  • Patent number: 11859751
Abstract: A closure is provided for a pressure vessel or pipelines that can provide quick and easy access to the interior of a pressure vessel or pipeline and means for a pressure tight seal between the hub and door. The closure can incorporate means for mechanically fastening the door to the hub using an external split clamp ring actuated by a toggle mechanism. A locking mechanism can be provided to safeguard against unintended closure actuation and provides a layer of redundancy to the holding characteristics of the toggle mechanism. The locking mechanism can be interlocked to a pressure alert system to ensure any differential pressure condition contained within the closure is detected prior to disengaging the locking mechanism and actuating the toggle mechanism.

Abstract: A hanger seal system includes a first seal and a second seal disposed between a hanger and a hanger housing, creating a fixed-volume annular region filled with a first fluid; and a trapped pressure compensator (TPC) disposed in the annular region and filled with a second fluid. The TPC is collapsible from an initial position to a collapsed position in response to a pressure being applied to the outside of the TPC exceeding a predetermined amount. Additionally, the TPC occupies an initial volume in the initial position and a reduced volume in the collapsed position and a fluid pressure in the annular region exceeding the predetermined amount causes the TPC to move from the initial position to the collapsed position. This causes an increase in volume of the annular region such that the fluid pressure in the annular region is below the predetermined amount when the TPC is in the collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 8337777
Abstract: A device and methods for sample distribution through a channel in which an expandable valve provides a mechanism to regulate flow through the channel. The valve may be configured to exert a force on a membrane layer so as to substantially block a portion of the channel to retain the sample in a desired location and prevent flow past the valve mechanism between the channel and a chamber.

Abstract: A valve device includes a wire channel through which wires are routed from the inside of a gas tank to the outside of the gas tank, and a hermetic connector in which a sealing member is provided around wire pins that constitute part of the wires is provided in the wire channel. In addition, the wire channel has multiple (two) bent portions formed on the outer side of the hermetic connector. When pulling force acts on the wires from the outside, stress concentration portions are formed in the wires at these bent portions.

Abstract: An automatic shutoff drain remains open to allow the flow of aqueous liquids, but automatically closes if a non-aqueous liquid enters. The drain has four primary components: (1) a conduit having an inlet and an inner orifice; (2) a closing member having an open position that is spaced apart from the orifice to allow the flow of liquid through the conduit and having a closed position that seals the orifice to prevent the flow of liquid through the conduit; (3) a fusible link made from a material that remains intact when immersed in water and that degrades when immersed in a non-aqueous liquid; and (4) a mechanism that restrains the closing member in the open position when the fusible link is intact and allows the closing member to move to the closed position when the fusible link degrades.

Abstract: A disposable urine bag is provided. The bag includes an upper delimiting edge, a lower delimiting edge and lateral delimiting edges defining a space in the bag. The lower delimiting edge includes a drain valve, whose first drain mouthing in a first hollow element communicates with the space in the bag, and whose second mouthing in a second element is situated outside the delimiting edges of the bag. The drain valve is a disposable valve including a seal between the first and the second element and at least one indicator situated in the area of the seal. A disposable urine bag is provided whereby the drain valve seal may be broken without using significant finger strength and without a risk of the user being soiled with urine.

  • Publication number: 20120237845
Abstract: A pressure regulating valve has a first pressure deformation portion which receives a pressure on a fuel demand side, a second pressure deformation portion opposed to the first pressure deformation portion and which receives a predetermined pressure, first and second flow passages, and a communication passage communicating the first and second flow passages with each other. A valve member connects the first and second pressure deformation portions together and has a valve element that closes the communication passage when moved toward the second pressure deformation portion. When the pressure on the fuel demand side is lower than a predetermined value, the valve element does not close the communication passage, but when the pressure on the fuel demand side is equal to or higher than the predetermined value, the valve element closes the communication passage.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, there is provided pressure controlling apparatus including a detecting unit, an exhaust pipe, a regulating valve, and a pressure controlling unit. The regulating valve includes a valve port, a changing unit, and a slide valve. The valve port is communicated with the exhaust pipe. The changing unit changes a shape of the valve port to a different shape whose center is located near the central axis of the exhaust pipe. The slide valve regulates an opening degree of the valve port changed by the changing unit. The pressure controlling unit controls changing of a shape of the valve port by the changing unit and regulation of an opening degree of the valve port by the slide valve.

  • Publication number: 20120222754
Abstract: A structure of water-saving device includes a base, an adjusting ring and a gland. The adjusting ring is mounted in a water-inlet channel. The gland is movably positioned in the base to limit the adjusting ring. A central part of a top surface of the gland sinks downward to form a recess. When water flow impacts the gland, the gland pushes the adjusting ring, such that the adjusting ring is deformed. Since a difference of pressure occurs between a top and bottom surfaces of the gland, the larger the water pressure is, the larger the force from the gland toward the adjusting ring becomes; thus the degree of deformation of the adjusting ring also becomes large, such that the area between the adjusting ring and the bottom surface of the base for water flowing through decreases and the flow of water gradually achieves a stable value.
