  • Patent number: 10371312
Abstract: Techniques for selectively rotatable feet for an apparatus are described. According to various implementations, an apparatus includes feet on its base that cushion the apparatus on an adjacent surface, such as a desk, a table, and a floor. The feet are rounded (e.g., spherical) and can rotate relative to the base to enable the apparatus to be moved on an adjacent surface. To prevent unwanted movement during a typical usage, the apparatus includes brakes that engage with the feet to prevent rotation. The brakes, however, can be selectively disengaged from different feet to enable different types of movement of the apparatus, such as rotational and translational movement.

Abstract: An exercise mat and punching assembly combination includes a base having a bottom wall, a top wall and a peripheral wall such that a substantially watertight interior of the base is defined. An inlet conduit extends into the interior. A peripheral lip is attached to and extends upwardly from the peripheral wall. A central member is selectively positionable on the top wall such that the central member is supported in vertical orientation by the peripheral lip. A panel comprised of a cushioning material has a size and shape such that the panel may be extended around the central member. A fastening assembly is attached to the panel for releasably fastening it around the central member. The interior of the base may be selectively filled with a liquid.

  • Patent number: 6776734
Abstract: An anchoring assembly for a portable basketball goal assembly is disclosed. The anchoring assembly enables the basketball goal assembly to be rigidly attached to a playing surface to stabilize the basketball goal assembly during game play. Each anchoring assembly may include an anchor fitted within an anchoring hole of the playing surface and an anchoring attachment extending through a hole in the base of the basketball goal assembly to engage the anchor. The anchoring attachment can be gripped and rotated by a user to engage or disengage the anchoring assembly. Various bracket arrangements may be used in conjunction with oversized holes in the base to permit significant variation in the positioning and orientation of the anchoring holes. Furthermore, support struts may be attached directly to such brackets to transmit force through a pathway constructed exclusively of high strength material.

Abstract: A rollable sports ballast base for supporting a sports apparatus support member comprising a base member which has a first edge and a second edge, a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface is adapted to contact a support surface such as a driveway or other playing surface. There is at least one wheel assembly for contacting the support surface. One of the wheel assemblies is retractable from a lowered position to a raised position such that when in the raised position, the bottom surface of the base member substantially contacts the support surface. In the lowered position, both wheel assemblies contact the support surface thereby separating or elevating the base member from the support surface. In another embodiment, the invention consists of a similar rollable sports base for supporting a sports apparatus support member wherein one wheel assembly is retractable and comprises a pivoting connector coupled to the base member and a wheel bracket coupled to the pivoting connector.

Abstract: The clipper oil stand has a reservoir for containing a suitable oil for cleaning, lubricating, disinfecting, and scenting the blades of a hair clipper. The reservoir has at least one sidewall and a bottom wall for containing the oil, and a cover attached to the sidewall by a hinge. A well having sloped sidewalls and a perforated bottom wall depends from the cover. A sloped cradle is mounted on top of the cover. The hair clippers are placed in the cradle, blade end downwards, the clipper blades extending through an opening in the bottom of the cradle so that oil filling into the well from the reservoir cleans and lubricates the hair clipper blades.

Abstract: An inflatable cup holder secures a variety of beverage container sizes and shapes. The cup holder includes a shell having an inner wall defining an internal bore, the inner wall having an aperture therein. An inflatable bladder adjacent to the aperture extends through the aperture and reduces the bore volume upon pressurization. An inflation device for pressurizing the bladder is located within the shell. A manual or air compressor inflation device operation are contemplated. A pressure release valve in full communication with the bladder prevents bladder inflation above a pre-selected threshold and also is activated to release a beverage container from the inventive cup holder.

Abstract: A portable anchoring device 10 having a receiving sleeve 24 which is a cylindrical elongated tube having a throughbore 16 therein. The receiving sleeve 24 houses a filling chamber 30, filling cap 20, and the securing ring 28. The filling chamber 30 provides the means by which the portable anchoring device 10 may add more stability to its anchoring function and is equipped with an inlet cap 20 and an outlet cap 36. The retaining ring 28 is located at the base end 22 of the receiving sleeve 24 and provides the portable anchoring device with the means for securing a plurality of portable anchoring devices to each other. The retaining ring 28 also provides the means for securing a tent pole or gazebo leg 14 to the portable anchoring device. The base support element 22 is composed of two, semi-circle shaped units that provide the portable anchoring device with its foundation and anchorage support.

Abstract: The support slat is in the form of an integrally-molded one-piece unit. It comprises a central section provided with a pair of spaced-apart and parallely-disposed side walls. The side walls are connected to each others by a plurality of spaced-apart transversal walls. The end sections are each having a beveled transversal edge, which defines an inclined surface contiguous with an upper load-supporting surface of the support slat. The support slat is particularly well adapted to be used with corresponding support beams, thereby allowing to solve the problem of direct contact between the belts and the upper surface of stacked articles. This is achieved without interfering with another stack placed above. Another advantage of using the support slat is that it allows to increase the sliding resistance of supporting beams.

  • Patent number: 6581888
Abstract: An apparatus for the stabilization of a drinking vessel such as a glass, coffee mug, or a piece of stemware that is placed on a flat or irregular or sloping surface includes a base portion having a flexible outer covering that surrounds a flexible weighted mass. An elastomeric member that includes an opening is attached to the base portion. The elastomeric member is urged into an open position which requires expanding the opening a sufficient amount to permit the bottom portion of the drinking vessel to pass through the opening and rest on top of the base portion. The elastomeric member is then allowed to retract into a closed position in which elastomeric tension secures the bottom portion of the drinking vessel to the top of the base portion. The apparatus is then placed on the desired surface where the drinking vessel is supported and thereby prevented from tilting or tipping.
