  • Patent number: 5997522
Abstract: An enhanced flexibility fastener product has a base and hook elements extending from the base. Rip-stops integrally molded with the base and with the hook elements are offset relative to the hook elements to reduce widthwise stiffness of the fastener product. Edge margins of the fastener are feathered in that they taper or otherwise reduce in thickness over an extended distance, preferably from at or near the hooks to an edge, resulting in a softer, less irritating fastener tape. Fasteners according to the invention are particularly advantageous on disposable absorbent garments such as diapers, sanitary napkins, and other articles of wear which come into contact with a user's skin.

  • Patent number: 5321855
Abstract: An improved hook and loop reusable and reclosable fastening system for pairing socks, hosiery and gloves. The fastening system is permanently attached to the socks and hosiery. A preferred embodiment includes an elastic or other stretchable backing material attached to each hook and loop panel preferably made up of thin separable strips which can move with the expansion and contraction of the sock and attachment material. Another preferred embodiment includes several thin strips of the hook and loop panels attached directly to each sock, so that the sock itself can serve as a stretchable backing material. Another preferred embodiment is that each hook and loop panel, respectively, is attached to a logo or decorative pattern on the sock to camouflage the particular hook and loop panel. The products, such as socks, hosiery, gloves and the like can be attached by the hook and loop attachment means for washing, drying and storage.

  • Patent number: 5315716
Abstract: Easily removable and donnable pants. The pants employ a releasable seam along the outside of each leg and a plurality of separate hook and loop fastener segments distributed along the seam for closing the seam. The lowest fastener, at the bottom of the pant leg, offers less resistance than those above it. The highest fastener, at the waist of the pants, offers more resistance than those below it. The lowest and highest fasteners comprise tabs, to permit adjustment of the waist and ankles of the pants to the size of the wearer, while those in between preferably are wave shaped. Preferably, the waist and ankle are provided with elastic material to make those portions of the pants adjustable and snug.

  • Patent number: 5312282
Abstract: The invention relates to a baby bottle structure forming a doll. The baby bottle comprises a central fluid receptacle having a nipple portion at one end and a bottom portion at the opposing end. A removable cover is snapped about the nipple portion and forms the head of a doll. A removable bottom portion is attachable to the central fluid receptacle of the bottle and creates the feet portion of the doll. The feet of the doll are formed in such a way as to support the bottle in an upright position. The removable bottom support structure houses a music module that may be activated by tilting the baby bottle. The bottom portion also provides a housing for enclosing an independent pacifier. Thus, the baby bottle forms a musical doll and provides means for carrying a pacifier within its body structure. A bib is provided with the baby bottle doll and supports the baby bottle about the neck of an infant. A rattle or rattles may be removably attachable to the bib and form arms of the doll.
