Abstract: A solar energy-storage cooler includes an insulated housing and a lid movable between a closed position, sealing the opening, and an open position for access to an interior of the housing. A solar power source generates electrical energy for an energy storage component in the housing which is part of an energy storage device. The housing can include a separate secure compartment. A compartment door can close the secure compartment door for locking by a lock mechanism to limit unauthorized access to the secure compartment. The lid and compartment door can share a common hinge. A motion sensor can characterize motion of the housing. An estimate of time can be determined as predictive of a state of charge of the energy storage device. Temperature indications are provided responsive to a temperature sensor.

Abstract: A hanger system including at least an upper assembly affixed to a vertically suspending location and which, in combination with a lower assembly, supports and tensions a garment therebetween to assist in either or both of de-wrinkling or steam assisted cleaning of the garment. The upper assembly includes vertically respositionable upper and lower support surface (e.g. door jamb) engaging portions. A stem extends downwardly from the upper assembly and is linearly repositionable in order to adjust a height of a garment. The stem can be integrated into a triangular shaped support member having clips defined upon a lower width extending member of a triangular frame supported by the stem. The lower assembly includes an inverted triangular design with additional clips for securing lower edge extending locations of the garment and which is also weighted to facilitate the steam cleaning and de-wrinkling process.

Abstract: A safe that may be secured to a fixed object while incorporated in a larger bag is provided. Also provided is a kit including a safe that can be installed in an existing bag. In use, the bag and safe are secured together and both may be simultaneously locked to a fixed object by a securing mechanism such as a loop cable with a locking mechanism. The securing mechanism enters both the bag and the safe through apertures which may be reinforced. The securing mechanism may be detached from the safe by detaching removable fasteners designed to secure the mechanism within the safe. The interior of the bag may also comprise a housing or a mounting mechanism to secure the safe within the bag.

Abstract: A combined purse and security fastener includes a purse including a storage section and a flexible shoulder strap affixed thereto, and a security fastener slidably coupled to the purse. Such a security fastener includes a flexible chain and a shoulder pad adjustably engaged with the flexible chain. Advantageously, the flexible chain is looped through the flexible shoulder strap and interlinked therewith such that the flexible chain rests along a first axis during use and the flexible shoulder strap rests along a second axis during use. Notably, the first axis intersects the second axis such that the flexible chain overlaps the flexible shoulder strap.

Abstract: A lock comprises an upper casing and a base plate connected to each other; between the upper casing and the base plate there is an accommodation space in which the locking device is. The locking device consists of a locking hook coordinated with the receiving hole at the top surface of the upper casing and a control unit to control the movement of the locking hook. The locking hook has a hook portion which can access the bottom end of the receiving hole and a connecting portion controlled by the control unit. At the left side of the receiving hole which the hook portion faces to, there is a side plate comprising an inclined upper part and a vertical part at the lower end, and the inclined part tilt outward towards the top surface of the receiving hole for locking two zipper pull tabs together conveniently.

Abstract: The present invention is a discreet luggage tracking and surveillance system having a replaceable zipper pull and interior retaining fastener capable of communicating with each other. The zipper pull and fastening member have aesthetic designs generally similar to that of existing zipper pulls and fastening members such that the replacements are indiscreet. The zipper pull has a touch sensor, power system, GPS, and system for communicating with the retaining fastener. The fastening member contains a camera, GPS, touch sensor, system for communicating with the zipper pull, and power system. The touch sensors are adapted to turn on the retaining fastener when either touch sensor is touched. Once activated, the retaining fastener records pictures, video and sound and transmits the gathered information from the camera and GPS along with date and time stamps to a database that can be accessed if the user's luggage or valuables have been stolen or lost.

