Abstract: Systems and methods are described for manufacturing an adhesive tape. An example method includes: providing a plurality of adhesive webs, wherein each web includes a hot melt adhesive adhered to a backing material; providing a fabric web having a fabric material; guiding a first adhesive web from the plurality of adhesive webs into a first position proximate a first side of the fabric web; guiding a second adhesive web from the plurality of adhesive webs into a second position proximate a second side of the fabric web; applying heat and pressure to form a web of the baffle tape in which the first adhesive web is bonded to the first side of the fabric web and the second adhesive web is bonded to the second side of the fabric web; and rewinding the web of the baffle tape into a roll.

Abstract: A textile is provided that includes a plurality of warp yarns and a plurality of weft yarns woven together, the plurality of warp yarns each including an elastic warp filament and a non-elastic warp filament, and the plurality of weft yarns each including an elastic weft filament and a non-elastic weft filament. At least one of the elastic warp filament, the non-elastic warp filament, the elastic weft filament, and the non-elastic weft filament includes a hydrophobic material. The materials of the elastic warp filament, the non-elastic warp filament, the elastic weft filament, and the non-elastic weft filament are selected such that the textile has a high elastic stretchability in at least one of a weft direction and a warp direction. A garment including the textile, and methods for manufacturing the textile and the garment, are also disclosed.

Abstract: Articles of footwear and soles. The article of footwear may include an upper, a midsole with a midsole core and a midsole rim, and an outsole. The midsole core may be manufactured from a plurality of portions that are arranged in a particular order before being placed in a mold. The plurality of portions may be arranged so that the portions at least partially overlap each other. The plurality of portions may be arranged in longitudinal strips. The plurality of portions may be arranged in lateral portions. The plurality of portions may be adhered to each other before being placed in the mold. The mold may apply heat and pressure for a predetermined amount of time to form the midsole.

Abstract: A textile is provided that includes a plurality of warp yarns and a plurality of weft yarns woven together, the plurality of warp yarns each including an elastic warp filament and a non-elastic warp filament, and the plurality of weft yarns each including an elastic weft filament and a non-elastic weft filament. At least one of the elastic warp filament, the non-elastic warp filament, the elastic weft filament, and the non-elastic weft filament includes a hydrophobic material. The materials of the elastic warp filament, the non-elastic warp filament, the elastic weft filament, and the non-elastic weft filament are selected such that the textile has a high elastic stretchability in at least one of a weft direction and a warp direction. A garment including the textile, and methods for manufacturing the textile and the garment, are also disclosed.

Abstract: Provided herein are ecologically friendly waterproof fabrics that include a base fabric having a body-facing surface and an outward-facing surface, and a hydrophobic, waterproof barrier disposed on the outward-facing surface of the base fabric. The base fabric may be a wicking fabric or may be treated with a compound that enhances wicking, and the hydrophobic, waterproof barrier may include a plastic polymer, polyurethane, polyethylene, and/or polytetrafluoroethylene. The waterproof fabrics also may include an abrasion-resistant coating and/or a PFC-free durable water repellant (DWR) agent disposed on an outward-facing surface of the hydrophobic, waterproof barrier, and one or both of the abrasion-resistant coating and/or PFC-free DWR agent may be discontinuous. Also provided are methods of making a waterproof fabric.

Abstract: A sleeve cuff is provided for a sleeve comprising an anterior patch affixed to the sleeve and covering at least a portion of a cutout in the sleeve, a distal strap affixed to the sleeve and spanning over at least a portion of a cutout in the sleeve, and the distal strap overlapping at least a portion of the anterior patch to form an aperture for receiving a thumb therethrough. The sleeve cuff has a plurality of configurations, including at least a closed configuration where the aperture is closed and minimizes the wearer's exposure to wind and air elements therethrough, and an opened configuration where the aperture is opened and minimizes the air penetration around the received thumb.

Abstract: A liquid-proof seamed article including an elastic laminated panel and a corrugated elastic laminated panel joined at the sealing regions of the laminated panels is provided. In exemplary embodiments, both of the laminated panels are corrugated. The laminated panels each include a textile layer and a protective layer. At least one of the textile layer and protective layer is elastic. An adhesive pre-treatment may be applied to the elastic laminate panel and/or the corrugated laminate panel along respective sealing regions prior to forming a seam. Additionally, the laminate can be stretched to substantially flatten the corrugations prior to forming a seam. By substantially flattening the surface of the corrugated laminated panel(s), an adhesive may be applied such that there are no gaps in the adhesive. The corrugated laminates may be used as material for making garments. An apparatus and a method for making a liquid-proof seamed article are also provided.

