Abstract: A belt lacer uses a power drive carriage for clinching hook or C-shaped belt lacing elements to a belt end. Optionally, the carriage may be driven in a manual mode or a power mode. A detachable power drive such as from an electric drill may be used for the power mode. The power drive of the carriage may be stopped short of an end wall and a return mechanism may return the carriage to the power drive. A moveable belt support in a hand space position allows for working on the lacing elements and may be shifted to a belt supporting position. The belt clamp exerts a forwardly directed force on the belt as it is being clamped. Face plates or combs may be stored on the belt lacer. A latch secures the face plates against lateral sliding during clinching by clinching rollers on the carriage.

Abstract: A connector assembly for a draper belt in a harvesting machine having first and second connecting bars on opposite first and second sides of belt end flanges and a flat belt splice along the leading or trailing edge of the draper belt. By providing a flat belt splice along the leading edge, the draper belt can be located underneath a belt cover to prevent grain from leaking out onto the ground.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for attaching an award to a ribbon having a stitched ribbon end loop for securely receiving and holding a ribbon anchor bar, and an improved fastener having a ribbon anchor bar and a fastening clip. The improved fastener is made of a bendable single piece of resilient, thin wire having a preformed memory. The fastening clip has an opening which is formed by two free ends. One free end is twisted and positioned underneath and against the other free end for creating tension in said lower free end against the upper free end. The other free end is above and against the first free end for creating tension in the lower free end against the upper free end. An open position is obtained by pressuring the first free end down to insert an award therein. By releasing the pressure, first free end resumes its initial closed position to hold the award in place. Alternatively, the improved ribbon has a anchor member having a hole for receiving an opposite end of a fastening member.

Abstract: A pendant-like device which hangs around the neck and holds clip-on sunglasses (or similar eyewear) in a forward-facing position at mid-chest level. All models consist of a pendant that is suspended at mid-chest level by a cord which loops behind the neck of the user.

Abstract: A separable zipper pull tab comprises a hook piece and a zipper pull tab body having an adhesive element or a shear pin. The hook piece has a connecting arm that is secured to a connecting arch of a slider and the zipper pull tab body includes a receiving cavity which receives a portion of the hook piece. The zipper pull tab body and the hook piece are frangibly secured by an adhesive element whereby the zipper pull tab body may be separated from the hook piece upon application of a force sufficient to overcome the adhesive element.

Abstract: A bib holder particularly suited for holding dental bibs, includes fasteners and a strap between them wherein the strap is made of a flexible material with a central expanded band portion with two flat sides and elongated rod portions extending from the band portion. Bib fasteners are attached to the end terminals of the rod portions. This strap is comfortable when placed on the patient, is easily stored, may be made in bright colors and designer designs, and further may contain words or other designs on the flat sides of the band portion.

Abstract: A modular attachment system for an object holding system or object displaying system that comprises a base section that engages a cord and an attachment section that secures the object to be held or displayed. The cord may be worn by a person such that the object, for example, an identification badge, key ring, and so forth, is held and/or displayed. Various types of attachment sections may be used with a single base section, thus allowing substitution and flexibility in providing appropriate systems for various situations. The attachment system may be made from molded plastic in a lightweight, cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing manner.

Abstract: An elongate article coupler comprises a pair of fitting parts for severally retaining end parts of the elongate articles and a connecting part disposed between the fitting parts and adapted to interconnect the fitting parts, the connecting part having a breaking part adapted to be broken under a tension exceeding a prescribed level. In accordance with one embodiment of the modification, the coupler comprises a pair of fitting parts each including one of a pair of engaging parts adapted to form mutual engagement and break the engagement under a tension exceeding a prescribed level. In accordance with another modification, the coupler comprises one or more of fitting parts and retention cancelling means adapted to induce retention of the elongate article in cooperation with the fitting parts and cancel the retention of the elongate article when a tension exceeding a prescribed level is exerted on the elongate article.

Abstract: Binoculars having a neck strap and a pair of connectors removeably connecting opposite ends of the neck strap to a body of the binoculars. Each connector including a male member and a female member with associated structural members permitting each male member to be used with only one female member. Each male member being fixedly joined to opposite ends of said strap. Each of said connectors being low profile when the members are joined and appearing to be an integrated and structural part of the binoculars body.

Each jewelry/retainer comprises a brightly colored, buoyant body coupled to one or more fasteners for securing various articles such as sunglasses, keys, or personal care products which the swimmer or water sportsman desires to conveniently retain. The jewelry items comprise eyeglass retainers, bracelets, anklets, name badges, and necklaces. The body comprises a resilient core of low-density foam covered by a flexible, tubular sheath. The sheath brightly colors and reinforces the body. In one mode the fasteners comprise resilient tubes for axially gripping the ear pieces of conventional glasses. An alternative fastener comprises a flexible fabric channel for receiving fine wire or wrap-around ear pieces. Another embodiment comprises a cord looped through an item to be floated, and an optional cap is provided for slip-fitting over existing containers of personal care products.

Abstract: For infection control in a dental operatory, a single use, disposable dental bib holder comprising a synthetic organic plastic strap of a length to go about the neck of a patient and having left and right terminals, left and right clip fasteners secured to the strap terminals and having interlocking portions for positively fastening a dental bib in use position, the strap being locally frangible between the terminals for manually separating the strap into two sections which are disposable with the dental bib.

Abstract: A bottle assembly functioning as a handsfree canteen for carrying a drinkable liquid such as mineral water. The assembly include a standard liquid containing bottle whose externally threaded neck is engaged by a screw-on cap having a small loop integral therewith. The loop is coupled by a retractable link to a shoulder, waist or neck strap or chain for carrying the capped bottle.

Abstract: A drying rack for scuba boots and gloves has a vertical support hanger and a horizontal platform. The platform contains oblong openings in which to insert scuba gloves. Extendings are provided, defining slots for hanging boots upside down. The extending arms are at an angle with the horizontal, including the boots so as to expel water therefrom.

Abstract: An erosion control revetment and wall made from preformed blocks which are secured to elongate support members by interlocking sleeves. The block is formed with transversely extending slots which extend from the top end to the bottom end of the block and have an enlarged opening on the top end for receiving a tubular sleeve which encircles the elongate support members. The outer diameter of the sleeve is snugly received within the enlarged opening, but is larger than the width of the remainder of the slot, preventing unintended removal of the block from the support member. The elongate support members may be semi-rigid rods or cables. The revetment is formed from alternating rows of blocks which are offset by one elongate support member relative to blocks in adjacent rows. Alternatively, the blocks may be assembled into a wall having vertically aligned blocks or blocks which are offset relative to one another in adjacent rows.
