  • Patent number: 9991437
Abstract: A method for forming superconducting connection structure between at least two superconducting wires is disclosed, where each wire includes at least one superconducting filament. An end piece of each superconducting wire may be positioned inside a cavity of a pressing tool. A contacting material including MgB2 and/or a precursor material for MgB2 may also be positioned inside the cavity. Pressure may be applied to the contacting material through the pressing tool, and the contacting material may be heated inside the cavity. Pressure and heat may be applied simultaneously, at least during part of the process. A superconducting connection structure including at least two superconducting wires, each wire including at least one superconducting filament, and a superconducting connection between the end pieces of the two wires is also disclosed. The connection may be formed of heated and compressed contacting material including MgB2.

  • Patent number: 9966167
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for producing superconducting joints between superconductive segments of a Bi-2212 high-temperature superconducting (HTS) conductor, thereby eliminating the heat generating resistive joints that are commonly known in the art for connecting two or more smaller Bi-2212 conductive segments to create an Bi-2212 conductor of adequate length.

  • Patent number: 9960577
Abstract: To provide a wiring harness and a routing structure of the wiring harness able to prevent high temperature and its influence caused by heat generation. A wiring harness includes a harness main body having a plurality of high voltage conducting lines. The high voltage conducting lines are arranged with gaps between the adjacent high voltage conducting lines. Further, the plurality of high voltage conducting lines are arranged to maintain an interval as the gap. It becomes a routing structure of the wiring harness when curved portions of such high voltage conducting lines are directly or indirectly made contact with a shield cover covering the wiring harness. Because the high voltage conducting lines of the wiring harness are arranged with gaps between the adjacent high voltage conducting lines, radiation performance of the wiring harness is better than the wiring harness of which high voltage conducting lines are bundled.

  • Patent number: 9959956
Abstract: A cable winding machine for winding transposed cable from multiple serpentine subconductors such as in particular Roebel cable from such 2G HTS tape, without damaging the tape through edge-wise bending, comprises a conductor supply stage carrying subconductor supply spools to move the supply spools about a machine axis and maintain the supply spools in a common orientation as the subconductors unwind and move through the machine in a machine direction, and a cable forming stage after the conductor supply stage in the machine direction, arranged to bring together the subconductors and at which the subconductors interleave to form the transposed cable.
