Abstract: A charged motor is configured to apply a retarded electromagnetic field to generate a force. The charged motor has a first element having a non-zero charge density and a second element having a non-zero current density (I). The interaction of the charge density and the current density generates a force (II) and a momentum (III).
Abstract: System and method for locating a fault on a line comprises a sampler that samples a pulse from the fault, the sampling being carried out at a predetermined sampling rate. A differentiator produces a differential or derivative of the pulse, and an analyzer obtains timing information from the derivative, from which it is possible to locate the fault knowing the total length of the line and the wave propagation rate.
Abstract: The transaction card of the invention comprises a Card Verification Value (CVV) generator unit that generates a new CVV code each time the card user is invited to enter his CVV code, typically in a remote transaction. The CVV code is displayed on a screen on the transaction card. The screen can be a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen or any similar or newer display technology.

Abstract: A propulsion system is presented, the system comprising primary and secondary electromagnetic field generators being attached to a frame at a predetermined distance between them, and a control unit connected thereto and configured to create pulsating electromagnetic fields generated by at least one of the electromagnetic field generators. The pulsating electromagnetic field is configured to pulsate at time intervals determined in accordance with retardation time caused by said predetermined distance between the primary and secondary electromagnetic field generators. Interaction between the electromagnetic field generators and electromagnetic fields generated thereby provides a total net force acting on the system.
Abstract: A method of numerical simulation of fluid flow past a body. The physics of stationary flow is formulated in terms of a potential functional of at most four scalar fields: three Clebsch scalar fields and a density field. The physics of non-stationary flow is formulated in terms of an action that includes an action integral of a Lagrangian functional of the same four scalar fields and an initial and a final integral of a function of the same four scalar fields. The values of the fields are varied to extremize the potential functional or the action, under the constraint of appropriate boundary conditions. Potential functionals and Lagrangian functionals for compressible and incompressible flows with zero velocity normal to the surface of the body, and for potential flows, are described.
Abstract: A generator comprises a parallel plate capacitor which in turn is made up of a mobile plate and a stationary plate, the plates facing each other in parallel at their internal faces. The mobile plate moves up and down due to an external mechanical force to increase and decrease the gap between the plates, leading to a change in the capacitance between the mobile plate and the stationary plate. The internal faces of the plates have dielectric surfaces, for example formed by oxidizing. The generator is useful for example for small-scale mobile devices such as wearables, and to any device where motion is available to transform into electricity.
Abstract: An electromagnetic pulse generating apparatus including an elongated flexible tube having an inflated mode and a non-inflated mode, wherein a cross section of said tube perpendicular to the elongation axis is larger when inflated mode than when not-inflated. The tube is placed inside an electrically conductive coil wound along the elongated axis and electrically connected to an output connector, and an opening connected to a source of a hydraulic and/or pneumatic pressure. A magnetic field generating apparatus provides a magnetic flux parallel to coil axis. Where the tube is operative to receive the pressure into the opening, causing the tube to inflate, thus causing change of cross-section area of the coil within the magnetic flux, thus generating an electromagnetic pulse at the output connector.

Abstract: A transaction card with improved security features, comprising: an authentication unit and a magnetic stripe wherein parts of the magnetic field pattern of said magnetic stripe are generated by currents running through coils only after the authentication unit authenticates the transaction card holder. One or more sensors detect attempts to read the card by two magnetic heads, and block the card if a cloning attempt is suspected. The transaction card is thus closed for transactions in a normal state, and the magnetic information is not readable. Only after the card holder authentication, then currents are run through the coils to generate the magnetic information and make the magnetic stripe readable by commercial devices. Authentication means may include entering a PIN via a keyboard, entering a PIN via a keypad, voice recognition identification of one or more voices, biometric identification, or identification via a connection to a remote device.

Abstract: The present invention describes a device and a method for grading diamonds using electromagnetic fields with a radiofrequency or terahertz frequency. The method for grading diamonds comprises placing the diamond (4) into a grading device, applying an electromagnetic field with a frequency range of up to 30 THz to the diamond, recording a modulated signal received from the diamond in a form of S-parameters as a function of frequency or any other parameter that can be deduced by applying said electromagnetic field, processing the recorded signal in the processing unit to obtain data containing information about either an amplitude, or phase, or both of the recorded S-parameters as a function of frequency or said any other parameter, performing calculations relating to the obtained data, and running a computer algorithm correlating the calculated data to either nitrogen concentration, boron concentration or plastic deformation in diamonds, thereby allowing grading of the diamond.
