inlet gate, the air is at least partially filtered by a first and second filter assembly, which provide a two stage filtering, and then the at least partially filtered air is blown through an exhaust conduit back out into the work environment.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2003Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Todd Chipner, Mark A. Patent number: 6997974Abstract: A coalescing assembly for coalescing entrained oil from a high temperature, high velocity gas stream comprises a coalescing element of compacted high temperature polyamide fibers, such as those available under the trademark Nomex®, rigidly held by concentric cylindrical support structures of a dense fibrous material such as stainless steel. The coalescing assembly forms a component of an oil coalescer having a unique hole configuration in its outer shell to prevent coalesced oil from being re-entrained into the gas stream. The oil coalescer is a component of an oil separator for use in aircraft operational environments and features high durability and longevity of 10 years or more.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2004Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventors: Trung N.
