  • Patent number: 11148524
Abstract: A cap includes a bottomed first cover portion, and a second cover portion provided on a receiving opening side of the first cover portion. The second cover portion includes an outside cover that covers a contact portion of a receptacle. The contact portion comes into contact with a distal end of a supply nozzle when the supply nozzle is connected with the receptacle. The outside cover has a tapered shape such that an outer diameter of the outside cover is decreased towards the first cover portion from one end of the cap where the receiving opening is provided. The outside cover has an internal dimension that allows the outside cover to be separated from an outer peripheral portion of the receptacle when the cap is attached to the receptacle.

Abstract: A nozzle inhibitor is adapted to be arranged in a filler neck included in a fuel tank fill tube and is configured to allow only a diesel fuel nozzle having an outer diameter that is greater than a specified minimum diameter to be inserted into the fill tube to a depth sufficient so that a user may dispense diesel fuel from that nozzle into the fill tube. The nozzle inhibitor inhibits insertion of a small-diameter unleaded fuel nozzle into the fill tube, yet allows insertion of a large-diameter diesel fuel nozzle into the fill tube so that only diesel fuel is dispensed into a diesel fuel tank coupled to the fill tube.

Abstract: A device is described that overlays a first fluid, such as blood or a cellular suspension onto a base material, such as a Ficoll liquid density gradient. In some embodiments, the fluid layering device includes a cylindrical reservoir, a fluid barrier, a coupling extension, one or more helical channels in fluid communication with the reservoir, and an exhaust vent. The fluid layering device can be coupled through its coupling extension to an open end of a container, such as a conical centrifuge tube, including the base material. Once attached, the device regulates flow of the first fluid from the reservoir into the conical tube so that a suitable overlay is formed without substantially disturbing a surface of the base material, regardless of the care and skill of the user.

Abstract: A ventilation device for fluid-storing reservoirs includes a connecting part (1) attachable to the opening of the reservoir to form an air- and/or fluid-conducting connection between the inside of the reservoir and the surroundings. This connection is effectively sealed by a labyrinth-like seal of a system of seal passages (53, 59, 69, 73) from the penetration of media such as water and/or cleaning chemicals but is not sealed off from an exchange of air for ventilation. A filter element (61) is placed inside the connection. A portion of the seal passages (59, 69, 73) is formed on a ventilation chamber (41) releasably attachable to the connecting part (1) and having a seat (79) for the filter element provided as a filter leaf (61). Abstract: A ullage system for a marine fuel tank that maintains an exact ullage space in all marine refueling situations including refueling in moving or pitching and rolling situations. The invention includes two ball valve assemblies that are inserted into a fuel tank at approximately the same level. The two assemblies typically are at opposite ends of the tank. One of the ball valves is smaller than the other in diameter. The smaller valve is coupled to an air vent; the larger valve is coupled to the filler tube. An important feature of the present invention is that it can typically be made to fit any marine fuel tank simply by changing the length of a vent tube to reach the correct ullage level for the tank at hand. The components of the present invention can be made from standard fuel valve materials.

An opening (82) is provided in the fill vessel (72) so that the fill gas (20) forces the contained gas (26) within the container (70) into the fill vessel (72) through the opening (82).

Abstract: A vent and fluid transfer fitment for sealing and transferring a fluid from an inverted fluid-filled container without premature leakage to a receiver attachment, has a transfer check valve and a venting check valve which are preferably duckbill valves. The transfer check valve is attached to the fitment for allowing fluid to be transferred from the container when the receiver attachment engages the transfer check valve. The venting check valve is also attached to the fitment for allowing air to displace the fluid as the fluid exits the container, wherein both the transfer check valve and the venting check valve have an inherent sealing pressure created by the static pressure of the fluid within the container. In addition, the inherent sealing pressure of the venting check valve is less than the inherent sealing pressure of the transfer check valve which allows air to enter the container due to the pressure differential created as the fluid is displaced.

  • Patent number: 6648030
Abstract: A ventilating/sterilizing system for food-quality liquid storage tanks has a weatherproof overhead hood. Incoming air, drawn up into the hood is first filtered at the intake of an electric blower forcing the airflow through a main filter to be sterilized by ultraviolet radiation then heated for tank entry, where airflow drives out moisture and displaces air in the head region through a specially designed weather protective tank outlet vent with a removable cone-shaped dual-screen filter unit. A remote indicator light panel indicates normal operation and malfunctions. Stainless steel construction throughout minimizes deterioration and contamination. The main filter is enclosed in a housing mounted on a base unit containing the ultra-violet chamber, the heating chamber, and electrical components. The hood is hinged for intake filter access; similarly the blower assembly is hinged for main filter access for replacement or cleaning.

Abstract: The object of this invention is to improve safety by preventing the leakage of liquid caused by the internal pressure of a container. A liquid path plug in which a pipe is provided in the lid section of the plug, and a gas path plug which does not have a pipe are attached to openings of the container. The engaging groove section is formed on the end surface of the liquid path cap which closes the through hole provided in the liquid path plug section of the liquid path plug. The engaging protrusion section and the engaging hole section are formed on the end surface of the gas path cap which is provided in the gas path plug section of the gas path plug and closes the through hole. The gas path cap is detached by engaging the engaging pin of the detaching fixture on the engaging hole section of the gas path cap and by turning the gas path cap.
