The throttle body is thereby elastically supported relative to the engine and a vehicle body frame via the insulator and the connecting tube. A capacitor is disposed at a position downward of the throttle body. The capacitor is supported integrally with the throttle body using a lower portion of a throttle body cover that covers both left and right sides of the throttle body. A vibration isolating support structure is thus achieved for the capacitor by using the throttle body that is elastically supported.

  • Patent number: 7207314
Abstract: An engine electronic control unit is inserted through a through hole provided in an intake pipe and mounted in an intake air passage in a direction substantially perpendicularly with respect to a plane of the intake pipe forming the intake air passage. This unit is then secured to the intake pipe using a fixing flange provided at a connector portion. A fixing rail is protruded inside the intake pipe and leading edges of a metal base and a metal cover of the unit are inserted into this rail, thereby securing in position an end opposite to a side of the connector portion of the unit. This realizes an engine electronic control unit offering an outstanding heat radiation performance and vibration resistance, without having to provide special heat radiating parts or without involving an increase in an intake air resistance within the intake air passage. By using such an engine electronic control unit, it is possible to provide a low-cost, compact engine air intake system.

  • Patent number: 6883509
Abstract: Internal combustion engine (ICE) on-plug ignition coils with transistor drivers located in powertrain control modules (PCM) or other remote locations are prone to high electrical and magnetic interference (EMI) emissions and are subject to interference from other components due to long connecting wires. Ionization detection circuits have even greater sensitivity to EMI because of their very low signal current levels (mioroampere). The present feature of the invention integrates both the coil driver transistor and ionization detection circuits into the on-plug ignition coil. By placing the circuit on top or on the side of the coil, the connection distance from the circuit to the secondary winding is minimized. Thus, the circuit is less susceptible to electrical and electromagnetic noise.

Abstract: Plural ignition coils are inserted into corresponding plug holes. Each coil-head of the ignition coil is received by a holder. The coil-head is pressed by a base plate toward the engine. The holder has hooking claws. The base plate has hooking slots to movably engage with the hooking claws, so that relative position between the ignition coils and the plug holes can be adjusted. In case one ignition coil fails, the disabled ignition coil can be replaced individually. A first connector is formed on the coil-head, and a second connector is formed on the holder.
