The tiller is supported by an arm having a single ground engaging wheel, pivoting the arm and locking in position to adjust the height of the tiller. The tiller includes a third handle located along its chassis. The chassis is formed from two longitudinally split components. A blade cover for the tiller is thin and curved to lie in an arc spaced from the rotating tips of the tines. An attachment for the tiller has a V-shaped tip and shaped to form a furrow.

    Abstract: A self-propelled tiller-planter including a motor providing hydraulic motive power for various operating mechanisms. A tiller pushed by said planter and hydraulic means is provided for lifting and lowering the tiller assembly into inoperative position above the ground and into operative tilling position in contact with the ground. A pivoting cradle is provided to which the motor is fixed, the cradle rocking simultaneously with the up and down movements of the tiller insuring that the shaft to the tiller assembly is in alignment with the motor. Since the tiller is pushed at the front of the planter the soil being worked thereby may be packed down by the wheels which follow the tiller and means are provided at the rear of the rear wheels of the planter to rework the soil for the planting operation.

    Abstract: The ditcher is provided with two engines. The first engine powers the hydraulic system which rotates the digging wheel. The second engine powers the hydraulic system which actuates the wheel lifting cylinders, the conveyor system and the track driving means. The two hydraulic systems are selectively interconnected so that, in the event that the second engine fails, the first engine can be used to actuate the wheel lifting cylinders and track driving means. As a result, the ditcher's wheel can be lifted to the travelling position and the tracks driven to move the ditcher off the pipe line right-of-way and enable it to return to a base camp for repairs.
