Abstract: A taco holder including a rigid, foldable template that retains a crease when folded, which has portions and fold lines configured so that the taco holder is easily configurable between an open configuration and a folded configuration. The open configuration is defined by the fold lines being substantially unfolded such that front edges of the portions of the taco holder define an opening configured to receive a taco or other folded sandwich food. The folded configuration is defined by the fold lines being substantially folded such that the foldable food container is substantially flat.

Abstract: A bag made of water resistant paper or plastic for holding a “goopy” sandwich such as a hamburger, hot dog, etc while eating the same is fitted on the open end with a collar extending generally radially from the bag. The collar or drip plate is adapted to catch liquids, slurries, and small particles falling from the sandwich. The catchings are either retained on the collar or directed back into the bag where they either soak into the sandwich or run to the bottom of the bag. In either case, the drippings do not fall onto the diner, table, or floor.

Abstract: A food container provides information of food order with both obverse and reverse form on one side. A first pattern having content of food order and a third pattern having nutrition information of the food are printed on the outer part of one side of the food container in obverse form and a second pattern having content of food order is printed on the middle part of the same side of the food container in reverse form. The food container is translucent and all the patterns are visible from the other side, which provides the fast food industries an easy way to wrap and deliver the foods fast and correct.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a carton for a diagonally cut sandwich or like foodstuff formed from a blank of card and having triangular end walls connected by rectangular side walls to form a triangular prism-shaped container. One side wall of the container is hinged to another wall of the container to provide an opening for insertion/removal of foodstuff and to form a lid for closing the opening. The edges of the opening have out-turned flanges and the periphery of the lid overlies the out-turned flanges encircling the opening when the lid is in the closed position whereby the lid can be bonded to the flanges to seal the contents of the carton.

Abstract: A packaging case 1 is formed of a unitary blank 1a of paper material. The unitary blank 1a has at least two fold lines 2a, 2b between which a back side wall 6a is formed and both sides of which a bottom wall 10 and a top wall 11 are formed. The unitary blank 1a has also incisions 3a, 3b formed on both ends of the fold lines 2a, 2b. The unitary blank is deep drawn to form side walls 6 on each periphery of the bottom wall 10 and the top wall 11 and form rims 8a, 8b protruding outwardly from each upper end of the side walls 6. The unitary blank is folded along the fold lines 2a, 2b so that the rims 8a, 8b come into contact with each other, whereby the bottom wall 10, the top wall 11, the back side wall 6a and the side walls 6 constitute an inner space.

Abstract: A food serving apparatus having a flat food-supporting member consisting of a material sized to prevent served food from contacting unsanitary surfaces, and having sufficient rigidity, to support one or more food items. The food-supporting member has at least one food-retaining portion integrally formed adjacent thereto which extends upward, or can be positioned upward by a user, relative to the food-supporting member, in a manner which increases rigidity of the member. The food-supporting member has at least one bendable cross-section tangent to at least one user-breakable joint of a food-retaining portion to allow separation of the separable joint(s). Breaking of the joint(s) allows a user to bend the food-supporting member downward and away from food supported to facilitate the eating experience. The apparatus accommodates a variety of shapes and optionally includes a fold-over tab to assist a user in securing food beneath the tab and above the food-supporting member.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a tortilla housing and support apparatus, configured to be manipulated so that the housing performs as a tortilla support device that provides vertical support to at least one tortilla. The tortilla housing and support apparatus is initially used as a tortilla-packaging box, such as tortilla boxes currently in use at supermarkets for housing tortillas. The tortilla housing has a configuration so that it may be manipulated from serving as packaging so that it performs as a tortilla support device.

Abstract: A device for dispensing sandwiches including a tubular body having an oval cross-section and a disk member positioned interior of the tubular body. The tubular body has a slot extending longitudinally along and through a wall of the tubular body. The disk member has an arm extending outwardly therefrom. This arm extends outwardly of the tubular body through the slot. The wall of the tubular body is of a flexible material. The tubular body has a closed end and an open end. The disk member is a solid planar member extending transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body. A guide rod is positioned within the tubular body and slidably receives the disk member thereon. The guide rod has a plurality of fixing elements suitable for retaining the disk member at a desired position within the tubular body.

