Abstract: An electromagnetic connecting device includes a flange of a hub, an armature supported by the flange via a leaf spring, a rotor accommodating an electromagnetic coil, and an anti-vibration member. When an electric current is supplied to the electromagnetic coil, the armature moves in the axial direction of the hub against the spring force of the leaf spring, and is attracted to the rotor. The leaf spring includes a moving portion that moves in the axial direction together with the movement of the armature. The anti-vibration member is fixed to the moving portion of the leaf spring. The anti-vibration member includes a stopper that comes in contact with the flange, and a damper that comes in contact with the armature. The electromagnetic clutch has an armature plate that is attracted toward the rotor by an electromagnetic force generated by the electromagnetic coil so as to adhere to the rotor. Furthermore, the electromagnetic clutch has a coupler for coupling the armature plate and the rotary shaft to each other. The coupler includes a center part to be coupled to the rotary shaft and an elastically-deformable outer part for coupling the center part to the armature plate, the outer part being extended from the center part and elastically deformed when the armature plate is attracted to the rotor.

Abstract: An electromagnetically operable friction disk clutch having a electromagnet as well as having a rotor and an armature element to which the electromagnet can apply a magnetic field for interaction of the rotor and armature element, the armature element being arranged on a resting means which moves the armature element along a rotation axis of the rotor by magnetic force through a movement distance to a stop position on the rotor, and returns elastically without any magnetic forces to a position in which the armature element and the rotor can move, with respect to one another, without touching. According to the invention the resetting means comprise not only an elastic component but also a plastic component which at least partially compensates for the increase in the original movement distance resulting from wear by plastic deformation of the resetting means.

Abstract: A drive coupling system and method of engaging/disengaging the coupling provided by a drive coupling system are disclosed. The drive coupling system includes first and second torque couplers coupled respectively to drive and driven shafts. One of the couplers includes a support and first and second members rotatably coupled to the support, where each coupler includes a respective extension and a respective plurality of gear teeth. The first and second members are capable of being respectively rotated to first and second rotational positions beyond which the first plurality of gear teeth are able to at least begin to slip out of alignment with the second plurality of gear teeth. The relative slipping of the first plurality of gear teeth with respect to the second plurality of gear teeth is limited due to contact occurring between the extensions. As the relative slipping occurs, teeth of the two members become locked.
