Tree Patents (Class D11/118)
  • Patent number: 4968541
Abstract: An artificial Christmas tree adapted to hang from a support structure such as a hook attached to the ceiling of a room or a center post during the Christmas season and to be quickly and easily collapsed and placed in a box, while still decorated with ornamentations such as colored balls, electrical lights and garland, for storage purposes, during the non-Christmas seasons. The collapsible artificial tree comprises a plurality of circular, concentric, limb sections connected together through flexible suspension means, each limb section being assembled in spaced-apart relationship and being of different external diameters. When assembled concentrically through use of the flexible suspension means, the limb sections gradually increase in diameter along an axis common to all of the limb sections with the limb section having the largest diameter being at the bottom of the tree and the limb section having the smallest diameter being near the top of the tree when the tree is suspended in its display position.

  • Patent number: 4939004
Abstract: Christmas tree ornaments for attachment to a conventional natural or artificial Christmas tree include representations of a pair of human hands and a human head. Each of the ornaments are formed from a translucent plastic material and have an internal electric light. An elongated telescopically adjustable strut is secured to each of the ornaments and has a plurality of spaced spring biased clamps. The clamps are utilized to secure the ornaments to a tree. Power cords from the electric lights within each ornament extend through the associated strut. The ornaments include representations of a human head and hands to enable decoration of a tree to simulate various famous individuals and fictional characters.

  • Patent number: 4937107
Abstract: A decorative wall hanging includes a molded, substantially rigid shell formed of plastic material, the shell being shaped to provide a simulated Christmas tree portion with an ornament on the top and a base on the lower end. The shell provides a forward face covered by a simulated pine garland to simulate a Christmas tree appearance. The shell provides a plurality of randomly located openings surrounded by generally cylindrical bores. A string of electric lights is mounted on the shell with sockets supported and adhesively secured in the bores. The bulbs project from the sockets forwardly of the bores and are at least partially covered by the garland so that the light from the bulbs is diffused. The ornaments can be tested for compact shipment and storage. For larger wall ornaments, the shell can be assembled in more than one piece.

  • Patent number: 4855167
Abstract: A plurality of artificial trees placed in combination with a plurality of vehicle parking spaces, the parking spaces being disposed in an array of adjacently disposed parking spaces forming a parking area. The trees further include a base with an open cylinder for receiving the trunk of a tree and holding the tree in an upright position. The base is positioned at one lateral side of a parking space so that each base is positioned across the parking space from an adjacent base. Branches are attached at the top of the trunk at about six feet above ground level. The branches are disposed to extend across about one-half the width of each of the adjacently disposed parking spaces. The entire parking space is shaded from the sun by the branches of the tree.

  • Patent number: 4748058
Abstract: An artificial tree assembly, and a tree constructed therefrom, are provided. The assembly comprises a collapsible three-piece pole; a base member formed by the bottom of a box for storing the tree assembly and including a pole support member secured thereto for supporting the pole; and a plurality of limb sections and interconnecting garlands. The limb-sections each comprise a central ring portion and a plurality of limb members extending radially outwardly from the central ring portions. The ring portions of the limb sections are stacked, when not in use, on the pole support member and are disposed, in use, along the length of pole in spaced relationship therealong. The garlands interconnect the limb portions so that as the ring portions are lifted, from the top, from the stacked positions thereof on the pole support member and slid along the pole, the garlands between adjacent limb section are tensioned, in turn, and thus serve to lift the next adjacent limb section until the tree is fully erected.

  • Patent number: 4612219
Abstract: A mobile-type Christmas tree (10) conveying the impression of Christmas ornaments (13) hung upon an invisible coniferous tree is disclosed. The mobile (10) includes an overhead support (11), and a multiplicity of filaments (12) depending from the overhead support (11). A multiplicity of ornaments (13) are attached to the filaments (12). The above ornament length of the filaments (12) increases in outward radial progression from the center of the overhead support (11) so that the ornaments (13) are supported in spaced locations such that the peripheral ornaments define the invisible tree's branches and, thus, the shape of the tree.

  • Patent number: 4415953
Abstract: A tree-simulating illuminated decorative device, which includes an upper frame member, a plurality of light-conducting rod shaped elements having first axial extremities carried on an upper frame member, a lamp mounted proximate to the upper frame member for illuminating the first axial extremity of each of the rod shaped elements, and a plurality of sprays of optic fibers. A spray is in light communicating relationship with each of the rod shaped elements. In another form of the invention a tree-simulating illuminated decorative device includes an upper frame member and a plurality of light-conducting bough members, each having a first axial extremity fixed to the upper frame member. The locus of the connections between each of the light-conducting bough elements and the upper frame members may be a circle. The light-conducting elements may extend both downwardly and radially outwardly from the upper frame member.