Abstract: A sandwich wrap comprising a sheet wrap attached to a base strip The base strip is elonaated in a longitudinal direction and includes at least one tear line extending between the longitudinal ends. The base strip is longer than the sheet wrap in the longitudinal direction, while the sheet wrap is longer than the base strip in the lateral direction. The longitudinal ends of the base strip extend beyond the respective longitudinal edges of the sheet wrap. The sheet wrap is more pliable than the base strip.

Abstract: Food packaging for packaging a food item in separate layers. The package includes a retaining member with openings to receive separating sheets between layers of food Separating sheets are removed while retaining layers of the food item from moving, just prior to consumption. The food is retained in layers in a box like enclosure integrally including the container.

Abstract: A sandwich wrap includes a base strip to which a sheet wrap is affixed, the sheet wrap extending beyond two opposing edges of the base strip. To wrap a sandwich, the sheet wrap is wrapped around the sandwich and the base strip is folded around the sheet wrap. The ends of the base strip are secured together either permanently or removably. To gain access to the sandwich, the consumer either disconnects the ends of the base strip and unfolds the sheet wrap, or the consumer removes a tear strip which divides the base strip into half-sections, whereby the user may discard one of the half sections and grip the other half section to hold the sandwich.

Abstract: A sandwich holder that includes an elongated strip having two opposite ends, i.e., a first end and a second end. The sandwich holder includes an intermediate portion between the two opposite ends. A slot is included, and that slot is generally adjacent to the first end of the elongated strip. At least two tabs are generally adjacent the second end of said holder, and each of these tabs are generally interlockable with the slot. These tabs are preferably of a generally triangular configuration. The sandwich holder includes edge portions, and these edge portions are disposed on two of the three sides of each of the triangular tabs. These edge portions are parallel with peripheral, lengthwise sides of the intermediate portion. The sandwich holder preferably has between three and seven tabs, but may have more or fewer tabs. The triangular tabs of the sandwich holder have a third side, and this third side has a greater length than the length of the slot.

Additionally, the user may dispense or display product from the container while it is in the first open position. In the second closed position, the container covers or encloses the product. The closed position is useful for storing the product or transporting the product between two points such as the point of manufacture to the point of use or sale. The container may take the form of a plate, bowl, tray, clam shell, shipping container, display device, or other known configurations.

Abstract: This invention provides an improved food package, and method for producing the food package, which combines an individual food container with a wrap. The food package makes the process of wrapping a food, such as a hamburger, more efficient and makes the food easier to eat. The food package may be a bag or a carton of any composition suitable for the purpose of holding a food item. The food container is attached to a wrap that has a length and width significantly larger than the dimensions of the food container. The method for producing the food package includes unwrapping and cutting of a wrap material on the same vacuum belt assembly as an adhesive application and a hopper feeder.

Abstract: A food pack comprising a tray formed from card having a rectangular base with fold up side and end walls and a sheet of wrapping material extending over the tray and adhered to the side walls to receive a food item. The sheet is folded over the item across the tray and the folded ends of the sheet projecting from the ends of the tray are tucked between the base of the tray and the sheet extending across the base. The end walls of the tray have convexly curved fold lines with the base of the tray whereby the end walls of the tray are folded upwardly with respect to the base to enclose the wrapped food item with the side walls.

Abstract: A more convenient, user-friendly and less messy packaging that enables the eater to cleanly and hygienically hold and handle hamburgers, beef burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, fish burgers, croissant sandwiches, Kaiser sandwiches and similar fast foods; and expose one bite-sized portion of the fast food at a time. The packaging shell has symmetrical and matching segments in the bottom and top plates that the eater can tear off in order to expose the fast food in one bite-sized portion at a time while eating; and, provides space to act as a trough for catching morsels, spills, drips, and run-offs and fluids from vegetables and condiments.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved, cylindrical, paperboard collar for placing around a specialty sandwich such as a multilayer hamburger or such. The collar blank is cut from flat paperboard stock in the form of an elongated rectangle which is folded back over itself having its free ends adhesively attached to one another whereby the resulting flat preform may be expandingly opened to form a cylindrical configuration. Two tongue like locking tabs are cut into the paperboard surface which when the preform is expanded to form an upright cylinder the tabs act to maintain the open cylinder.

