Abstract: A collapsible protective helmet (10) comprises an impact-resistant base body (11) intended to encircle the head of a wearer and an impact-resistant crown (12) coupled to the base body by coupling means to be movable between a protective position in which the crown is supported by the base body in an orientation in which the crown covers the top of the head of the wearer and a stored position inverted relative to the protective position in which the crown is supported by, but nested in, the base body. The helmet further comprises releasable locking means for locking the base body (11) and crown (12) together in each of the two positions of the crown.

Abstract: A system for coupling an accessory to a hat having an interior surface and an opposite, exterior surface includes a brace configured to extend along the interior surface of the hat, a bracket configured to be positioned on the exterior surface of the hat, and a fastener configured to extend through the hat to thereby couple the bracket to the brace such that the accessory can be coupled to the bracket and thereby supported on the hat.

Abstract: The paper hat kit includes a first composite panel, a second composite panel, and a plurality of decorative structures. The first composite panel and the second composite panel are fastened together to form a hat. Each of the plurality of decorative structures attaches to either the first composite panel and the second composite panel.

Abstract: A protective cleaning sleeve is provided which substantially encloses a portable electronic device and which is configured with a narrowed stretchable cuff/opening made from a material that contacts and cleans the portable electronic device when it is being inserted into and removed from the sleeve. The stretchable cuff/opening is configured with a customized width or diameter narrower than a width of the portable electronic device so that it substantially closes around the portable electronic device and provides sufficient friction and contact with a display screen on the portable electronic device when the portable electronic device is being inserted into the sleeve and removed from the sleeve. In this manner, the narrowed stretchable cuff/opening cleans the display screen to remove fingerprints, smudges, oils, dirt and other particles simply by inserting the device into, and removing the device from the protective cleaning sleeve.

Abstract: An article of headwear including a crown component, a brim component, and an elongated attachment component is provided. The attachment component is configured to attach the brim component to the crown component. The attachment component may include a female-type engagement element along a first elongated edge of the attachment component and a flange element along a second elongated edge of the attachment component. The second elongated edge is opposite to the first elongated edge. The female-type engagement element has first and second arms defining therebetween an elongated channel having a length and a depth. The flange element extends in a direction transverse to the length of the channel. The crown component is attached to the flange element. The brim component includes a connection region configured for insertion into the channel. An article of headwear having an attachment component for attaching decorative elements to the headwear is also provided.

Abstract: A baseball cap with an interchangeable bill is disclosed whereby the user can change the bill of the cap with ease. The design of this product creates a separable bill and crown that integrates into one piece, the adjustment means and brim reinforcement means of the cap and maintains the ease at which one can switch out one bill and replace it with another. An embodiment is also disclosed whereby the replaceable bill is secured in place to prevent accidental dislodgement of the bill when one grabs at the hat to put it on. Another embodiment allows the user to replace the entire crown of the cap without even removing it from the user head.

Abstract: A head guard is provided which has a fabric layer and a padding layer. The head guard is stretchable between a relaxed configuration and an expanded configuration. The expanding configuration has a convex shape such that it can conform to a head of a wearer. The head guard can be worn by a wearer in combination with a helmet.

Abstract: Methods of forming collapsible hats are provided. One method includes forming a front portion of the collapsible hat, and forming at least one band portion of the collapsible hat extending from the front portion. The method further includes forming a plurality of top portions of the collapsible hat extending from the at least one band portion. The plurality of top portions are formed to be coupled at a single point in a use configuration of the collapsible hat to form a top portion of the collapsible hat. The single point at which the plurality of top portions are configured to be coupled is proximate to a center of the top portion of the collapsible hat.

Abstract: Headbands configured to provide pressure against a medical sensor secured to a patient's forehead are provided. The headbands may include one or more low friction materials to enable an elastic band of a tensioning mechanism to evenly stretch. Additionally or alternatively, the headbands may include two or more bands adapted to secure the headband to various portions of a patient's head. Still further, the headbands may be configured to independently vary the pressure created between two or more sensors and the patient's head.

Abstract: Helmets and methods for manufacturing a helmet are described. An example helmet includes an upper helmet component having a shell and a shock absorbing liner and further having a lower helmet component having a shell and a shock absorbing liner. The shock absorbing liner of the lower helmet component has an angled interface portion to which the upper helmet component is attached. A vent sill is attached to the shock absorbing liner of the upper helmet component and a vent shutter is slidably attached to the vent sill. An example method include forming a first in-mold component having a shell and shock absorbing liner and forming a second in-mold component having a shell and shock absorbing liner, the shock absorbing liner having a seamless headform. After a vent shutter assembly is attached to the first in-mold component the second in-mold component is attached to the first in-mold component.

Embodiments are primarily focussed on an emergency release mechanism for such helmets, which allows the helmet to be separated into a front and rear shell thereby to facilitate removal from a wearer's head with minimal stress to the neck.

Abstract: Headgear comprising a crown portion, a visor portion, and a netting secured to the visor portion. The crown portion is preferably separably secured to the visor portion. Various means of separably securing the crown portion to the visor portion are used including any of Velcro®, or other hook and loop fastening material, buttons, snaps, elastic, or the like. Various means of securing the netting to the visor portion are also used including any of Velcro® or other hook and loop fastening material, buttons, snaps, thread, or the like. The headgear may also omit the crown portion to provide only the visor portion with the netting secured thereto. In any case, a bill of the visor portion may be fitted between a door frame and an edge of the door and the frame, in order to render the netting available for tossing articles into the netting.