Abstract: The nurse's travel bag is a travel bag or suitcase for storing a plurality of medical devices and/or supplies that a nurse may need. The nurse's travel bag includes a suitcase with a plurality of compartments integrated inside of and along the exterior of the suitcase. Each storage compartment consists of a clear plastic storage compartment, an identifying label, and a zipper for opening and closing said compartment. The suitcase may include rollers and a telescoping handle, which enable rolling of said suitcase. The suitcase includes a collapsible cooler and sharps container that extend from opposing side surfaces, and enable storage therein.

Abstract: A method of preventing wireless identity theft including the step of: inserting a metallic lining into a storage bag, where the lining covers the entire interior of the storage bag. The storage bag may include at least one of a purse, handbag, backpack or briefcase. In another embodiment of the present invention, the method of preventing wireless identity theft may include inserting a metallic lining into a wallet. The present invention further includes a system for wireless identity theft prevention comprising: a mechanism to store RF enabled cards; and a metallic lining within an interior of the mechanism to store RF enable cards. The mechanism to store RF enabled cards may include at least one of a purse, backpack, briefcase or wallet.

Abstract: In one form, a security handbag is provided that includes an interior security panel assembly with a matrix of wires secured between a pair of material layers. The interior security panel assembly can be positioned intermediate the bag outside wall and a lining of the bag. A strap with security cable and a carbineer attachment device can be attached to the handbag. Methods for forming such security panel assemblies are also provided.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to embodiments of an anti-zipper sliding device that may include at least one body, a gripping surface affixed onto the body, a fastener to removably attach the body and the gripping surface onto a piece of luggage having a zipper with a zipper track and a zipper puller so as to prevent the anti-zipper sliding device from moving along the zipper track of the luggage. The anti-zipper sliding device may also include at least one locking mechanism or be configured for engagement with at least one locking mechanism in order to lock at least one zipper puller to the anti-zipper sliding device in order to prevent the zipper from being re-zipped after a zipper breach.

Abstract: A tamper evidencing band for encircling an article includes an elongate strip. The band is provided with a loop. The loop is such that attempted opening or removal of the loop will be evidenced by the band. The strip has a portion distal from the loop, which is insertable through the loop. Attachment means is provided to selectively attach the distal portion onto another portion of the strip to encircle the article whereby attempted removal of the attachment will be evidenced by the band. The tamper evidencing band may be provided as a flat strip with the loop unformed. Alternatively, the tamper evidencing band may be provided in kit form with a separate buckle to define the loop.

Abstract: A luggage piece which has an internal compartment with a zipper closure, a pulling tab and a pair of carrying straps. One of the straps is secured at one end to the luggage and at the other end has a shackle device attached thereto. A lock is fixedly secured to a second location on the luggage. The strap is configured to allow passing of the disconnected strap through an immovable object. The shackle is sized, shaped and configured to pass through an opening in the zipper tab. Thereby, the luggage is capable being tethered to the immovable object and thus becoming itself immovable and the contents in the internal compartments of the luggage are secured against theft simultaneously.

Abstract: An enhanced structure for the base with roller and belt of hardshell zipper case is provided, including a hardshell zipper case main body, a plurality of hidden roller units, a retractable belt unit, and an auxiliary wheel set. The hidden roller units and the retractable belt unit are placed inside the roller housing trench and the belt housing trench located at the bottom of the hardshell zipper case main body. When the hidden roller units are not in use, the roller units are entirely hidden inside the roller housing trench so that the roller unit will not be damaged due to careless handling. To move the hardshell zipper case, the outer rim of the roller units are exposed outside of the surface of the roller housing trench so that the roller units can roll along when moved. The belt of retractable belt unit can be easily pulled out from one end of the bottom of the hardshell zipper case.

Abstract: This invention relates to a carrying case used to transport objects or documents, such as posters, drawings, or blueprints for presentation at conventions, exhibitions, meetings or similar functions. The expandable carrying case is made of leather or similarly sturdy, durable synthetic material such as nylon. It has flexible tubes that constitute a protective container for objects or rolled-up documents when deployed, and can be coiled up and stored in the said cylindrical case when not in use. The benefits of the present invention include its versatility in transporting objects or documents of different sizes or lengths. The flexible extensions are interconnected to each other, and to the cover and elongated tubular member through zippers, or similarly durable, sturdy fasteners to form one enclosed, protective carrier. This makes the current invention a uniquely versatile, flexible and reusable (hence “green”) transport/storage device.

