  • Patent number: 4970378
Abstract: Geared drive for reset trip odometer in which a transfer tooth on each of the rotatable odometer wheels is immediately ahead of the tooth space in the circular track on the wheels for tracking the wide teeth of the associated transfer pinion gear and laterally clear of the narrow pinion teeth. With the wide teeth normally riding on the track of the wheel, there is a gear locking action if a reverse drive occurs to limit wheel droop from a reference line and anti-locking action when reset is attempted so that the wheels can be forwardly driven to record trip distances.

  • Patent number: 4284881
Abstract: An improved mechanical counter including digit wheel means stepping pinion means which are movable between first and second positions, engaging and disengaging, respectively, the digit wheel means, and a resetting mechanism including a resetting rake, which is pivotally movable between an initial position in which rake is clear of the digit wheel means, and an actuated position. Also included in the resetting mechanism are a slider member connected to a pivoted member, which at its end opposite to the slider member is pivoted on a stationary pivot pin. Remote from its pivot pin, the pivoted member has a U-shaped coupling recess for actuating the resetting rake, and an S-shaped cam slot for disengaging the pinion means from, or re-engaging the same with, the digit wheel means, respectively. The resetting rake carries a coupling pin that is engaged by a respective edge of the pivoted member at the U-shaped coupling recess thereof.

  • Patent number: 4264806
Abstract: Electromechanical pulse counter with a housing, wherein a current carrying spool and coil means is secured, whereby the spool and coil means surround an iron core, an air gap defined between the iron core and an armature anchor, preferably in the form of a plate-like armature anchor, responsive to the magnetic field of the spool and coil means. The armature anchor is movably mounted in the housing, and actuates an escapement anchor, having a control fork which, stepwise, by the intervention of a gear drive, rotates at least one indicator wheel having indicator numbers on its circumference. The iron core is positively held at the housing part which comprises a support for the armature anchor, and the iron core is journalled so as to be movable with respect to the spool and coil means.

  • Patent number: 4244515
Abstract: A preset counter has a case and one or more counter units. Each counter unit has a number wheel, a first intermediate wheel in mesh with the number wheel, a preset wheel and a second intermediate wheel in mesh with the preset wheel. Said first intermediate wheel comprises a first wheel which is in mesh with said number wheel and whose rotation is prevented releasably by a locking means and a second wheel which is disposed in opposed relationship with said second intermediate wheel, resiliently connected through a clutch to said first wheel and is formed with a recess or notch cut into the peripheral surface thereof. When the preset wheel is rotated, its movement is transmitted through said second intermediate wheel to said second wheel, but not to said first wheel. When the number wheel is rotated, its movement is transmitted through said first wheel to said second wheel, but not to said second intermediate wheel.
