Swinging Patents (Class 116/150)
  • Publication number: 20140069315
Abstract: A rotation transfer system for change ringing bells or other swinging bells eliminates the need to elevate the bell. With the rotation transfer system, instead of placing the swinging bells several feet above the ringer, they can be placed at the same level as the ringer. If the bells (and the ringer) are at ground level, the force of the swinging bells can be transferred directly to the ground, removing the need for a strong and expensive support structure.

  • Patent number: 6814021
Abstract: A method of making an assembly for repelling birds from a selected area, including forming fins and vents on a rotor and rotatably mounting the rotor on the distal end of a support member, the proximate end of which is adjusted to be fixed within the selected area. The fins and vents on the rotor arc responsive to wind currents to rotate the rotor and generate bird repelling noises and visual effects. The fins may include light reflective and/or other design indicia to enhance the visual effects. An electrical sound producing device may be mounted on the rotor for emitting the sound of a bird predator.

  • Patent number: 6390014
Abstract: An acoustic signalling device for containers destined for culinary use, in particular for boilers, is proposed, comprising a nozzle (11) able to convey externally to a container able to be closed (2) whereto the device is associated a steam jet formed inside the same container, a sounding body (12) fastened to a portion of the container able to be closed (2) and a movable element (13) positioned in the trajectory of the steam jet and able repeatedly to strike the sounding body (12) under the thrust of the same steam jet.

  • Patent number: 4792795
Abstract: An electro-mechanically operated locomotive bell ringing apparatus designed to quickly and easily replace existing air operated bell ringing systems. The bell ringing apparatus is mounted within the bell and the existing bell striker is attached to the apparatus. Closing of a switch mounted on the engineman's console activates a timer which energizes a coil within the apparatus in a predetermined manner to cause the striker to move against the bell.

  • Patent number: 4609853
Abstract: A motor drive system and method for driving a cast bell or similar object, comprising a motor and cam switches driven by the motor which operate relays in accordance with a duration angle and a start angle respectively, the circuit of the drive system supplying power to normally provide drive energy to the bell when it is swinging through the duration angle, and to provide power to the bell following system initiation as long as the bell is within the start angle. The start angle is set to be greater than the duration angle so as to optimize steady state power delivery while ensuring power delivery at the time of initial system energization.

  • Patent number: 4034699
Abstract: A device for animals to signal aid which includes a flat base member on which is mounted a hanger arm which overlies the base. A bell mount is pivotally mounted on the outer free end of the arm with a clapper bell secured thereto and an activator pad is secured to the bell mount obliquely disposed to the vertical when the base is horizontal. The activator pad is of a color which is lighter with respect to the color of the base and hanger arm so that it makes it prominent and easy for the animal to identify. When the activator pad is pivotally depressed the bell is caused to ring.
