  • Patent number: 10046476
Abstract: A riving knife mounting assembly rigidly and accurately positions the riving knife relative to the cutting blade by way of a simple and intuitive mechanism. Interaction between a clamping plate and a locking plate engage opposite sides of the riving knife to hold the riving knife in place, and provides a sensible indication that the two components are properly mated. A cam lever assembly allows loosening or tightening the clamping plate and locking plate together about the riving knife by simply rotation of the lever. A spring assembly maintains pressure on the riving knife even in the loosened position to maintain proper positioning of the components. The clamping plate is part of a mounting bracket that is mounted to a motor arm movable with the drive assembly, and includes adjustment screws for adjusting the orientation of the riving knife relative to the cutting blade in multiple degrees of freedom.

  • Patent number: 8272549
Abstract: An offset, double-sided tape dispenser. The dispenser mounts two independent rolls of single surface adhesive tape on a common spindle. One of the rolls is inverted resulting in one roll wound clockwise and the other roll wound counter clockwise. The tapes are simultaneously drawn from the two rolls through a guide, across a roller and then a cutter. The clockwise wound roll tape has its adhesive surface facing upward as the tape crosses the roller. The counter clockwise wound roll tape has its adhesive surface facing downward as the tape crosses the roller. The clockwise wound roll tape is positioned beneath the counter clockwise wound tape as the tape passes through the guide. This results in the counter clockwise tape being joined to the clockwise tape as both tapes pass over the roller. The resulting double sided adhesive tape is then formed into desired lengths by the cutter.

The first and second tape guiding surfaces (6, 7) are oriented such that a common tangent plane touches the first tape guiding surface (6) in a first section (8) and the second tape guiding surface (7) in a second section (9). A portion of the second tape guiding surface (7) at a side of the second section (9) located remote from the first tape guiding surface (6) is angled with respect, to the tangent plane towards the housing (2), and the tape feeder (3) is disposed at the side of the first section located (8) remote from the second tape guiding surface (7).

Abstract: To provide a film dispenser case which allows a cutting member to be easily, safely, and completely separated from a box, and a case with the film. A film dispenser case 10 comprises a box body 12, a rectangular lid board, a cover lid piece and a cutting member. The box body 12 can contain a film winding body 1 which is formed of film 2 being wound. The box body 12 has a rectangular bottom board 14, a front board 16, a rear board 18 and two side boards 20. The box body 12 opens one face 26. The lid board 30 has a hinge side 60 and a folded side 62 opposed to the hinge side. The lid board 30 connects to the rear board on the hinge side to be rotatable about the hinge side, and covers the face opened. The cover lid piece 32 connects to the lid board on the folded side. The cover lid piece is formed into a substantially rectangular shape by the folded side, a front end edge side 64 opposed to the folded side, and two lateral sides 66. The cutting member 50 is for cutting the film.

Abstract: Provided is a film storage box, more particularly, a wrap film storage box in which a grip member for lifting the edge portion of a film is lifted in advance, the lift is maintained for a long period, and the grip member is highly durable against damage. The film storage box (or the wrap film storage box) is characterized in that the grip member is formed over the entire width of the front plate of the film storage box and is lifted in a curved shape by using a repulsive force generated by adhering an edge fold strip provided at the upper end edge of the front plate to the rear surface of the front plate, and durability is imparted by employing portions of the fold lines of the both side faces of the front plate as the both side portions of the grip member.

Abstract: A powered dispenser for dispensing individual sheet segments from a continuous roll of sheet material provided with spaced tear lines comprises a powered feed mechanism, a releasable, powered drive mechanism, a powered transfer mechanism, a pair of web sensing sensors, a capacitive sensing system providing automatic sensitivity adjustment, and control circuitry. A dual power supply system provides a mechanical lock-out functionality, and the control system is protected from electrostatic build-up on the surface of the feed roller. The web sensor, and an antenna plate of the capacitive sensing system, are provided on respective printed circuit boards mounted in overlying relation. Utilizing signals received from the pair of web sensors and the capacitive sensing system, the control circuitry senses the presence of a user to activate the powered drive mechanism, and prevents further dispensing of the sheet material until a previously dispensed segment is separated from the roll.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pill splitter. The pill splitter includes a main body with a top housing and a bottom housing having a blade mounted thereto. The top housing has a slot defined therein for receipt of the blade. The top housing moves relative to the bottom housing between a protected position and a cutting position. In the protected position, the top housing resides in front of the blade to prevent a user from contacting the blade. In one embodiment, a retainer moves between the blade mount and the bottom surface of the pill seat to prevent movement thereof. In the cutting position, the blade is routed through the slot in the top housing thereby exposing a cutting edge thereof for cutting a pill. The retainer clears from between the blade mount and the bottom source of the pill seat to allow movement thereof.

Abstract: A wrapping paper storage device and dispenser supports a sheet of wrapping paper between the top wall of the dispenser and a flap member. This support continues throughout the cutting operation, so that curling, wrinkling or edge deformation of the wrapping paper is prevented. The flap member is provided with a flap slot in a hard polymeric sheet. An upper surface of the top wall of the dispenser is comprised of a hard flat polymeric sheet. The cutter traverses the flap slot when contacting the hard flat polymeric sheet, thereby severing the fully supported wrapping paper in a reliable, efficient manner. The cutter may be a separate cutting implement, such as a razor blade or knife. It may alternatively comprise an integral, spring loaded, slidable cutter that rides in the flap slot.
