Abstract: A cap for an applicator includes an inlet, a base having a connection portion embodied for connecting the cap to the applicator or a container formed therein, a head that receives an application part of the applicator within the head, and a projection formed at a top part of the cap. The top part formed at an opposite end to the inlet, and the projection cooperating with an outlet of the applicator. The head includes a cylindrical or conical inner or outer shape and the connection portion has a round inner or outer shape, that is an oval, round or square shape.

Abstract: The invention relates to an applicator device comprising a carrier having an application element covering, which includes a plurality of application elements. At least one application element has, along its longitudinal extent, at least one first section closer to the carrier and at least one second section more distant from the carrier, and at least one section of the application element has a curved central longitudinal axis. Central longitudinal axes or their end tangents of the first and second sections, in a transitional zone from the first to the second section, converge in at least one projection onto a sectional plane through the application element so as to form a bend.

Abstract: There is disclosed a comb. The comb has an upper or a basic part and a number of teeth attached to and pointing out from the upper or basic part, wherein the outer or free end of at least a portion of the teeth forms two curved shapes or curvatures for the touch of a scalp. The first curvature has a radius of curvature substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the teeth, and the second curvature is curved outwards in relation to the upper or basic part. The radius of curvature of the first curvature may be in the range of 3-14 cm.

Abstract: The invention relates to a hair-straightening device (10) comprising: an air inlet portion (12) for receiving an air stream having a first direction (14), a brush or comb (16) having a plurality of tines (18) and intended to be moved in a moving direction (20), and means (22, 24) for redirecting the air stream into a second direction (26), wherein the angle (?) enclosed by the moving direction (20) and the second direction (26) is smaller than 50 degrees, preferably smaller than 30 degrees, and most preferably smaller than 20 degrees.

Abstract: An adjustable hair combing, drying, and straightening device and related method is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the device includes: a first row of comb teeth disposed upon a comb body in a fixed position relative to a comb handle; a second row of comb teeth disposed upon the comb body and configured to slide in a generally parallel manner alongside the first row of comb teeth; an adjustable tension device disposed upon the comb body and configured to provide a tension between the first row of comb teeth and the second row of comb teeth, thereby configured to compress hair at a variable level of tension and provide a wring effect; and a tab, operable by a single digit of a user, disposed upon the comb handle, operable to regulate a position of the second row of comb teeth in relation to the first row of comb teeth.

Abstract: A method for electrochemically dyeing, highlighting or tinting hair is provided which includes first applying to the hair an oxidative dye precursor mixture containing a primary intermediate having a standard Redox potential that is less than about 1V. This precursor mixture on the hair in then contacted with an electrode system that has sufficient voltage to electrochemically oxidize the primary intermediate to produce a colored dye through a coupling reaction. A system or kit for carrying out the method is also provided.

Abstract: A hairdressing comb for use in tipping treatments. Each tooth comprises a root portion extending away from the comb's main body and a further tooth portion extending away from the root portion, the further portion being spaced from and generally parallel to the comb's main body. The array of teeth may extend from substantially the whole length of the comb's main body, with the body having a channel shape with side flanges so it may be attached to the back of a hairdresser's traditional tail comb.

Abstract: An applicator assembly for applying liquid product to the hair. The applicator assembly has an applicator that further base and multiple tines extending from the base. Opposite the tines, the base has a liquid distribution cavity. At least some of the tines have a tip at the end opposite the base, and may also have an enlarged fin section adjacent to the base. The enlarged fin sections extends to a shoulder portion located less than half way upward between the base and the tip of the tine. The tines may also have an aperature that allows fluid to be distributed from the cavity directly to the hair. The tip of the tine may be relatively flexible, while its enlarged fin section provides a more rigid lower portion.

Abstract: An applicator includes an application element configured to apply a product to eyelashes and/or eyebrows. The application element includes a support, and at least one row of teeth extending from the support. At least one of the teeth includes a base having an oblong cross-section. The oblong cross-section may be angularly positioned in a direction forming a non-zero acute angle with the axis of the row and/or a non-zero acute angle with the longitudinal axis of the support. An applicator system includes the applicator in combination with a receptacle for containing the product. Also provided is a cosmetic application method using the applicator.

Abstract: An applicator, applicator system and method of using an applicator for applying a product to the eyelashes include an application element disposed on the end of a stem. The application element includes a core and a plurality of consecutive teeth alternately disposed on opposite sides of the core at different positions along the length of the core. Three consecutive teeth define a volume configured to contain the product to be applied.

Abstract: A hair grooming brush with a plurality or rows of curved wavy bristles, rather than traditional straight bristles found on brushes and combs. The curvature of the bristles produces a springiness to the bristles when pressure is applied during the combing action. The springiness of the numerous rows of bristles, translates into a massaging effect upon the hair and scalp. Rows of curved bristles are more effective at untangling the hair. The three different sections of the bristle, the lower, middle and tip sections, can be either straight or curved. Additionally the rows can alternate between various formations of bristles.