Abstract: A disposable strip of non-elastic, tear resistant luggage wrap material is provided that extends around the outer periphery of a piece of luggage and adhesively secures to itself. A plurality of disposable strips may be coupled end-to-end to accommodate large luggage pieces. The disposable strip may be removed by tearing along a plurality of spaced, inline apertures. The disposable strip includes several features, such as indicia that identify luggage as belonging to a group, organization or commercial carrier. The disposable strip also may include a security portion having an area for receiving the user's signature or initials to inhibit unauthorized tampering. A pocket may be provided on the disposable strip to receive user identification, a travel itinerary or other document. Furthermore, the disposable strip may be configured to receive an R.F.I.D. tag for electronic tracking.

The bag includes a handle and a lockable member connected to the body. The handle includes at least one removable end. The lockable member is adapted to secure and lock the closing member and the removable end of the handle to the body when the closing member is moved to the second position to protect the bag and the items contained in the bag from being taken.

Abstract: Soft-sided luggage having means for preventing unauthorized access through the zipper is disclosed herein. Preferred means for preventing unauthorized access through the zipper include a rigid barrier attached internally to a first side of the luggage, positioned alongside and extending to the length of the zipper track, and extending past the plane of the zipper towards the second side of the luggage. Further security features can also be used with soft luggage provided herein, including padlocks, and flaps crossing the zipper plane, for example.

The device includes a housing with a connector attached to the housing, and a locking member with a retractable cord attached to an opposing side of the housing for use in securing the bag to a stationary object. Alternatively, the device includes a connector, attachment means and at least one locking member. The device may further include a second locking member attached to the connector through a second attachment means useful for securing a zipper on a bag to prevent easy access to the contents of the bag.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for providing several stages of closure of a luggage case (2), including an open stage, a pre-close stage in which one or more latching mechanisms are engaged, and a secure stage in which a drawing action pulls both shells of the luggage case (2) further together. Also disclosed is a method and system for automatically ensuring proper latching of the multiple latching mechanisms around the perimeter of a luggage case (2). The latching mechanisms may be aligned by use of a single operative mechanism (16). The present invention comprises a low-friction, durable system. The present invention ensures security of a user's belongings by providing the extra measurement of closure. The user enjoys a single operative mechanism (16), and needs to exert only a minimal amount of pressure to latch the case (2), thanks to a clever design of the single operative mechanism (16). The user needs not worry about their suitcase (2) popping open due to a failed latching mechanism.

An inner flap is attached to an inner surface of the peripheral wall and divides the housing into an upper portion and a lower portion. A fastener is removably extendable through the outer flaps so that the outer flaps are secured together to define a closed position of the housing. The lower portion of the housing is filled with sand and valuables are positioned in the upper portion of the housing. The outer flaps are then secured together with the fastener.

The detachable portion has pockets to hold the users valuables including cash, credit cards, defensive chemical spray and cellular phone. Upon extraordinary pulling away of the purse, the detachable portion remains attached to the user and uncouples from the purse.

The baggage has a locking device, which can constrain both end portions of a wire by locking operation to form a closed loop. The locking device is fixed to the baggage main body. The locking device can be subassembled in a grip attached to the baggage main body, and the baggage can be simply manufactured by replacing the subassembly with the grip of the existing suitcase.

Abstract: My invention, the Fast Check Anti-terrorism Luggage, consists of two major parts. The first is a cloth outer shell like the kind used on the outsides of many types of luggage bags. The outer shell can be unzipped revealing a clear plastic inner shell that contains the actual luggage. The inner shell is connected to the outer shell on the top of the bag as a lining is connected to the shell on a regular bag (duffel) and is connected to the front and back sides on the wheeled style suitcase on its spine. The inner shell functions as both a lining, and a antiterrorism device. The contents of the bag can be easily seen so that it is not always necessary to open and search all bags. Also the inner shell, since it is plastic is easily cleaned up if something is spilled. Other than these special features, my invention is a simple duffel or wheeled style piece of luggage that is common today all over the world.