Abstract: A wrapper for an article includes a sheet of wrapping material folded to form a flat sleeve with an out-turned seam formed by edge portions of the sleeve extending along the center of one side of the sleeve. The edge portions are secured together at the ends of the sleeve and the sides of the sleeve are secured together along a line or lines which define, in a central region of the sleeve, the periphery of an enclosure. The enclosure can be opened by separating the edges of the seam in the central region of the sleeve to receive an article and then be closed together and the end portions of the sleeve wrapped around the article contained in the central region of the sleeve. A method is also described.

Abstract: A holder for a taco shell is formed with a taco shell receiving trough which is adapted for supporting a taco shell substantially upright. The taco shell receiving trough is defined by a narrow longitudinal support base panel having opposed longitudinal spaced-apart straight edges. An outwardly inclined rectangular side wall panel extends from each of the straight edges to form a substantially V-shaped receiving trough. A brace panel of rectangular shape extends from a straight top edge of each of the side wall panels and extends at an outward angle therefrom to a flat, surface engaging, support foot lying in a substantially common or parallel plane with the support base panel. A composite bottom connecting wall maintains the support base panel, the side wall panels, the brace panels and the support feet in a taco support position.

Abstract: A bag of flexible material for packaging an edible food product and supporting the food product for eating has a closed bottom and an open top for receiving a food product. A wall of the bag is adapted to be opened between the top end and a location spaced above the bottom end of the bag, whereby a closed pouch is formed below the location by which a consumer can hold the food product and wherein the portion of the bag above the location is foldable outwardly about the pouch to provide a skirt covering the consumer's hand.

Abstract: A reusable sandwich holder may be quickly and easily wrapped around a sandwich and also serves as a place mat over which the sandwich may be eaten once unwrapped. The sandwich holder includes a decorative cloth outer cover and a plastic inner liner that maintains the freshness of a sandwich wrapped therein. The sandwich holder may be washed, either by hand or in a clothes washer, to permit its repeated reuse.

Abstract: A package for a food product such as a cylindrical sandwich includes an elongate central strip having a plurality of fold lines defining a series of panels. A central panel of the series includes a central flap connected at each side edge, and other closure flaps are connected to at least some of the other panels. The panels are folded with respect to each other so that the endmost panels are positioned to define a polygonal cross-section for the package. The closure flaps and central flaps are folded to close the package. An outer portion of each central flap is free from the remaining closure flaps to permit outward folding of the panels for access to the food product. Several alternative embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Packaging for accommodating a food item comprising a lower panel (12) and an upper panel (14) which are supported to be in spaced apart relationship to provide a space which is intended to accommodate the food item, a wall element (13) provided between the upper (12) and lower panel (14) to substantially surround the space and having at least a portion (20) capable of being moved across the space from one side of the space to an opposite side of the space, said side wall (13) at the opposite side being open or capable of being opened to permit access to the food item from the opposite side with movement of said portion (20) of the side wall, said upper panel (14) being removable from above the space to provide access to the space.

Abstract: An improved food storage container is formed from a container body having two sides separated by a shared edge, which defines an axis about which the two sides are adapted for movement between open and storage positions. The open position is defined by a substantially planar disposition of the two sides, while the closed position is defined by the formation of a substantially air-tight cavity. A seal extends around the three nonshared sides of the periphery of the first and second container sides. The seal is of a type that is readily adapted for repeated use, and forms a substantially air-tight seal when closed. Finally, a pair of symmetrically-disposed service flaps are provided and adapted for movement between active and stowed positions. In use, the service flaps are responsively attached to the two sides to fold out into the active position when the two container sides are motivated to the open position, and into the stowed position when the two container sides are motivated to the closed position.