Abstract: A clip for the construction of a temporary reduction of the seam of the sleeves of a short sleeve shirt, or the elastic cuffs of a long sleeve shirt. The clip creates a friction lock between the metal frame of the clip and the clip body with the material locked between the two parts of the clip. The clip creates a temporary seam or hem so that the shirt or other article of clothing appears tailored to accommodate medical prosthesis.

Abstract: Nonwoven safety garments are described. Features of the stitching of some embodiments limit the number of particulates emitted from seams between cut edges. Attachments features may be included on the garments to enable secure, external attachment of measuring equipment. Doffing features, such as loops, are provided to help the wearer safely remove the garment, either by helping her pull off part or all of the garment or by starting to separate closure devices. In some embodiments, a repositionable closure on a neck flap covers the neck up to the bottom of a face mask or respirator, and a grasping tab helps the wearer safely open the repositionable closure and the neck flap.

Abstract: A garment including a body of fabric having a waistband and at least two seams that extend from the waistband and a support structure that is connected to the at least two seams and the waistband is provided. The support structure further includes a pocket and a tape connected to the pocket that prevents elongation of the support structure between said at least two seams during the wearable life of the body of fabric.

Abstract: A durable athletic glove with an enhanced range of motion is provided. The glove has a palm-side portion and a back portion connected to form four finger sheaths, a thumb sheath, and an opening capable of receiving a human hand. One or more rounded, strain-relieving cutouts are located on the palm portion at a location corresponding to the area of a user's hand where two adjacent fingers connect with the palm. A strain-relieving finger gusset connects each cutout to the finger sheaths and palm-side portion. A thumb gusset extends from the back portion, between the thumb sheath and index finger sheath, and to the palm-side portion. The strain-relieving cutouts and strain-relieving gussets distribute force applied where finger sheaths connect to minimize glove failure. The cutouts and gussets allow an increased range of motion and stretchability for the user.

Abstract: The invention is a slidable fastening device that is sewn into a garment and replaces a static seam of the garment. The fastener has a male portion and a female portion that are permanently engaged with each other and slide up and down with respect to each other. The fastener is hidden from view such that a casual observer does not notice that the static seam has been replaced.

Abstract: A coverall is convenient for a worker to act, and can be easily distinguished at night, with a convenience for a worker in doing a job. The coverall includes an upper clothes part, waist part and lower clothes part. The coverall has a shape wrapping an upper body of worker, and the upper and lower clothes parts are united through the waist part. The upper clothes part includes a wear fastener part, front-face protective cover, back fold part formed folded on the right and left both sides of the back surface, and a luminous band. The waist part has a waist band with elasticity. The lower clothes part is coupled to the upper clothes part in a united type with the waist part, and includes a lower clothes opening part openable along a hip part of worker on a rear face, a dual pocket, and a luminous band. Abstract: A sports bib, in particular for cycling, having a pair of shorts, which can have either short or long legs, extending into a vest, which ends with a pair of straps. The bib is equipped with a zipper at the housing position of the anus and the genital organs. The zipper is provided with characteristics such as to not produce scrapes or rubbing at the genital areas and crotch on the user during movements and in particular while pedalling.

The supportive reinforced fabric may be ‘hidden’ (e.g., by being included in an inner liner of the apparel), or may be included directly in an outer “exterior” layer of the apparel itself. The supportive reinforced fabric includes a reinforced mesh-like fabric which is stretchable and breathable, yet has highly resilient and supportive properties. Exemplary materials from which such reinforced lining may be made include spandex, Lycra and any fiber composites incorporating elasticized and/or resilient properties.

Abstract: A method of forming a hem of an elastic material includes laying a first stretch fabric sheet upon a second stretch fabric sheet, cutting an excess edge strip from the first stretch fabric sheet and the second stretch fabric sheet along a fuse line and simultaneously fusing the sheets together along the fuse line, positioning an elastic strip between the first and second sheets along the fuse line, and fusing the elastic strip to one of the sheets to form a hem.

Abstract: An improved infant garment which is reversible and comprised of two different sides each being gender-specific where only one side is observable when worn. When the gender of an unborn baby is unknown, the features allow the use of one garment that is gender specific to both a boy and a girl. The garment can be made in multiple embodiments that are typical of infant clothing.

Abstract: A swimsuit without thread sewn seams includes a front portion, a back portion and a bonding structure connecting the joint of the front portion and the back portion. The bonding structure comprises that a glue layer is disposed between said fundus material and the joint of the front portion and the back portion. The elastomer set in the bra cup, the front portion, the fundus material and the steel circle are connected by solid glue. The present invention provides a swimsuit without patchwork. The steel circle is embedded in the swimsuit to make it comfortable and beautiful.

