Abstract: Disclosed is a dispenser useful for storing and dispensing sheet material comprising a flexible outer wrapper, which may be formed from a single piece of plastic, defining an interior space for receiving the sheet material to be stored and dispensed. The outer wrapper has a top surface and a first opening disposed thereon. The dispenser further comprises a dispensing panel disposed between the stack of sheet material and the outer wrapper. The dispensing panel may be formed from a semi-rigid material, such as paperboard having a bending stiffness greater than about 200 Taber Stiffness Units so as to provide the dispenser with some structural integrity and facilitate dispensing of the sheet material.

Abstract: A combination food pad container and dispenser includes an elongated flexible film container sized and shaped to slidably surround a plurality of horizontally stacked food pads that have at least one planar surface. The container has a surrounding wall, a closed top and a closed bottom. The surrounding wall has at least one perforation in the front wall orthogonal to the planar surface. At least one mounting aperture is located adjacent the top. A rack for supporting the food pad dispenser has at least one protrusion that is sized and shaped to fit through the at least one aperture. The surrounding wall includes front, rear, first and second side walls attached to the closed top and the closed bottom. The at least one mounting aperture is located in an extension of the rear wall or a two layer segment formed as an extension of the rear wall and the top.

In one embodiment, the container comprises a body having a cavity to store the articles and an open end having an inside surface for access to the articles. The container further comprises a flexible sheet having a body portion and first and second end portions. The first end portion is secured to the inside surface of the body. The flexible sheet can be moved between a first position where the flexible sheet is fully disposed within the body and a second position where the flexible sheet is disposed outward of the body with the articles resting on the body portion of the flexible sheet upon raising and tilting of the body to provide easy selection and dispensing of any article. The container and flexible sheet may be configured in many shapes and/or materials for different applications.

Abstract: A variable capacity ice storage assembly for a refrigerator freezer compartment includes a removable insert adapted to be positioned within an ice storage bucket to alter the storage capacity of the ice bucket. The insert includes one or more tabs having clips thereon for attaching the insert to one or more side walls of the ice bucket. The tabs are fixed to a main body portion having a first solid deflector extending at a first angle there from and a second solid deflector extending at a second angle. One or more hinges may be utilized to connect parts of the insert, resulting in a reconfigurable insert that can be utilized in multiple positions. When utilized in an auger-type ice dispensing system, the insert is sized such that the main body portion of the insert does not interfere with the function of the auger.

A first cap element of the system may have a first aperture and be adapted to be attached to the container, which is configured to house a multiplicity of pills of a generally uniform size, or liquid medication of a particular volume. A second cap element may be flexible, have a flange member extending generally radially outward from a diaphragm member and be disposed between the first cap element and the container. The diaphragm member may have a mouth portion, a throat portion and a cavity generally disposed therebetween. The cavity may be generally large enough to contain a fixed number of pills or a dose volume of liquid. By way of a simple actuation, the mouth portion opens and the throat portion closes, thereby allowing the cap system to release a discrete number of pills or a dose volume of liquid medication.

Optionally, the compressible package may include a scored bottom flap wherein the bottom portion of the sidewalls and the bottom flap are shaped such that when the carton is compressed by a user the resulting shape of the bottom flap complements the shape of the sidewalls, maintaining a substantially closed carton. Preferably the compressible package is a carton for storing and dispensing tissue and the carton assumes a wedge shape, which allows the carton to be fit into tight spaces, such as between the seat and the center console of the automobile while maintaining a substantially closed carton.

Abstract: A container for storing and dispensing wipes that includes an extendable orifice. The orifice is extendable into the storage space of the wipes container to position an opening in close proximity with the top of a stack of wipes stored in the container. The extendable orifice may also act to reduce moisture loss in the case of wet-wipes and reduce the occurrence of fall-back.

Abstract: According to embodiments of the present invention, a method for detecting solid articles using an apparatus including a sensor system is provided. The sensor system includes a radiation detector and a radiation emitter configured to direct radiation onto the radiation detector. The radiation detector is operative to generate detector signals proportional to the radiation received thereby. The method includes moving the radiation emitter and/or the radiation detector relative to the other. According to some embodiments, the solid articles are solid pharmaceutical articles.

Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic tablet packing apparatus having sliding racks, wherein tablets received in a plurality of tablet cassettes are successively packed on a per dose basis based on a medical prescription. Each of the sliding racks includes a pair of left and right partition walls, a tablet discharge passage to guide the tablets discharged from the tablet cassettes being defined by facing inner surfaces of the left and right partition walls. Cassette pedestals are attached to outer surfaces of the left and right partition walls and in turn, the tablet cassettes are detachably arranged on the cassette pedestals. The left and right partition walls are able to be individually pulled out from a body of the apparatus. As the left or right partition wall is pulled out, the tablet discharge passage is revealed to the outside thus enabling easy cleaning thereof.

The dispenser includes a container having top, bottom and side walls housing a supply of absorbent towels, and an exterior handle for facilitating transport of the dispenser. The top wall includes a finger-accessible opening through which absorbent towels may be withdrawn. In certain embodiments, the top wall is convex upwardly, but is flexible to enable it to be depressed when dispensers are stacked vertically so as to come into load bearing contact with the towel supply. In some embodiments, the top and bottom walls have interlocking configurations to add lateral stability to vertically stacked dispensers.

Abstract: A pill dispensing cap that secures to a conventional pill container. The pill dispensing cap has a lower cap, a pill discharge port, and a spring loaded rotatable and slidable upper cap. Pills are dispensed one at a time, and the remaining pills are isolated from external contamination. A child resistant lock prevents small children and/or mentally handicapped individuals from easily accessing medicine inside the container. The child resistant lock uses a vertically slidable upper cap that is slidably and rotatably attached to the lower cap. A child safety lock uses a key in the upper cap that must be aligned with a slot in the lower cap to allow a pill to be dispensed. When the key and slot are aligned, the upper cap is vertically compressed against the lower cap. As the upper cap moves toward the base cap, a gravity fed pill discharge port is exposed which releases a single pill.

The hollow tube or the gasket ring contains means for ensuring that only one cup is dispensed at a time. Cups are then dispensed downwardly out of the hollow tube and through the gasket ring and cup holder. The dispenser may also have a hinged or removable top.

Abstract: A positioning mechanism for a vending machine is provided to properly align product containers for vending purposes. The vending machine includes a cabinet that establishes a product storage zone, a product delivery zone and a dispensing chamber. Arranged within the product storage zone are a plurality of shelves which include dividers that separate the shelves into a plurality of product queues. Each product queue includes an dispensing mechanism that releases a selected product from the product queue for delivery to the dispensing chamber. In addition, each product queue includes a positioning mechanism to align products in the product queue. The positioning mechanism includes a support member secured to the divider and a spacer bar pivotally secured to the support member. The spacer bar automatically adjusts to a width of a product container placed in the product queue in order to assure proper alignment of the product for dispensing.

The push structure allows a user to push on the bottommost one of the stacked absorbent articles so as to move the uppermost one of the stack of articles towards the opening for grasping and retrieval by the user. A biasing element may bias the articles towards the push structure.

The package further includes an expansion member secured to the enclosed compartment and capable of expanding outward through the opening. The expansion member permits removal of the articles from the opened package while retaining the remaining articles in their initial orientation.

Abstract: A dispensing system that includes a housing and a cartridge which is to be inserted into the interior area of the housing. The housing includes a plurality of intersecting exterior sidewalls, a first end wall defining a dispensing throat, a second end wall, and a means for securing a cartridge within the housing. The cartridge includes a flexible bag, a plurality of products compressed within the flexible bag in the dispensing direction, a means for restraining the cartridge within the housing, and a means for releasing the products from the flexible bag.

Abstract: A flexible package has a dispensing opening with a closure label overlying the opening that is permanently attached to the package by heat sealing along an edge portion adjacent the dispensing opening. The label has a releasable adhesive on the underside of the remaining portion for selectively opening and resealing the dispensing opening. The package is formed from a film that is partially die cut to form the dispensing opening. The label with the releasable adhesive is then applied to the package over the dispensing opening and heat sealed along an edge portion of the film. The film and attached label are later folded to form an envelope, filled with dispensable product, and heat sealed to encapsulate the product. The label can be selectively opened and resealed to enable access to the product through the dispensing opening. Complete removal of the label is prevented by the heat-sealed edge portion.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing interfolded disposable sheets is provided. The dispenser includes a flexible dispensing container that is configured to house the stack of interfolded disposable sheets. At least one side of the flexible dispensing container is flexible. The flexible dispensing container has a slit in one side from which sheets are dispensed from the flexible dispensing container. The flexible dispensing container has at least one end slit on an end of the slit. The end slit is configured to aid in the dispensing of the interfolded disposable sheets.
