Abstract: An infant play mat with a flexible central mat portion having a fabric surface that forms a first infant play area and including multiple flexible flaps extending from straight edges of the play mat. The infant play mat has a polygonal perimeter with multiple straight edges, with two of the edges defining a corner therebetween. Multiple flexible flaps extend from a respective one of the perimeter edges and define a fold line. Each flap has an upper flap surface exposed when the flap is extended, and hidden when the play mat is folded at the fold line to cover a region of the central mat portion. The central mat portion and lower surfaces of the flaps together form a second infant play area when the play mat is folded at all of the fold lines. Two of the flaps extend from the two edges to define the corner and are shaped such that, when overlaying the central mat portion, the two flaps do not overlap.

Abstract: Infant swaddling allows an infant to be comfortably and easily swaddled. The swaddling includes a pouch featuring a lower end that can be opened and closed to allow an infant's soiled diaper to be easily removed and replaced or to take a rectal temperature. The swaddling can include a blanket that comprises a first blanket flap and a second blanket flap and that can be removably attached to the pouch. The swaddle is used by placing one of the blanket flaps over the pouch, and then placing the other blanket flap over the pouch.

Abstract: A wearable blanket with a distributed weight system for providing gentle and soothing weight on an infant's body without excessive pressure with optional swaddling wings that are removably attached to the wearable blanket. The wearable blanket has an array of subpanels containing weight or pressure-inducing material that can be adjusted to provide evenly distributed weight throughout the front panel of the wearable garment or create a weight gradient to provide more focused weighted support to particular areas of the wearable blanket depending on the physical or medical need of the wearer. The subpanels are compartmentalized and separated from one another to prevent undesirable movement or accumulation of weighed material and may include individual pouches or containers to hold the weight or pressure-inducing material that allows for customization and adjustment of any of a number of the subpanels that constitute the distributed weight system.

Abstract: Described herein is an infant or toddler sleep device or accessory in the form of a garment with two detachable or non-removable weighted sleeves—one for each arm—to provide gentle pressure on the infant's arms to reduce the moro (startle) reflex. This device safely mimics the swaddling effect by adequately reducing the startle reflex and flailing of arms and safely exerting the benefits of deep pressure touch stimulation (DPST) without weighing down the infant's torso, thus helping baby sleep safely for longer periods of time. The weighted sleeves may be removed once the startle reflex decreases in intensity and the infant/toddler can still continue to wear the sleep garment to sleep. The sleep device may eliminate the risk of suffocation or overheating that other swaddle or swaddle transition garments or devices might pose.

Abstract: A wrap for an infant is provided. The wrap includes a first part configured as a loop having a through opening. A second part attached with the first part to seal off a portion of the opening and form a pouch configured to receive a bottom half of an infant. A portion of the first part including an elastic band configured for disposal adjacent a top of a diaper. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a multi-use article that can function as a jacket, carrying bag, blanket and/or pillow. In one embodiment, a multi-use article includes a first portion (torso cover) and a second portion (leg cover) releasably coupled by a fastener. The leg cover can include another fastener along axial edges of the leg cover to releasably couple its axial edges and form an enclosure. The leg cover can include a third fastener along a distal edge of the leg cover to provide the bottom of a bag when the third fastener is closed. When released from the leg cover, the torso cover can be used as a jacket, for example. When released from the torso cover, the leg cover can be configured as a blanket, carrying bag, and/or pillow (or pillow case). The torso cover can be inserted into a suitably configured leg cover to form a pillow.

Abstract: A garment is configured to facilitate wearing by an occupant of a seat assembly with a plurality of shoulder straps, such as a wheelchair or child car seat. The garment has an inner surface, an outer surface, and defines a slot that extends from the inner surface to the outer surface. The slot is sufficiently sized and positioned such that the shoulder straps are insertable through the slot when the garment is on the seating assembly.

Abstract: Mattresses for human stabilization may include a mass of foam material. A cover including a fabric material may at least partially surrounding the mass of foam material. Head blocks including a foam material may be located proximate to one end of the mattress. The fabric material of the cover may at least partially cover the head blocks, and the head blocks may be foldable relative to the mass of foam material to enable the head blocks to be positioned against lateral sides of a person's head. Human stabilization platforms may include a litter having a surface sized and shaped to support a person thereabove. Straps may be configured to restrain a person's head, the straps having releasable connectors at ends thereof. A track may be located on the surface of the litter, and may be configured to receive the connectors to affix the straps to the litter.