Abstract: A trouser is provided with an extensible waistband wherein a rearward waistband portion has an open side seam into which is disposed a slidable tail end of a forward waistband portion. This forward waistband is stitched to an inner elastic member which is stitched, in turn, to the rearward waistband portion proximate said open side seam. The waistband is expansible by way of the elastic stretch in the inner elastic member, but the tail end of the forward portion slides within the open seam and an open portion of the rearward waistband. There is no bulky material at the open seam and the relative movement of the forward waistband is not visually significant.

In the rainwear a first waterproof layer comprises a polymer material treated with an oleophobic composition to form an air permeable polymer material. A second fabric layer couples to a second side of the first waterproof layer. A stretch knit couples to the second fabric layer, the stretch knit being constructed to pull the rainwear to the body. The rainwear may for example form a shirt, pant, underwear, long underwear, hat hood or one piece body suit.

Abstract: A brassiere includes an article of underwear, two bra cups, and a cup edging enhancement substantially attaching the bra cups to the underwear. Each bra cup includes an outer layer and an inner lining overlapped thereto that a lining brim of the inner lining is misaligned with a layer brim of the outer layer to form a seaming portion at the inner lining. The seaming portion of each of the bra cups is overlappedly attached on the respective edge portion of the underwear while the layer brim of the outer layer is alignedly affixed to the respective bordering edge of the underwear in an edge-to-edge manner for substantially reducing a thickness of a seam between the bra cup and the underwear so as to avoid the visibility of the contour of the seam of the brassiere especially when the brassiere is worn underneath the clingy clothes.

Abstract: A garment to be worn by a person has a first fabric panel having a first side edge and a second fabric panel having a second side edge. The first and second panels are joined by stitching to form a seam near the first and second side edges. An aperture is formed between the fabric panels by an interruption in the stitching. The aperture may be formed directly on the garment, or may be provided as a set-in that is attached to the garment. The aperture may be positioned on the garment so that it will be located under the arm of a person wearing the garment.

Abstract: A product having fillers therein is provided, which includes two outer shells, at least one connecting member, and fillers. The connecting member has two connecting portions fixed to each other. The connecting portions are adhered to the outer shells respectively to form a plurality of compartments between the outer shells. The fillers are filled in the compartments. During fabricating the compartments, a hot press is performed at a time to form all of the compartments for saving time and cost. In addition, no needle holes similar to those formed by stitches are formed on the two outer shells, and thus the pieces of the fillers may be prevented from escaping out of the outer shells.

Abstract: The following information relates to new methods of recycling clothing. Although the concept of recycling garments is not new, the new methods and the results of those methods are both new and unexpected. Rarely is the recycling of garments as practical and as easy as the methods to be presented. Additionally, these methods of recycling can enable apparel manufacturers, sewing boutiques, and even home sewers, to save money and time. Benefits include sewing as little as possible while having the effect that much sewing has taken place. Another gain includes the prospect of recycling garments that failed quality control inspections due to slight imperfections. By utilizing the new methods, a marketable children's apparel line can emerge, from what would normally be a loss. Consider the benefits of a new children's apparel line almost completely sewn before the new recycling methods begin.

An example method includes ultrasonically welding a first piece of fleece fabric to a second piece of fleece fabric followed by stitching along and across the welded seam completely through the fabric layers using a zig-zag stitch. The system includes a first piece of fabric, a second piece of fabric fused to the first piece of fabric at a welded seam, and a thread stitched across the welded seam.

Abstract: Liquidproof seams are formed between laminates, most preferably those having a complex textile structure on the sealing side of the laminate, where at least a portion of the complex textile in the sealing region is removed, such as by skiving, to reduce the thickness in the seam, or sealing region, prior to the creation of a durably sealed liquidproof seam.

Abstract: A method of making a fluid impervious seam in a multilaminate fluid impervious medical fabric is disclosed. The multilaminate fluid impervious medical fabric includes at least two layers having different melting points, at least one of the layers is comprised of a fluid impervious material. The method includes overlapping two portions of the multilaminate fluid impervious medical fabric to form an overlapped region wherein the two layers having the innermost position in apposition to one another have a lower melting point relative to the melting point of the fluid impervious material layer. The two portions of multilaminate fluid impervious medical fabric are heat sealed together at the overlap at a temperature which is equal to or greater than the melting point of the innermost identical layers and which temperature is less than the melting point of the fluid impervious material layer.

Abstract: A pair of pants includes two pant legs, with each pant leg having a front pant panel and a back pant panel which are interconnected by two side seams. The front and back pant panels are sized such that one of the side seams has a seam course which, at least in one section is shifted to the back toward a leg back side of a wearer.
