  • Patent number: 10149467
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention is a fishhook remover aid 100 that has a base 102 and a cover 170. The base 102 is longer than the cover 170. When reeling in a fish, an angler may first insert a fishing line 138 through a space 120 located on top portions 112, 114 of the cover 170. The fish is then urged along the base 102 and into the cover 170. Opposing rounded sides 108, 110 of the cover 170 are flexible, allowing the angler to grasp the fishhook remover aid with sufficient pressure on the fish to remove the fishhook 138 without damaging the fish in the process. The safe swift removal of the fishhook without the need for an angler's hand to come into direct contact with the fish thus occurs. The fishhook remover aid 100 has a built in ruler 134 located on the base 102 for measuring a length of the fish while the angler removes the fishhook.

  • Patent number: 9689126
Abstract: An assembly includes a handheld work apparatus and a support. The support has a holder worn by an operator and a connector arrangement which is held at a first attachment on the holder and on a second attachment on the work apparatus. The connector arrangement is mounted on the second attachment so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis and supports the work apparatus in a rearward direction in relation to the operator and prevents a rearward movement of the work apparatus. The center of gravity of the work apparatus and the first attachment have a spacing (a) to one another measured in a horizontal and lateral direction in relation to the operator. The holder has, at the first attachment, a bracing device for supporting the tilting moment acting on the first attachment by the weight force (F) of the work apparatus because of the lateral spacing (a).

  • Patent number: 6012165
Abstract: A thumb protector for use in carpentry, made of metal or a durable composite material of sufficient strength to protect a human thumb from a hammer blow. A cloth fastening jacket and associated fastening band encircling the second phalanx of the thumb firmly secure the protector to the first phalanx. The portion of the sheath covering the thumbpad has an arcuate groove disposed transversely relative to the thumb enabling the wearer to roll a nail into position between thumb and forefinger from a reservoir located in the palm of the same hand. The grooves pass completely through the material of the protector and so also allow the thumb to breathe. Integrally attached to the sheath is an extrusion which functionally and structurally mimics a human thumbnail.

  • Patent number: 5555943
Abstract: The present invention is a lawn-aerating and weed-pulling apparatus for use in aerating the ground and removing weeds. The apparatus comprises a substantially horizontal foot plate having a first side and a second side. A coring mechanism and a resilient biasing mechanism is secured to the second side of the foot plate. When the resilient biasing mechanism is compressed and then released it urges the foot plate and the coring mechanism which is secured to it in a generally upward direction. Upon exertion of a generally downward force on the foot plate, the resilient biasing mechanism is compressed, allowing the coring mechanism to penetrate the ground. Upon release of the generally downward force on the foot plate, the resilient biasing mechanism urges the foot plate and the coring mechanism which is secured to it upward, away from the ground, thereby removing a core of ground with substantially reduced or diminished effort on the part of the user.
