Abstract: A dual compartment box formed from a blank having a front panel, a first minor side panel, a rear panel, a second minor side panel, a second compartment front panel, a compartment minor side panel, and an inner tab. There is a first slide and a second slide extending from a first compartment, top flap and a second compartment top flap, respectively, and they are movable between an upright semi-open position permitting product to dispense through the apertures and a downward closed position blocking the apertures. When the blank is folded, two compartments are formed, and an outer tab top flap and a minor side top flap overlap each other and the projecting portions of both the outer tab top flap and the minor side top flap form a center stop member that interacts with the slides to prevent them from becoming disengaged with the package.

Abstract: Foldable insulation systems may comprise recyclable materials fabricated for ease of insertion into a typical box. Disclosed embodiments include the use of polyester fill encased or covered with a clear membrane or other surface material. Disclosed embodiments eschew the current trend of using biodegradable materials. The use of biodegradable materials represents a new found shortfall in the art as few useful insulation materials are biodegradable within a reasonable period of time. The disclosed insulation systems overcome shortfalls in the art by using polyester type materials that often achieve a number “1” value for recycling. Disclosed embodiments may be comprised of virgin resin or more common material such as recycled bottles and other recycled polymers, polyesters, polypropylenes and similar materials. Disclosed systems include a relatively flat insulation member that may be disposed or attached to the top of a box or other container.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a packaging apparatus foldable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The packaging apparatus includes a clam-shell style box including a main section and a cover section. The main section and the cover section are connected by a rear hinge panel. The main section includes a bottom panel, a left panel, a right panel and a front panel interconnected by fold lines. The cover section includes a top panel, a left panel, a right panel and a front panel interconnected by fold lines. The rear hinge panel is connected to the bottom panel at a lower fold line and is connected to the top panel at an upper fold line. Flaps of the front panel are adhesively bonded to the left and right panels. Angled perforations allow portions of the front panel to be folded down with the left and right panels when the box is moved to the collapsed configuration.

Abstract: A container for transporting an item is provided having an outer case member and a pair of partition members. The container is erectable from a collapsed configuration, in which the container is substantially flat, to an erected configuration in which the partition members form a support structure within an interior cavity of the outer case member to support a portion of the item to be transported. Methods of packaging and transporting an item in a container are also provided.

Abstract: A paperboard carton for receiving articles in two or more layers separated by a divider pad is provided. The divider pad is secured relative to an end panel arrangement at one end of the carton. The carton has a top panel, a base panel and a pair of opposite sides. One of the side panels has a removable portion adjacent one end, which, when removed, defines a roll out aperture for article removal when the carton is lying on the end panel arrangement.

Abstract: A blank configured to form a multi-compartment package is provided. The blank may include a rear panel, a rear side panel connected to the rear panel, a first side panel connected to the rear panel, a front panel connected to the first side panel, a second side panel connected to the front panel, and a dividing panel connected to the second side panel. The blank may be formed into a multi-compartment package including front and rear compartments in accordance with a related method. A first item may be inserted in the front compartment and a second item may be inserted in the rear compartment to form a related assembly. A width of the first side panel may be greater than a width of the rear side panel.

Abstract: A container for food and/or drink to be consumed on the move comprises a first portion (24) forming at least a first holder (3) for containing at least one food to be consumed on the move or for a first receptacle containing a food or a drink to be consumed on the move, and at least a second portion (25) connected to the first portion (24) and forming at least a second holder (4) for supporting a second receptacle containing at least one food or a drink to be consumed on the move. The first holder (3) and the second holder (4) are vertically aligned and they are distanced from each other in such a way as to allow the user independent access both to the first holder (3) and to the second holder (4). For that purpose, at least a third, connecting portion (28) is fixed to the first portion (24) and to the second portion (25) and forms at least one opening (29) for access from above to the lower holder. A method for making a container of this type is also claimed.

Abstract: A modular panel-packing box receives a plurality of panels, and includes a base, two partitioning units, a loop-shaped surrounding wall, and a top cover. Each of the partitioning units includes a socket and at least one partitioning member. Any two adjacent ones of the base, the socket, the partitioning member, the surrounding wall, and the top cover are interconnected removably. Each of the base, the socket, the partitioning member, and the top cover is folded, and is unfoldable to form a flat plate for facilitating transportation and storage of the modular panel-packing box.

Abstract: At least one embodiment of a package system for particulate organic product includes a box element and an insert element. The box element generally includes a side pocket for retaining an auxiliary packet, such as a packet of cigarette rolling papers. The insert element acts as a transparent window aligned with one or more window apertures in the first face panel of the box element, and is extendable from the box element to provide a tray which can be partitioned into a product measurement zone and a product retentions zone. The partitioning may be provided by a foldable closure panel and associated tuck flap acting in cooperation with one another. The box element and insert element may be formed from respective pre-cut and scored blanks.