Abstract: A garment, preferably a garment for infants, toddlers and children, includes a zipper for securing the wearer within the garment. A locking device is provided for securing the zipper in a closed position when the wearer is received within the garment. The locking device has a retaining element for preventing movement of the zipper slider once it has reached its fully closed position, and a first closure element for enclosing the zipper and the retaining element. The locking device protects the and maintains the zipper in its fully closed position in two separate ways, namely, by retaining element preventing movement of the zipper from its fully closed position, and by the closure element which prevents access to the zipper and the retaining element when the zipper is in its fully closed position. Preferably, the zipper and the locking device are provided at a position on the garment which further prevents access to the zipper and locking device by the wearer.

Abstract: An infant drying bag configured to receive an infant therein so as to assist in the drying of an infant subsequent a bath. The infant drying bag includes a body wherein the body is formed from a first layer and a second layer. The body is rectangular in shape having a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge on opposing sides of the body. Proximate the lower end of the body is a lower peripheral edge. The first layer and second layer are joined along the first longitudinal edge, second longitudinal edge and the lower peripheral edge so as to form a cavity intermediate the first layer and second layer. The cavity is equivalent in size to the body and an opening is formed proximate the upper end of the body providing access to the cavity. The opening is defined by upper peripheral edges.

Abstract: A neonatal drape device for protecting a neonatal subject comprising a sheet configured to receive the neonatal subject in a supine position. The sheet has a base, at least one side edge, and a plurality of separation lines. The separation lines extend inwardly from the at least one side edge of the sheet. The sheet is sufficiently pliable so as to wrap and conform to the neonatal subject. The sheet further includes a plurality of notches disposed adjacent to the base, each at an inner end of one of the separation lines. The notches are configured to allow a cable to extend from an internal space of the neonatal drape device to an external location while the sheet is wrapped around the neonatal subject.

Abstract: Presented herein is an article of bedding, which includes a body portion and a flap portion. The body portion includes a substantially elongated member configured to cover, or be covered by, at least a first portion of each of one or more users' bodies. The flap portion includes at least one other member configured to cover, or be covered by, at least a second portion of each user's body. For example, the flap portion can extend along a top portion of the user's body when the body portion extends along a bottom portion of the user's body. The flap portion defines one or more sets of one or more flaps, which may be selectively wrapped and unwrapped around at least part of the second portion of each user's body.

The swaddling garment is a one-piece, seamless, or/or knit swaddle, without closures, configured to snugly receive a wearer's torso and arms.

Abstract: A mother's garment is adapted to effectively absorb her body scent, and also adapted to conveniently and safely convert to a baby's in-crib blanket. This way, the mother's body scent is safely made available to an infant to soothe and comfort the infant during the use of the garment as a baby blanket. Preferably, the woman's garment is a nightgown, with an added/separate fabric scent-absorbing panel secured to an interior surface of the nightgown. To deploy the nightgown safely as a baby's blanket, preferably the nightgown is turned inside out to effectively expose the scent-absorbing fabric panel directly to the infant. In addition, apertures or openings of the nightgown, like arm-holes and head/neck collar openings, are closed-up or securely tucked-away during deployment into the blanket configuration to prevent risk of strangulation or suffocation of the infant.

Abstract: A wrapped heating assembly may be wrapped around a tubular member for heating the tubular member. The wrapped heating assembly includes an outer insulation sleeve and a pocketed heating system that is fixed to an inner surface of the outer insulation sleeve in a manner that forms longitudinal pockets that extend between a first end of the outer insulation sleeve and a second end of the outer insulation sleeve. One or more heater strips are each respectively inserted longitudinally into a corresponding one of the pockets, wherein heat is generated by the heater strips when electrical current flows through the heater strips for heating the tubular member in a wrapped position. Multiple wrapped heating assemblies may be daisy chained together by electrical connectors into a heating system with a single thermostat and linked to a single power source to accommodate a wide range of configurations of tubular member systems.

Multiple fabrics and textures in the isolation bag, including mesh and denim, provide a pleasing tactile experience, which can be furthered by the placement of toys into the isolation bag. Sensory panels made with a sturdy, textured material such as denim provide tactile stimulation and resistance against wear and biting, as well as adding a comforting weight to the sensory activity sack for wearers with sensory issues.

