  • Publication number: 20140138263
Abstract: This palette accessory and paint storage system keeps oil paint fresh and pliable for weeks at room temperature. A linear paint tray, upon which daubs of paint are placed, is stored inside an air tight tube. Felt wicks mounted inside the end caps hold clove oil, which prevents the oxidation of oil paints. For heavy bodied acrylics, the end caps are mounted with sponge material or silica gel that would be moistened to create a humid environment that prevents acrylics from drying and hardening. When the artist is ready to paint, the paint tray is removed from the storage tube and secured with clips or Velcro to a mixing palette, paint box, or easel. The painter dips into the paint daubs on the tray to mix the desired colors on their palette. When done painting, the paint tray, with the unused paint, is re-inserted into the tube for storage and transport.

  • Publication number: 20100032322
Abstract: An artist palette kit consisting of a reusable storage container, a foldable support palette, and a plurality of disposable palette sheets. The backing support is preferably made of single piece of 16 inch by 12 inch paperboard having a centrally disposed living hinge that allows the backing support to fold onto itself forming a palette shaped support that can be held in one hand. The palette sheets are constructed of aluminum foil, or a paper material that is impregnated with foil, to allow a fixed configuration when folded. The foil has a matte finish and is used by the artist for placing of paints thereon while painting. The foil palette sheet allows for ease of disposal of paint by carefully folding the foil onto itself so that no leakage occurs before discarding. Alternatively the foil palette sheet further allows for ease of disposal of paint by carefully folding the foil onto itself and placing the paint into a chilled area for later reuse.

  • Publication number: 20090173747
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bead craft system for making a bead craft. The bead craft system may be used with beads that are wettable and subsequently dryable to adhere to one another. In one aspect, the bead craft system may include a bead storage and dispensing device including a bead storage chamber having a bead storage chamber wall defining a chamber outlet aperture and a bead outlet conduit external to the bead storage chamber wall. The bead outlet conduit has an inlet. The bead storage chamber wall is movable between an unaligned position wherein the chamber outlet aperture is unaligned with the inlet of the bead outlet conduit to prevent the release of beads from the bead storage chamber, and an aligned position wherein the chamber outlet aperture is aligned with the inlet of the bead outlet conduit to permit the release of at least one bead from the bead storage chamber.

Abstract: A painter's palette is disclosed having a mixing area large enough to support the artist's color mixing needs with recessed paint troughs formed or attached to either side of the mixing area to store the various daubs of artist paint, separate the daubs from the main mixing surface, facilitate clean up of the mixing area, minimize the surface area of paint exposed to air, protect the user's sleeves and hands from paint daub contact, add structural integrity to the palette and support the palette at a reasonable distance above a flat surface to facilitate handling of the palette. Trough end caps or closed trough ends facilitate submerging paint daubs in the troughs in water. A centralized opening for the thumb or finger makes left and right hand use possible. The palette preferably has a medium color value or is white to allow the user to judge and facilitate the mixing of paint colors.