Abstract: A collapsible container assembly comprising a folding container having at least four walls, with the at least four walls being pivotable relative to each other to allow the folding container to collapse in a parallelogram motion, and an inside cellular structure connected to the at least four walls. The cellular structure comprises a plurality of interconnected panels forming a plurality of cells, with the panels being formed of soft, deformable material. The folding container can be folded with the inside cellular structure therein such that the collapsible container assembly will be substantially flat when the folding container is moved to a collapsed position.

The blank further includes at least one securing assembly including a plurality of cutouts shaped and oriented to secure the at least one meter within the compartment in the assembled container, the securing assembly extending from the top edge of one of the side panels.

Abstract: A packaging container having sustainable repulpable/recyclable capability specifically sized to maintain the integrity of the Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE™) rations used by the U.S. Army and military services. A coated corrugated fiberboard using a C-flute configuration is utilized in a novel packaging design that incorporates a liner or a vertical container divider.

Abstract: The invention relates to a corrugated cardboard packaging crate (12) for transporting a load (13), and to a method and to a device for making such a crate. The crate comprises an open box, a lid 20, and a cardboard wedging plate (1, 10) for maintaining the load into place. The wedging plate comprises a central panel (2), two opposite first flaps (3, 4) respectively connected to two corresponding peripheral edges (6) by marking flutes having a height larger than that of the box and at least two opposite tab-forming second flaps (9, 11) respectively connected to the two other peripheral edges of said panel by marking flutes. The wedging plate is force-inserted into the box, and the first and second flaps interact by friction with the inner walls of the box, the free end edges of the first flaps being horizontally force-folded and blocked by the inner surface of the lid so that the load is blocked by compression between the plate and the bottom.

Abstract: A carton having a shipping configuration, used for shipping and storing product, and a display configuration, used for displaying product on the top of a point of use water distribution apparatus, which may be an inverted water bottle. The carton has a first member, a second member and a hinge member. The first member has a first recess and the second member has a second recess. A compartment for holding product when the carton is in a shipping configuration is provided. The first recess and the second recess cooperate to form the compartment. The hinge member extends between the first member and the second member, into the compartment when the carton is in the shipping configuration. The hinge member cooperates with the product to maintain the product in position in the compartment when the carton is in the shipping configuration.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a container for non-liquid food, such as for popcorn, potato chips or french fries, and has a bottom and an upright peripheral wall which together delineate a cavity for holding the food, as well as a pocket, which is formed from parts of the peripheral wall for holding an object that accompanies the food. In order to prevent an escape of the food located in the cavity and/or a contact of the object in the pocket with the food in the cavity, the invention provides that a lower end of the pocket is formed from a movable peripheral wall part which is delineated by two fold lines diverging upwards in a V shape and a punch line or cut joining the upper ends of the fold lines at a distance from an upper edge of the peripheral wall.

Abstract: A foldably assembleable generally rectangularly-shaped box-like container with spaced lateral and longitudinal walls where one longitudinal wall has a greater height and has two hooks, or folds into a hook-like shape, for placing the container upon a bed rail. Optional stiffener box or shelf constructions may be employed to strengthen the container against collapse and to effect shallower compartments. The container can be foldably formed from one or two layers of material, often cardstock or cardboard.

Abstract: A 4 G fiberboard box certified for shipping hazardous materials in accordance with United Nations regulations. In some embodiments, the 4 G fiberboard box includes an outer shell, a three-piece partition assembly, a top insert and a bottom insert. The outer shell has a width and a length, each no greater than ? of 46 inches. Thus, the 4 G fiberboard box is shippable in a 3×3 configuration on a standard 46?×46? pallet. The three-piece partition assembly is disposed within the shell and has four compartments, each compartment configured to receive a container storing hazardous material. The top insert and bottom insert are also disposed with the shell, with the partition assembly positioned therebetween.

The interior includes a cross support formed from a supplementary blank that is configured and adhered to opposed panels of the primary blank so as to function also as a divider of the interior of the container. The cross support is formed as part of the set up or final assembly of exterior of the container.

Abstract: A carrier tray (1) for beverage cups, bottles, and consumables or edible products is disclosed which is able to be folded from a blank (11). The tray has a base (2, 3) an upper deck (5), side walls (12, 13), a handle (15) and container receiving apertures (6-9). The blank is able to be fabricated from a single sheet of cardboard without gluing and folded to form the carrier tray. Braces (32, 33) which fold out from the handle strengthen the tray. Unbalanced loads are able to be supported by the tray.

Abstract: A universal shoe box has plural faces formed of a common continuous material with each face having a preferential fold disposed between adjacent faces which enable the quick assembly and disassembly of the shoe box. The shoe box includes a display window to enable quick and efficient visual identification of the contents of the shoe box on an image/photograph depicted on a card which may be disposed within the window. Two embodiments of the shoe box are presented, one primarily suited for residential/after market usage and one primary suitable for retail storage usage.

In other embodiments, a blank forms a carton with two adjacent compartments that are coverable with a hinged, attached lid. The lid is separable from the lower compartment portion of the carton by detachment along a tear strip. In still other embodiments, the blank forms two adjacent compartments that are not covered by an attached lid. The orientation of at least some of the carton embodiments allow orientation of the carton formed in a number of configurations, such as resting on a side panel.