Abstract: The specifically designed briefcase provides for a briefcase that appears consistent with all others made of hard shelled materials (i.e. aluminum, leather covered, plastic or composite materials) to be used as a firearm, taser, or other device(s) inter alia concealment system for self defense purposes. The case has two different methods of access to the same compartment holding the firearm, taser, or other device(s) inter alia. The first access is externally via a spring loaded side panel that is released by depressing a button release lock near the carrying handle. The second is while in an office or vehicle setting while the case rests on a desk, car seat or creden za. The briefcase functions in this environment as any other would but has a panel door, also spring loaded, that is released by depressing a button release lock on the top plane of the right work surface (panel door) of the interior. Additionally, the case offers availability for installation of a ballistic panel in the lid of the case.

Abstract: An information handling system lock and carrying strap provides a carrying mode to transport the portable computer and a security mode to secure the portable computer to a fixed object. A cable has attachment devices coupled to each end and operable to couple to a portable computer so that the cable acts as a carrying strap. The cable further secures the information handling system to a fixed device to prevent theft by attaching one cable end to the information handling system and the other end to a fixed object. In one embodiment, the attachment device include a secured unlocked position to allow convenient use as a carrying strap and a secured locked position to allow locking of the device with a key.

Abstract: A piece of baggage is provided with a retractable identification card holder that slides into and out of a receptacle. When substantially retracted from the piece of baggage, the identification holder is able to clearly display an identification card that has been secured thereto. At other times, the identification card holder can be retracted into the receptacle where it remains concealed from view and where it does not detract from the aesthetic appearance of the piece of baggage. A method of identifying a person associated with a piece baggage utilizing the piece of baggage described above is also disclosed.

The cable is extendable from the bag body such that a free end of the cable may be inserted through a portion of the fastening mechanism and then locked to the bag body with the locking mechanism. In this way, operation of the fastening mechanism is prevented by the cable to deter access into the pocket.

The attachment mechanism comprises a clutch mechanism, an elongated flexible strap having an inner end fixably attached to the clutch mechanism and the outer end attached to a hook, the clutch mechanism being biased to pull the flexible strap onto the clutch mechanism and retract the hook to the clutch mechanism. A lid is pivotally mounted adjacent to the clutch mechanism and has a selectively open position where the hook and strap are accessible, and a selectively closed position where the lid covers the clutch mechanism and the strap or hook to the extent the strap is retracted onto the clutch mechanism. The lid engages the clutch mechanism in the open position to release the clutch mechanism whereby the strap can be extended from the clutch mechanism.

Abstract: The invention relates to a carrying case with a theft prevention clamp. It is especially designed for laptop computers left in public places, but may also be used to prevent other items from being stolen. The clamp is designed to removably fasten the carrying case to a table, but may also be used on shelves or other objects with similarly shaped surfaces. The clamp has a flexible portion and a rigid portion. The carrying case has an upper portion and a lower portion, which are pivotally connected. There is a lock for securing the upper portion to the lower portion when they are in a closed position. A keyhole switch activates a battery-powered electric motor to extend the clamp when a key is inserted, if the key is turned clockwise, or to retract the clamp, if the key is turned counterclockwise. Once the clamp is extended, it and the lower portion of the carrying case can be inserted around a table or other object with similar surfaces.

In a second embodiment a magnetic circuit and the detection device (RFID tag) are embedded into the shipping article during manufacturing. The preferred detection device, an RFID tag, could also be a battery backed transceiver type on which a replaceable or rechargeable battery could be mounted on the inside of the shipping container during manufacturing. The RFID tag would communicate with an interrogator unit, which could be connected to a host computer.