Abstract: A hairbrush includes a handle body formed with a hollow brush seat on one end. The brush seat has a bottom wall, and defines a bristle accommodating space above the bottom wall. The bottom wall is formed with a row of bristle holes therethrough. A flexible bristle retention member is disposed on the bottom wall inside the bristle accommodating space. Each of a plurality of bristles has a head portion connected to the bristle retention member, a middle portion that passes slidably through a respective one of the bristle holes, and a tip portion disposed outwardly of the bristle accommodating space.

The comb includes tines, the free ends extending to form an arcuate plane, and forwardly deepening retaining areas between adjacent tines for retaining treatment material, such as highlighting gel. The comb also includes pairs of forked teeth at the free ends of the tines. Each pair of teeth define a recessed groove therebetween which tapers back from the top surface to the bottom surface of the tines. Connected to these grooves are channels which extends along the bottom surface substantially toward the spine of the comb to guide the hair not being treated away from the retaining area. In use, the comb is swiped through the hair, the hair is channeled between the tines so that the hair receives treatment material which has been previously charged in the retaining areas.

Abstract: A multi-comb hair-curler which has a body which includes a plurality of combs. One of the combs has pyramidal or conical teeth whose tips are distant from the body, with the teeth including at least once along their length, and on their opposite face, a narrowing which forms an open channel arranged between two adjacent teeth. The cross section of the channel is a circle or a polygon, the axis of which is perpendicular to that of the tooth and to that of the body which creates channels for retention of the ends of tie hair. The hair-curler further includes at least one comb with polygonal teeth of constant thickness without narrowing, with the combs being spaced alternatively in an equiangular manner to provide respectively, a comb with retention channels, and then a comb without retention channels.

Abstract: A combination brush and cleaning comb to remove hair and other debris from the bristles. The cleaning comb is specially sized to have teeth that are complementary or slightly larger than the space between the bristles, allowing for minimal effort when cleaning. The matched sizing also reduces the possibility of damage to the bristles. The handle of the brush contains an ergonomically designed enclosure to store the cleaning comb without affecting the feel of the handle.

Abstract: The invention is directed to bristles for a hairbrush, in particular for employment in an appliance for personal use as, for example, a curling iron, a curling brush, a hair dryer or the like, including a bristle base (3) and a bristle head (5). In this arrangement, the bristle base (3) is adapted to be fastened to a bristle supporting structure (7). The bristles (1) include at least two sections (9, 11) with cross-sectional areas of different sizes. A section with an increased cross-sectional area (11) adjoins the bristle base (3) having a reduced cross-sectional area, so that the bristle (1) is provided with a neck portion (17) between the bristle supporting structure (7) and the section with the increased cross-sectional area (11).

Abstract: A method of use of an applicator for hair lotions. The applicator has a flat, solid blade that is shaped like a comb. This blade does not have teeth like a comb normally has. One embodiment of the applicator does have a series of small curved teeth, similar in appearance to saw teeth, formed on the front edge of the blade. These teeth enable the applicator to lie flat on coarse hair without difficulty compared to an applicator having a smooth leading edge. The method calls for aligning the front edge of the blade against the hair such that the flat blade is perpendicular to the hair; applying lotion to the hair; catching any spilled lotion on the flat blade of the applicator; rotating the flat blade 90 degrees such that the blade is parallel to the hair; and wiping the lotion accumulated on the flat blade on the hair.

Abstract: A method of introducing therapeutic, cosmetic, and dyeing agents in buffer medium created by the electrophoretic flow of these solutions into the hair. The result is to increase the therapeutic effect of treatments for the hair including hair growth and regeneration. Other results include the even and stable dyeing of hair due to the increased adhering properties created through the electrophoretic device and the solutions used with it. These solutions include, but are not limited to, those dyeing and therapeutic agents which do not readily stick to the hair or those which may form unstable compounds.

Abstract: A comb for selectively separating strands of hair for individual treatment includes an elongated base and a plurality of teeth positioned at spaced-apart locations along the length of the base. Each tooth includes a shaft which extends outwardly from the base to a free end. The teeth include a hair-engaging portion at the free end of a shaft which is substantially linearly straight and smooth from the base to the hair-engaging portion. The hair-engaging portion is positioned to engage only selected strands of hair while allowing non-selected strands to fall freely from between the teeth as the comb is lifted, moving the teeth in a direction toward the base through the lock of hair. Each hair-engaging portion includes a tine member which extends outwardly from the shaft to define a substantially open hook throat. Each tine member is on a common side of each tooth so that the selected strands may be released from each hook throat by a single longitudinal movement of the base.