Abstract: A confectionary package is disclosed having a metering top, a paperboard body, and means for securing the body to the top. The metering top having an upper surface, a skirt extending below the upper surface, an opening in the upper surface sized to meter a portion of confectionary, and a hinged door having a closed position and sized to cover the opening when in the closed position. The body being formed of paperboard folded and secured into a generally tubular shape having an upper end and a lower end, the upper end having a cross section sized to mate with the metering top, and the lower end including flaps that may be closed creating a sealed container. The adhesive may be a label placed over the metering top and extending down the sides of the paperboard body.

Abstract: There is provided an improved retail produce box, preferably for fresh potatoes. Each box comprises a bottom wall, four side walls with beveled corners where adjacent side walls meet, said bottom wall and side walls defining a substantially rectangular box interior. That interior is covered by a lid made from folded over extensions of two opposed side walls with one of said lid extensions at least partially overlapping the other lid extension to minimize light penetration into the box interior and allow for some settlement of contents after filling. The bottom wall may have a plurality of apertures for visual inspection of the contents and facilitating air circulation within. Preferably, the overlapping lid extension includes a hinged and tabbed section that can be flipped open for visually inspecting the box contents and lowered back down after. A plurality of such boxes, in various produce quantities, may be boxed together for shipping in a master container.

Abstract: A shipping container system for shipping pastries, especially adapted for shipping cupcakes, is provided. The system includes an outer box having a detachable outer lid, a receiving divider tray snugly insertable into the outer box and having therein an array of spaced-apart apertures into which pastries are placed for shipping, and a plurality of small posts, the number of which corresponds to the number of pastries, the proximal end of one of each post being inserted into each pastry in vertical orientation prior to shipping. An inner retaining lid encloses the pastries in the outer box, the inner lid being sized to seal the pastries within the outer box, the inner lid having integrally fabricated therein a plurality of outwardly oriented frustum-shaped protrusions, also corresponding in number to the number of pastries, with the protrusions being in concentric registry with the tray apertures on assembly of the system.

The package has a tray for holding the food product, a lid foldably connected to the tray, and a partition at least partially received in the tray. The partition separates an interior space of the tray into a first compartment and a second compartment. At least one of the lid and the partition comprises a microwave interactive material.

Abstract: A cigarette package, which includes an outer box and an inner frame. The outer box includes a lower box portion and a side opening hinged lid. The inner frame includes a front panel, a back panel, and a side panel extending between the front panel and the back panel. The outer box includes a tab and the inner frame includes a notch, such that the notch engages the tab when the hinged lid is in a closed position.

Abstract: An insulated food crate comprises a generally rectangular, typically cardboard box having separable top and bottom portions with double walls providing insulative properties and also insulating inserts fitted into the top and bottom portions. The box may also have ventilation holes or slots and/or compartments for serving utensils and may be disposable. In alternate embodiments, the insulated food crate may be made from a heat-resistant composite material, such as a reinforced plastic or stainless steel, as a more permanent, durable, and reusable solution. This inexpensive, accessible catering box keeps hot foods hot and cold foods cold while allowing quick and easy access to the foods inside.

Abstract: A system for manual delivery of mail to a series of recipients includes a stack of mail holders each comprising a front flap, a back flap and a central fold. One or more mail pieces are disposed in each holder, such that all of the mail pieces in each holder are to be delivered to the same recipient. The holders are stacked in a predetermined order for a carrier delivery route, and may be banded or otherwise secured together until the time of delivery.

When the one divider is folded or bent, multiple levels are created in the partition assembly.

Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a carton suitable for transporting bottles, the carton including: i) a series of side wall panels that are interconnected and form an enclosure and can be manipulated from an empty collapsed orientation for storage in a space saving manner to an assembled orientation into which bottles can be loaded; and ii) an internal wall structure positioned inside and connected to the side wall panels at pre-selected locations such that as the enclosure is manipulated from the collapsed orientation to the assembled orientation the internal wall structure is located in an operative position which defines separate compartments each adapted to receive a bottle and thereby avoid bottles loaded into the carton from contacting each other.

The first compartment can contain a specimen, placeable within the first compartment. The second compartment can contain a label, placeable within the second compartment. The specimen is viewable through the first window, and the label is viewable through the second window.

The top receiving room has a front opening and a rear opening both communicating with the top receiving room. Abstract: A blank for constructing a crush-tolerant container includes a first side panel, a bottom panel, a second side panel, and a top panel coupled together in series. At least one cutout and at least one bridge portion are defined along a first fold line between the top panel and the first side panel. The at least one bridge portion and the at least one cutout are configured to maintain the top panel in a plane spaced above a top edge of the first side panel when the container is formed and the top panel is not under a stacking load, and to allow the top panel to move downwardly such that at least a portion of the top panel is substantially co-planar with the top edge of the first side panel when the container is formed and the top panel is under the stacking load.
