Abstract: A disc opener unit for an agricultural implement has a down pressure adjustment device that automatically adjusts the amount of down pressure applied on a furrowing disc based on strain measurements taken by a strain gauge or load cell. The strain gauge, which may be mounted to an arm that is used to set the position of a depth setting gauge wheel, provides feedback to a processor that in turn controls the amount of hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic cylinder to adjust the down force applied on the disc. The amount of down pressure is therefore adjusted in substantially real-time in response to changes in field conditions, which improves furrow depth consistency and reduces wear on the gauge wheel and its components.

Abstract: A harvester or combine includes a folding corn head with a center section and folding wing sections. A folding row separator cover at the hinge location of the folding head sections folds to an angled position so that the folding action between the wings and the center section is not impaired. A single assembly actuates the folding of the row separator as well as locking and unlocking of the wing sections relative to the center frame section. A hydraulic cylinder actuates a main link that connects to the row separator cover and also to a lock pin. Actuation of the hydraulic cylinder pulls the extended end of the main link rearward and upward to raise the cover. The same motion also pulls the locking pin forward from engagement. Retraction of the hydraulic cylinder rod lowers the extended end of the frame of the main link and pulls the cover downward while also moving the lower portion of the main link rearward to engage the locking pin with the frame.

Abstract: A device for melting cheese in a microwave or oven and then shaping the melted cheese into a bowl-shape form as it cools and hardens to contain salads, snacks, eggs, and the like. The self-supporting base component has dowel-affixing mechanisms to couple a sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material taut over the hollow center of the self-supporting base. A layer of cheese is placed on the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material and melted in a microwave or oven. Once melted and removed from the microwave or oven, the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material is decoupled and the bowl-shape form is pressed into the melted cheese on the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material and into the void beneath the self-supporting base component, conforming the cheese to the bowl-shape form. The cheese cools and hardens permanently taking on the bowl shape.

Abstract: A polymer stall divider for a barn will permit lateral flexing when a cow presses against the stall divider while the stall divider asserts a lateral force against the cow to urge the cow to move into a proper position between adjacent stall dividers without causing injury to the cow. The polymer stall divider can be formed of a polymer material clad onto the outer surface of a steel structural member and then bent into shape to form the desired configuration. The divider can be formed in sections with adjacent sections being connected by an internal connector formed of selected materials to provide the desired flexibility and durability characteristics. A mounting bracket formed of a pair of opposing clam shells can be utilized to secure the stall divider to the frame of the barn, thus providing an easily installed divider structure.