In one embodiment a peripheral indicia tab is foldable about a lateral axis to assume one of two configurations, and is held in a folded configuration by a cohesive layer. Abstract: A food serving container which includes a tray which is formed by a front section and a rear section. Both the front section and the rear section have a side wall which connect together to form an enclosing side wall when the tray is in a stored position permitting a sandwich to be located and stored within the chamber of the tray. The front section is capable of pivoting relative to the rear section to an inclined position which facilitates consuming of the sandwich with the front section functioning to catch and collect any sandwich drippings that may occur doing the consuming procedure. With the front section in the usage position, the upstanding side wall of the front section is limited to the extent of movement relative to the rear section.

Abstract: A folded wrapper for a food product such as a taco or sandwich, the wrapper formed from a unitary circular blank of paperboard. In order to accommodate the thickness of the food product without squeezing it, the wrapper is provided with two major parallel fold lines at a generally diametrical fold location. The spacing between these lines is generally that of the thickness of the food product. When folded however about these fold lines, the wrapper would fold about only one or the other of them, thereby squeezing the product. Further, the ends of the folds would be open and thus permit pastes of other semi-liquid or liquid components of the product to escape. To seal the ends of the fold, and also to prevent folding about only one of the major parallel pairs of fold lines, the major parallel fold lines are shortened and a pair of shorter fold lines, located midway of the parallel fold lines and extending radially inwardly from the wrapper periphery, are provided.

Abstract: A bag for enclosing an object having a top face, a bottom face and a side panel. The side panel has a first fold line attached to the top face and a second fold line attached to the bottom face, wherein the side panel has a third fold line defining a first area and a second area and wherein the first area defines a trapezoid. In other embodiments, the first area may be a rectangle, a five sided area defined by a rectangle and either a trapezoid or a rounded gusset area. In addition there is disclosed a bag that is convertible into an eating surface. The convertible bag has a top face and a bottom face with each having a first edge and a second edge. A pair of side panels are attached to the side panels along the first and second edges so that they extend substantially perpendicular with respect to the top and bottom faces.

Abstract: An elongated serving, storing and heating bag for a food product of the type having a folded shell construction such as a taco, burrito, hot dog or the like is disclosed. The bag is in the form of an open ended bag of paper-like material having a dead fold capability with the bag including first and second side panels hingedly connected to one another along substantially parallel first and second fold lines with the first and second side panels combining to form an elongated tubular sleeve having a first open end and a second sealed end for receiving the food product therein. The bag further includes a gusseted fold line forming one of the first or second fold lines so as to permit expansion of the bag along one longitudinal edge.

Abstract: A paperboard blank is provided which can be assembled into a self-supporting food holder for a pita bread sandwich or the like. The paperboard blank has a generally pentagonal main panel defined by score lines. Rear left-side and right-side rip-away extension panels are attached to the pentagonal rear main panel along a left-upper score line and right-upper score line, respectively. A left-side and right-side front panel are attached to the rear main panel along a left-lower score line and a right-lower score line, respectively. A front left-side rip-away extension panel and a front right-side rip-away extension panel are attached to the front panels along score lines. A stand panel is attached to the rear main panel along a center-lower score line, having (i) a center portion which is foldable to partially overlap the right-side and left-side front panels in the assembled food holder, and (ii) a stand portion which is foldable to form an integral stand to support the assembled food holder.

Abstract: A support for consumption of an elongated food such as hot dogs is a simple structure starting with fold lines and cuts in a sheet of flexible and impermeable material such as paper, plastic coated paper or plastic sheet. It comprises a substantially rectangular base with a rear section defining a vertex from which side walls are attached. One side wall is provided with a cut and another side wall is provided with an indentation and a fold line in its middle section. This side wall has approximately twice the length of the first side wall.

Abstract: A sandwich wrapper is formed from a substantially rectangular sheet by providing a plurality of overlapping folds which are positioned into a substantially pleated arrangement. Two substantially parallel lines of adhesive, glue, or adhesive tape are used to attach spaced apart zones of the folded areas to each other. The dimensions of the sheet with respect to an article to be wrapped, spacing between the adhesive lines, and dimensions of the fold can be calculated to provide an efficient and cost-effective food wrapper.
