  • Patent number: 10597263
Abstract: A trolley for a lifting device with lifting gear arranged on a support frame and wheels which are mounted on the support frame, via which the trolley can be moved on a support, and at least one first wheel of which is mounted on an axle. The axle can be driven together with the wheel by means of a drive motor. The trolley provides a reliable transmission of drive forces between the wheels and the rail with the drivable first wheel connected to at least one of the other wheels in a driving manner via a flexible drive such that the axle is arranged between the drive motor and the flexible drive and thus the flexible drive is connected downstream of the axle in a driving manner so that the flexible drive can be driven by the axle.

  • Patent number: 9248844
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a travelling mechanism girder and a running wheel block fastened detachably thereto, wherein the running wheel block is comprised of a housing with at least one connection surface and a running wheel which is mounted in the housing and protrudes out of the housing. To facilitate the exchange of running wheel blocks, alignment of the running wheel block with respect to the travelling mechanism girder is secured through the use of a machined groove, in which a machined plate is held in a form-fitting manner, arranged on the connection surface of the running wheel block. After the running wheel block has been properly aligned, the plate is fixedly connected to the travelling mechanism girder, maintaining the alignment. The invention also relates to a method for the installation of an arrangement consisting of a travelling mechanism girder and a running wheel block.

  • Patent number: 8029710
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed that are useful for robotic gantry systems that are lightweight while at the same time offering rigidity or stiffness for implementation in Contour Crafting construction and material delivery techniques. The present disclosure is directed to robotic gantry system and material transport apparatus that use of very light structural members that have sufficient compressive strength, but which may otherwise be weak in the presence of bending forces, in conjunction with cables that provide stiffness against bending. Use of such cables provides needed tension while at the same time allowing the robotic gantry system to be very light compared to solid structures, e.g., those with I-beams, etc. Material delivery systems including passive articulated arms are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7597050
Abstract: A crane return system is used for returning a crane component to a home position when there is a loss of power. A crane includes a bridge with a plurality of main wheels adapted to travel along at least one rail. The crane return system includes a plurality of auxiliary drive wheels supported by the bridge, the auxiliary drive wheels movable between a first position, in which the auxiliary drive wheels are recessed from the rail, and a second position, in which the auxiliary drive wheels are in contact with the rail. When power is supplied to the crane return system the auxiliary drive wheels are in the first position. A hydraulic fluid pressure vessel stores hydraulic fluid, wherein a substantially fixed mass of hydraulic fluid is contained within the crane return system, and a hydraulic cylinder is interconnected with the auxiliary drive wheels and selectively fluidly communicates with the hydraulic fluid pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 6733635
Abstract: A coke oven buckstay moving device and method which can be used to quickly, reliably, and smoothly repair buckstays compared to conventional methods and devices. The coke oven buckstay moving means includes a main car, a subcar, a frame, and securing means. The main car is used when repairing pillered buckstays that support oven walls of the coke oven, and moves on a coke side platform or a machine side platform. The subcar is placed on the main car, and can freely move forward and backward in a direction of a lengthwise direction of the coke oven. The frame is provided in a standing manner on the subcar. The securing members are mounted to the frame and are used to grasp and secure the buckstays. According to the method, a damaged portion of the buckstay is secured to the subcar, cut, and then removed. Reversing the steps, a replacement buckstay is secured to the subcar, moved into position, and welded into place. The subcar is detached, and the oven repaired.

  • Patent number: 6622877
Abstract: An overhead crane having an adjustable bearing assembly to adjust a wheel and axle of the crane in a horizontal direction in order to minimize skewing of the crane on a pair of parallel rails. A bearing retainer includes an outer surface sized to fit into an associated bore in an end truck of the crane, and an eccentric inner surface which engages the outer surface of a bearing. When the bearing retainer is rotated, the wheel and axle extending therethrough are moved in a horizontal direction. The bearing retainer includes a closed end having a surface which is engageable by a tool to allow for the rotation of the bearing retainer. A locking ring releasably fixes the bearing retainer and therefore the bearing to the frame of the crane as desired.
