  • Patent number: 11808676
Abstract: A smear staining machine and a smearing control method and device thereof. The viscosity of the test sample is used for guiding the configuration of at least on smearing parameter. Since the viscosity of the test sample presents multiple influences of many effecting parameters, it is more suitable for presenting the characteristics of the test sample. Therefore, better smearing effect could be acquired by referring the viscosity of the test sample to get the smearing parameter.

  • Patent number: 11067485
Abstract: An automated smear making apparatus used to prepare and smear samples on glass slides. In one embodiment, there is provided a smearing subsystem that generally includes a smear cartridge having: an input reel; at least one roll bar; a take-up reel; and a smearing tape. The smearing tape is initially wound within the input reel and coupled to the take-up reel such that the smearing tape can be drawn from the input reel and into the take-up reel. The smearing tape may include a plurality of perforations formed therein. The smearing tape may then be wrapped around the roll bar such that each of the plurality of perforations forms a blade that extends from the smearing tape to expose a smear surface as the smearing tape is drawn into the take-up reel. Alternatively, the smearing tape may be bent such that an edge of the smearing tape forms a smear surface between two roll bars. A slide transport surface is also provided to move a slide across the smear surface.

  • Patent number: 10583455
Abstract: An apparatus for coating a donor surface that is movable relative to the apparatus with a layer of metallic particles or particles having a metal-like appearance and reflectivity, the particles adhering more strongly to the surface than to one another. The apparatus comprises an application device to apply to the donor surface a fluid stream within which the particles are suspended, a housing surrounds the application device forming an interior plenum for confining the fluid stream, the housing prevents egress of particles from a sealing gap defined between the rim of the housing and the surface to be coated, and a suction source connected to the housing to extract from the plenum excess fluid and particles. In operation, the suction source extracts substantially all particles that are not in direct contact with the donor surface, leaving substantially a single particle layer adhering to the donor surface upon exiting the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7588639
Abstract: A liquid applying apparatus can prevent an applying liquid from evaporating while an applying operation is stopped and can reliably prevent the liquid from leaking even when, for example, the posture of the apparatus is tilted. An abutting member of a holding member is abutted, under an urging force of a spring, against an applying surface of an applying roller. Thus, a liquid holding space is formed between the applying roller and a holding member to hold the applying liquid. The abutting member is annularly formed of a single member. The applying roller rotates to cause the applying liquid held in the holding space to adhere to an outer peripheral surface of the applying roller. The gas introducing portion, the substrate processing position, the gas discharge port and the substrate transfer gate are disposed in this order. A gas restraining member which restrains processing gas for processing the substrate from flowing toward the substrate transfer gate is provided between the gas discharge port and the substrate transfer gate.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for edge coating a substrate is provided. A process provides a layer of a formable coating material on a transfer belt which layer of formable material has a variable thickness over the width of the layer, applying a layer of the formable coating material on the transfer belt to the edge surface to produce a coated edge surface and smoothing the coated edge surface by contact with a smoothing belt. The coating on the edge surface is sufficiently thick to cover and smooth irregularities in the edge surface of the substrate. The coated edge surface can be further treated by the usual methods for coating edge surfaces of flat substrates. The apparatus comprises the roller or nozzle to provide the layer of formable material of variable thickness on the transfer belt, the transfer belt carries the coating material to the edge surface and the transfer belt can act as a smoothing belt to provide an edge surface with the coating material with all of the irregularities obscured.

The disk is rotated in relation to the absorbent medium, and the absorbent medium removes mobile lubricant from the selected portion of the disk, leaving bonded lubricant in addition to a selected amount of mobile lubricant. In an specific embodiment, an absorbent tape is supplied to a roller that holds the tape against a surface of the disk, and solvent is applied to the tape and/or disk to facilitate the removal of mobile lubricant. Differential lubricant thicknesses are thus obtained.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for depositing solder on the terminal pads (10) of printed circuit boards (12) in which a solder resist layer (16) or layers (16, 17) having a thickness corresponding to the desired solder height border the pads. Molten solder from a reservoir (58) is directed by nozzles (72) against the sides of the board (12) to fill the cavities extending above the terminal pads while the board (12) is moving via a conveyor mechanism relative to the reservoir (58). The cavities when filled with molten solder are covered by a suitable element such as a flexible belt (52) or roller.
