  • Patent number: 8091178
Abstract: A hinge has a pintle, a moving leaf, a resilient device and a stationary leaf. The pintle has a resilient device mount formed on a distal end and is mounted securely in the stationary leaf. The moving leaf is mounted rotatably around the pintle and has a barrel having a protruding limit formed on an outer end. Because the resilient device mount is formed on the pintle, it does not break easily and may slip to prevent terminal failure and be reset when closed. The protruding limit abuts the stationary leaf and ensures a gap is formed between the leaves for wires cabling or the like. Therefore the hinge has improved wear and longer lifespan.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improvement in a clipper seam used to join the ends of a fabric belt to form a continuous conveying member. The seam is formed using an array of P-shaped loop members having a barb on the shank ends thereof. The loop members have two different lengths and are placed along the terminal end of the fabric in an alternating array to distribute the transferred load over a greater surface of the fabric. The barbs engage the fabric and an adhesive is applied to the fabric over the shanks of the installed loop members. The ends of the fabric are brought together to form a continuous belt and a pintel is installed into the P-shaped members to join the two ends.

  • Patent number: 5086541
Abstract: In order to connect two adjacent elements (E1,E2) joined, for example, onto a satellite solar panel, an antifriction joint (10) is used. The deployment kinematics of the joint enable deployment to be done extremely accurately. The joint comprises two braces (12,14) suitable for rolling one onto the other by two cylindrical surfaces (12a,14a). Guiding of rolling is ensured by two flexible members, such as rolling plates (16,28) extremities are secured to the braces and which pass by crossing between the cylindrical surfaces (12a,14a). A traction prestressing stored in the plates avoids any stray movement between the braces, especially at the time of deployment. The drive torque ensuring the automatic deployment of the joint and its end-of-travel locking are ensured by elastic bands (36) connecting the two braces and each formed of two superimposed plates. Successive joints may be joined using a synchronization deployment mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4650358
Abstract: A feeder for a printer serves for guiding and/or advancing the record carrier. Tractors (1a and 1b) placed in a pair are provided. The tractors (1a and 1b) have hinged parts which can be adjusted in different hinged positions by pivoting bearings (11). To provide hinged part on printers, particularly dot matrix printers, with simple pivoting bearings that can be produced economically and to eliminate a special fastener for the pivoted positions, a spring steel wire piece (18) cut to length serves as a pivot pin (17) and for fixing of the closed and open end positions of the hinged part (10). The spring steel wire piece (18) is put under tension by bending.

Abstract: A kettle cooker hinge which comprises two spaced legs joined by a bight section to form an inverted U-shaped member which has fully closed, partially opened and fully opened positions. A first mechanism is provided for pivotally securing the lower end of each of the legs to the inner wall of the kettle at opposite sides thereof. The locations of these first pivot mechanisms lie in a first pair of adjacent quadrants of the kettle. A second mechanism for pivotally securing the bight at the upper end of the inverted U-shaped member to the inner wall of the cover is provided at a location directly above the other two quadrants of the kettle when the cover and the inverted U-shaped member are in their closed positions. This second mechanism extends, for stability, on opposite sides of the vertical plane that divides the other two quadrants of the kettle.
