Track Pushers Patents (Class 105/31)
  • Publication number: 20130206923
Abstract: A transporting system for transporting metal coils, for example hot coils, may include a multi-track rail system; a number of driverless transporting carriages, which can be moved on the rail system by means of a drive device and are equipped with an on-board communication device; a locating device, with which up-to-the-moment locational information can be determined for each transporting carriage located on the rail system; and a central control device, to which the locational information of each transporting carriage can be fed, wherein a communication link, which at least in certain sections is formed without any lines, can be established between the control device and the communication device.

  • Patent number: 5560300
Abstract: To provide a railroad car design that allows the car to travel at high speeds over current roadbeds at very low fuel costs per mile a special rail is formed. This rail has the form of a wave shaped on its top with the troughs and crests of the wave repeating themselves every several feet apart continuously down both tracks for the whole distance of the railroad. When a wheel of this multi-wheeled car comes over the crest of a wave it has encountered as it moves down this wave formed track, the wheel immediately begins supporting its computer calculated portion of the weight of the car on a cushion of air pressure forced into its supporting air cylinder at that moment and rolls down the face of the wave in its desired direction of travel.

  • Patent number: 5365856
Abstract: A coil transportation system includes air cushion vehicles guided for traveling along a travel path comprising straight lines and curves. Each vehicle comprises mechanical side guides at its longitudinal right and left hand sides. The side guides are actuatable alternatively from the right and left hand sides. The side guides are arranged for associating with floor mounted routing guides, for guiding the air cushion vehicles along a travel path and transversely to the travel path.

  • Patent number: 5261331
Abstract: A propulsion device for a rail vehicle, such as a railway train, applies power for propulsion directly between the frame of the vehicle and the rails without intervention of wheels. The device includes articulated members for connecting the frame of the vehicle to the device, a hydraulic cylinder for displacing the device between a lifted neutralized position for normal travel and a lowered working position, and two movable cross-bars having jaws mounted at opposite ends thereof. Traction hydraulic cylinders connect each movable cross-bar and the vehicle frame. A hydraulic cylinder is used to engage and disengage the jaws to rails.

  • Patent number: 4715761
Abstract: A pipe handling machine having vertical tracks mounted on a rotatable base. A carriage is mounted on the vertical tracks for vertical movement. A multisection telescoping boom is mounted on the carriage, and a pipe-engaging head is mounted on the end of the boom. The base may be carried on a movable trolley, which engages a set of tracks. The tracks run across the rig floor, from well center to a setback area. A second set of tracks may run across the rig floor, transverse to the first set.

  • Patent number: 4014266
Abstract: A transport track and a sliding carriage for transporting heavy loads in substantially horizontal direction. The track comprising a bottom plate intended to be positioned loosely on a support capable to bear heavy loads. The upper surface of the plate and the lower surface of the sliding carriage being designed so as to provide minimum resistance to the movement of the sliding carriage over the surface. At least one rod is attached to the bottom plate which rod is adapted for cooperation with a climbing jack intended for moving the carriage and with a guide groove in the carriage for guiding the carriage during the movement. Structure is also arranged for transferring axial forces arising in the rod to the bottom plate.