Each of the front panels has a lower edge stitched to the headband at a forward extent. The headband has a left rear panel and a right rear panel. Each of the rear panels has a forward edge stitched to a rearward edge of a front panel. Each of the rear panels has a free rear edge and free lower edge. The lower and rear edges of the rear panels are adapted to be positioned rearwardly in a first orientation and forwardly in a second orientation.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to hats, and more specifically to multi-function hats that provide the wearer with an enhanced sporting or fashion experience. The present invention pertains to an article of headwear with an integrated incision for maintaining and holding a portion of the wearer's hair outside the hat. This function is not only a fashion benefit but also is a safety function in that it keeps the wearer's hair away from the wearer's eyes by pulling the hair away from the wearer's face to the back of the head. The integrated incision also enables the article of headwear to stay on the wearer's head.

Abstract: A hat made from a camouflage-imprinted material and having a crown and a brim. The hat has a compartment in the crown for holding a bundle of camouflage strips attached to the crown and which are deployable about and over the hat brim upon opening the compartment. The hat also has a net storing feature for storing a lightweight camouflage netting about the crown on top of the brim. The net is deployable over the brim about the wearer's face, neck and shoulders.

Abstract: An economical to manufacture and easy to assemble billed hat constructed from a sheet of material having a base portion with a left and right headband portion and a central cap portion extending therefrom is disclosed. The distal ends of the left and right headband portions include an adjustable fastener to detachably secure these portions together to form an adjustable headband. The central cap portion includes at least one fastener to detachably and adjustably secure the cap portion to the headband, thereby defining an adjustable cap of the hat. In preferred embodiments, the base portion has a bill and the hat forms a baseball hat, and the hat is reversible such that a wearer may select one of two different surface indicia to display thereon.

Abstract: A hair protection bag with a first opening and a method for using the same are provided. The hair protection bag may have an open perimeter, a band around the open perimeter and a first opening associated with the bag. The band may be detachably connected to the open perimeter using an adhesive. The first opening may have a fastening system associated therewith to fasten, un-fasten and/or re-fasten the bag. The hair protection bag may further have a second opening associated with the bag. The second opening may have a fastening system associated therewith to fasten, un-fasten and/or re-fasten the bag. A cotton band may be attached to the open perimeter of the bag to prevent treatment solution from leaking from the bag. The first opening associated with the bag may be, for example, a zipper or hook and loop fasteners. The second opening associated with the bag may be, for example, a zipper or hook and loop fasteners.

Abstract: Headgear contains a transformable peak structure which is basically provided with a flexible material (such as metal sheet or metal meshwork) including aluminum, iron, copper, titanium, nickel, stainless steel, etc. The upper and lower sides of the flexible material are both adhered or hot-pressed with a coating layer. The adhered coating layer could be fabrics, paper, foamed EVA sheet, foamed PE sheet, whereas the hot-pressed coating layer could be PVC, silicone and plastics as PE or PP, etc. so that the peak of the headgear can be freely tranformed by hands.

Abstract: An article of headgear is provided which includes a pair of flaps that are releasably coupled with one another to form a cap shaped to cover the head of a wearer. The flaps are coupled with the sides of a headband, and a brim extends from the headband.

Abstract: An inexpensive multi-modality utility hat of non/gender-specific design, having advantageous features providing its user with the novel convenience of readily transforming into several different types of hats in one. For example, the brim portion can be quickly and easily detatched from its central cap portion via a zipper, enabling user to wear only either the cap or the brim separately if desired; -and, if the cap portion only is selected to be worn for a time, the brim twist/tripple-folds into a compact member which concealably stows within an integral-pocket portion of the cap. The cap portion includes an adjustable-cord compliance feature enabling one size to fit all, and may be optionally fitted with a broad or a narrow brim of circular, triangular, or squared motif: -and brim-width may be altered at front or sides via a simple gathering provision. Alternately, my light-weight compact hat can be carried fiat within a backpack.

Abstract: The modular cap assembly of the present invention consists of a visor component and a crown component which may be worn separately or together. One or more of the crown panels may receive detachable insignias and detachable pockets. Other accessories may also be attached to the visor and the crown.

Abstract: The core of the modular cap assembly of the present invention consists of two selectively detachable elements, a visor component having a forehead or billboard portion made of velcro hook-adhering fabric, and a crown component with a permanent fold-down sweatband that allows it to be worn as a brimless cap or “beanie” when separated from the visor. These two selectively detachable elements can be worn assembled as a cap, or each one can be worn separately as a distinct piece of headwear. The selectively detachable crown can be made in any silhouette, in any materia, and with any back closure known in the art of making caps, visors, and brimless caps of “beanies”. In addition, one of more of the panels of the selectively detachable crown can be made of velcro hook-engaging material, allowing the selective display of detachable insignias and detachable pockets with velcro loop-engaging material permanently affixed on back of them.

Abstract: A multi-application hat capable of being configured for different functions, such as a handbag, and hat styles. The crown portion includes a removable top member that doubles as a handbag with an internal pocket and a zipper member at its opening. A strap member facilitates its use by permitting a user to carry it over his or her shoulder and a clip permits the removal mounting and unmounting of the top member/handbag to a user's belt. The brim portion is flexible and has cooperative fastening members to bring its edge towards the crown portion for different styles.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a novelty cap with an open area includes a cap base, a first pivot cover, a second pivot cover, and a release latch. The first pivot cover is preferably pivotally attached to a front and rear of the cap base. The second pivot cover is pivotally attached to the front and rear of the cap base, adjacent the first pivot cover. The release latch is preferably mounted to one of the pivot covers. Pressing down on the release latch allows both pivot covers to pivot downward and reveal an opening in the top of the novelty cap with an open area. A novelty cap with openable areas includes a cap body, a first detachable flap, and a second detachable flap. Two openings are formed in a top of the cap body. One end of the first detachable flap is attached to a bottom side of a first opening and one end of the second detachable flap is attached to a bottom side of a second opening.
