Parallex Compensation Patents (Class 235/409)
  • Patent number: 10848705
Abstract: A night-viewing device for use in an environment lacking light source, comprising a first image capturing module, a second image capturing module, a first light source illumination module and a second light source illumination module. The focal ranges of both image capturing modules are different. Meanwhile, the light output angles of both light source illumination modules are also different. When one of the image capturing modules is activated, a control module may select, in accordance with the change of the focal range of both image capturing modules, one of the light source illumination modules whose light output angle is greater than the focal range to drive it in operation such that the generated infrared light may cover the current focal range. In this way, when in observation at a large angle, it can effectively prevent the problem of the excessive darkness around the image capturing angle.

  • Patent number: 9033232
Abstract: An electromechanical system translates an “aiming error” signal from a target tracking system into dynamic “pointing corrections” for handheld devices to drastically reduce pointing errors due to man-machine wobble without specific direction by the user. The active stabilization targeting correction system works by separating the “support” features of the handheld device from the “projectile launching” features, and controlling their respective motion by electromechanical mechanisms. When a target is visually acquired, the angular deflection (both horizontal windage and vertical elevation) and aiming errors due to man-machine wobble (both vertical and horizontal) from the target's location to the current point-of-aim can be quickly measured by the ballistic computer located internal to a target tracking device. These values are transmitted to calibrated encoded electromechanical actuators that position the isolated components to rapidly correct angular deflection to match the previous aiming error.

  • Patent number: 8955749
Abstract: An aiming system for portable weapons comprising pairs of inertial sensors of gyroscopic, accelerometer and magnetometric type arranged respectively on a weapon and on an helmet with Head Up Display, so as to determine both the relative orientation and the relative position in space of the weapon and of the helmet, with consequent display of the line of fire on the Head Up Display.

  • Patent number: 8336777
Abstract: A weapon aiming system projects an aim point and/or an image from a weapon mounted vision system into a display coupled to a head-mounted vision system to aid in acquiring a target. The system incorporates electronic image stabilization and is capable of maintaining a reticle aligned with a point-of-impact of a weapon.

  • Publication number: 20110315767
Abstract: Apparatus for viewing, imaging and processing the trace of a high speed bullet aimed at a desired target including apparatus to replay and review the trace image to more accurately determine the path of the bullet and its actual or intended point of impact. The processed information can be used to determine, or directly measure, the “miss-distance” between the desired target point and what is, or would be, the impact point of the bullet. The miss-distance information can be used to aid automatically re-aiming the weapon (e.g., rifle, gun) firing the bullet to compensate for the miss-distance.

  • Publication number: 20110284634
Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic correction apparatus for a trajectory of a projectile from a firearm of which a sight and a gun barrel are installed in parallel, the apparatus including: a distance measurer which is installed in parallel with the sight and measures distance from a target to be hit; a central processing unit which calculates a correction value for parallelization between the gun barrel and the sight so that a trajectory curve and the target can intersect with each other on the basis of the distance measured by the distance measurer; and a parallelization adjuster which connects the sight and the gun barrel and adjusts axial parallelization between a sight line of the sight and the gun barrel on the basis of the parallelization correction value calculated by the central processing unit. With this, the trajectory of the projectile is automatically corrected in accordance with the distance from the target, and thus quick and correct aiming and firing are possible.

  • Patent number: 4541323
Abstract: Electronic control apparatuses (11, 12, 13) are provided for a warship having controlling and controlled units with a bedding (foundation) plane, with the control apparatuses forming control signals for the associated controlled units from the crude information coming from the associated controlling units. The electronic control apparatuses (11, 12, 13) have correction stages for each associated controlled unit for modifying the formed control signals in dependence on the bedding error of the associated controlled unit and/or of the controlling unit (19, 20, 21) which supplies the control apparatus (11, 12, 13). Furthermore, memories are provided for storing the bedding error values in dependence on the horizontal angular position of the controlled unit and/or of the controlling unit (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 4148026
Abstract: A system for tracking a moving target from a moving carrier. The system is provided with an arrangement allowing a measurement of the position of the target in relation to the carrier. The difference between the position of the target and an estimated position for the latter is given by this arrangement, generally in spherical co-ordinates. These spherical co-ordinates are changed by a co-ordinates converting unit into cartesian co-ordinates. The position of the target is given in turn in relation to a cartesian frame of reference of unvarying orientation whose origin is situated close to the instantaneous centre of rotation of the carrier in relation with a trajectory simulator. The frame of reference is then changed in the opposite direction for a control of the position of the measuring arrangement.