The blanket may be conveniently rolled and stored by wrapping the ribbon around the blanket and tying a knot in the ribbon.

Securing the towel using the third and fourth cooperating fasteners, spaced along the major dimension, results in the towel depending from the neck of the caregiver in the direction of the minor dimension, facilitating wrapping of an infant/toddler.

The travel swaddle has a stiff central portion, which resists bunching, and a pair of wing wraps which extend from the left and right sides of the central portion. Abstract: A chair with covering. The chair with covering includes a frame that supports a seat and a back support that forms a platform that supports a seated user. The frame includes at least one support leg that raises the seat from the ground. A garment is connected to the chair and is configured to move between a deployed position and a retracted position, wherein the garment is stored within a pocket in the retracted position. The pocket is affixed to the chair and includes an open upper end for receiving and for removing the garment. In the deployed position, the garment is configured to extend over the seat and the back support. In one use, the chair and garment provide protection from inclement weather when outdoors. In one embodiment, the pocket is affixable to the chair via adjustable strap that wraps around the back support.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermal shield 1 for at least partly surrounding a newborn infant by the shield 1 to protect it from undesired cooling or heating. The shield 1 comprises a first layer 3 and a second layer 4 both of a transparent material, which layers 3,4 are joined so that there is at least one air containing pocket 5 between the layers 3,4. When the thermal shield 1 is in use, the mutual arrangement of the first and second layers 3,4 allows the at least one pocket to be deformable to an amount necessary for establishment of acoustic contact between the skin of the infant 10 and an acoustic transducer 11 placed on an outer surface of the second layer 4. In some embodiments of the thermal shield, the at least one air containing pocket 5 is air tight, and acoustic contact can be established over an area of at least 1 cm2.

The base has a bottom portion, a head portion extending from a first end of the bottom portion, and a foot portion extending from a second end of the bottom portion opposite the first end, the head and foot portions extending upwardly from the bottom portion to meet the side wall such that the base has an arcuate profile in at least a longitudinal direction. The bottom portion has a width which is less than that of the head and foot portions whereby the side wall defines a waisted portion partway along the longitudinal extent of the infant carrier to accommodate a side of a carer.

The base includes a bottom portion, a head portion extending from a first end of the bottom portion, and a foot portion extending from a second end of the bottom portion opposite the first end. The head and foot portions extend upwardly from the bottom portion to meet the side wall, and the bottom portion has a width which is less than that of the head and foot portions. The reduced width enables the side wall to define a waisted portion partway along the longitudinal extent of the infant carrier to accommodate a side of a carer. A method of preparing an ergonomic infant carrier is also provided.

The instant pack includes semi-rigid body boards contained over the mid-panel to add rigidity and enhance safety.

Such access openings are referred to as “open bottom pockets”. A nylon zipper minimizes damage to a surface against which a wearer of the upper body garment may contact.

The fastened wing and bottom flap are made of a material having sufficient resiliency to maintain and bring an infant back to flexed midline position within the infant positioning device. Abstract: A sleeping bag has an elongate shell defining an inner volume sized and shaped to receive a user therein. The shell has a head portion, a foot portion, a middle portion extending longitudinally between the head and foot portions, an overlying portion adapted to overlie the user during use, an underlying portion adapted to underlie the user during use, and a vent. The vent is selectively moveable between a closed configuration and an opened configuration to enable the user to access the exterior of the sleeping bag from within the sleeping bag. The vent comprises an inner panel and an outer panel. The inner panel is positioned in overlapping face-to-face engagement with the outer panel in the closed configuration. The outer panel is spaced from the inner panel in the opened configuration to define a passage to enable the user to extend his or her feet through the vent.

Abstract: A play mat is formed from a cushion material enclosed by fabric. A flexible rod-like element with a substantially continuous outer surface may be fixedly coupled to a portion of the mat. A slidable member is slidingly coupled with the rod-like element. In some cases, at least one article is coupled to the slidable member. The article includes a first item coupled to a second item by a length of material. The first item may be resilient so that the article is coupled to the slidable member when the first item is compressed and passed through an opening of the slidable member so that at least a portion of the length of material is positioned within the opening.
